    Suggestion: AI finding cover

SmellyJelly: Exactly! Urban fights are even the biggest crap in this game! As you say, when 2 enemies meet, first thing they do is lying down (which takes 2 seconds), and then start shooting each other, then starting to rotate. Isn't there any way to improve these behaviors?
  2. Every once in a whil I try to play ArmA (because I say to myself "It can't be that bad..."). But then I play one of the missions, and I am impressed all the time how st00pid the AI reacts. For example: I have played the campaign mission, in which you have to destroy some urals. So I go up to the church in the little village to get some explosives and wait...and wait...and wait...and wait... Anyway, the mission seems to be broken and the convoy never comes. I didn't mind that, to be honest (I know these sort of things happen in ArmA). Well, I got bored and started shooing the civilians. That's when I was reminded again how bad this game is. I mean, come on! If I shoot one of the guys, the others around him lie down on the floor for 2 seconds, get back up and stroll around, as if nothing happend. Is it that hard to make AI find cover behind bushes or houses or whatever? Or start running away in panic? Exactly the same in the first sniper mission: I start shooting the enemies that exit the trucks, and what are they doing? They lie down on the floor and start rotating. A nice reaction would be: FINDING COVER!!! I mean, there are trucks, at least get behind them! Or run for the trees! But don't lie down on the open road and rotate around. Too bad this will never be fixed. The AI is just too bad, which ruins the game totally for me.
  3. Hi! Haven't been around for some weeks, so sorry if this has been answered already ( I am too lazy to read through 13 pages of this thread): Are these radio chatters and voice commands in the youtube video part of the mod, or are they just for better atmosphere in the video? If they are in the mod, how did you do that? And how/when will they play? Are they activated by triggers? Or do the play randomly? BTW: Awesome sound mod, as far as I can tell (from the video). cheers, mailor.

    Authentic sound & weapon Mod

I wish to say thank you as well, ThePredator. Nice seeing my favorite mod maker (realism mod for Swat 4 <- absolutely fantastic) back in action again. Danke!

    Iron Sights & Scopes

Thanks for your explanation. Still it seems pretty weird, as in my game all the weapons seem to be adjusted to about 500 m or even more, not only the sniper scopes. (for example: In the campaign mission "Beaten Dog", at the beginnig there are some soldiers appearing at the horizon, about 500 m away (I guess). And I still have to aim lower to even hit them (with the machine gun). Can't imagine how I can even hit targets that are further away, since they already only are tiny dots in the distance (and NO, I don't have a mini Monitor, and YES, I do zoom in with my right mouse button). So I guess I will never actually have to aim higher or straight in this game to actually hit anything, because all the guns are adjusted to very far distances...

    Iron Sights & Scopes

Am I the only one who has his bullets impact always above where I am aiming? I mean shouldn't the bullets fall in the distance and therefore I should aim higher? In my game, I have to aim about 1 mm under the feet of the enemies at about 300 m (or even more) to hit the enemy in the feet. Same with the scopes. I have to put the cross at the feet of the enemy to hit him in the head (and yes I know, that in real life you can adjust this, but I can't do it in the game, so it sucks)

"Where are you" is killing me...

Overdosed: First and easiest thing you can do is just to order them to move to your position (in the map) or via quick command. Just mark the lost soldiers, hold space and click on the floor next to you. You will then give them orders to move to coordinates next to you. Don't forget to order them to fall back in formation, when they are here though! On the other hand, I THINK there is a radio option in the status section, in which you can report your coordinates. At least this has been in OFP, and since the radio commands seem almost ident, I believe it still exists. I hope this solves your problem.

Can you run ARMA?  Read here!

Hehe. I could run it on my laptop. Don't wanna know how he performance would be though...

    MP Servers do not display.

Hi, I don't know if that helps, but I "solved" this problem this way: When you open the multiplayer screen, I had to "alt-Tab" to Windows, because there was this message: "Armed Assault versucht eine Internetverbindung zu Gamespy herzustellen, wollen sie das zulassen?" (or something like that). And then you have to click "Ja". Translation: "Armed assault tries to open a internetconnection to Gamespy, do you allow this?" Click "Yes" PS: Sorry if this doesn't help... But that's the best I can do

    Climbing ladders

I know, that it is better to have a proper climbing animation, and I am glad it is implemented "properly" in ArmA. The thing is (and I don't mind if you don't see it that way), that so many little things just don't feel polished, and would have been more enjoyable if they would look properly. Reason I am mentoining this stuff is, because I think it wouldn't have been THAT hard to make certain things (like climbing ladders) look appealing (at least I believe that. But since I am a total moron concerning game-programming, I can't tell for sure. I can only do comparisons, and since other developers have succeeded in such tasks, I guess Bohemia could have done as well...) Calm down, I am one of you fanboys, and I love ArmA. I loved OFP too, so I am on your side I played OFP a lot, and I liked it as well. But still I hated it, that, for example, all the soldiers in the back of a BMP looked as if they were suffering from Poliomyelitis...

    Climbing ladders

Just because other games implement this feature bad (which actually isn't completely true either, if you take "Raven Shield" or even "Battlefield 2" as examples), it doesn't mean it has to be implemented badly. The animation is just messed up. Anyway, it's not that big a problem. It's just one of these thousand little things that make "ArmA: Armed Assault" look like a shareware game (by which I mean: "not very professional")...

    Balschoiw: Makes sense.

    Climbing ladders

Yeah, this feature would actually be great, if the animation wouldn't look so awful. They still grab on the rungs, when there aren't any left... I like the crazy banana as well.

    "Holding breath"

Hi. Don't you think, that it is kind of weird, when you "hold your breath" in sniping mode, the character starts to breath like a locomotive immediately?
