The beautiful config.cpp and it´s potential
mibmib replied to Starsky's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yea, I've gotten just about everything off the opediting site (which was great help) but all they have is the list. What I really need is a description of each attribute (I'm trying to get away from the word command since everyone thinks of the editing commands). Most of them you can mod and see what happens but some are tough to test. thanks. -
The beautiful config.cpp and it´s potential

Does anyone have a complete list of attributes that are in the .cpp file and what they actually do. Most are pretty simple but a complete reference would be nice especially for things used by the AI players. thanks. -
Can I use soldier and weapons mods in single and campaign missions or is it just for multiplayer and custom missions? I would like to change the uniforms in the original missions and campaigns. I've un-packed some of the PBOs but can't figure out where the orignal soldiers are packed up. In the mission.sqm file there are references to "SolderEB" and such but I can't figure out how they link to the .pbo, .p3d or .paa files. Is this possible with weapons? and can you modify and aspects of the weapons and ammo (specs not graphics)? thanks.

Thanks for the links. Do you know of anyway to create hot-keys for multiple key strokes? The command menus are a but tedious and time consuming when someone is shooting at you. A hot key for each squad color would be a nice addition. thanks again.

I'm at 1.42. Help and I've seen a bug. Help: Is there any addtional help on how to coordinate team activity. I've read the manual and am able to do most things but it is tough to keep them alive some times. Is their a detailed description as to what the command heads-up-display icons are supposed to represent. As I state later, I think I have figured out the orange square (hold fire) but what else is there? (woulded, mounted, etc.) Also, once I have issued the watch in a certain direction, how do I cancel it so that they start looking around more again? Bug: When playing the Commander mission, Single #10, I told all my guys to hold their fire. A small orange square appear on all of them (wasn't sure what it was at the time) and they did as they were told. When I told them to fire, engage, or engage at will the sqaure stayed and they would not fire their weapons. The scary part is that I did not find this out till later in the mission. I had done earlier saves and was able to go back before the command to confirm this was the problem. Also, I had a guy driving the tank and once he was issued hold fire, he would never drive the tank again unless I was in it telling him where to go with the WASD keys. Move would not work.

Thanks to Placebo and others who posted on my message from early this week.I meant to respond the other day but have been playing too much to get back to the forum. I got the version upto date and upgraded to a Radeon 32MB AGP card and man I'm seeing all sorts of new stuff. I defragged and cleanup up a bit and the load/save is back to normal. The AI is still a little tough since even though I don't have the Super AI on, the enemy seems to be able to see through bushes now. Guess I better get some practice over the Holiday Weekend. this forum is great help! thanks.

Thanks for your comments. Placebo, you can of course ignore any emails I sent you about not be able to post. Back to business. 1) Got the Version info and the downloads. I'll get updated tonight and see what I have been missing. 2) I've got an AMD 900Mhz machine with 128MB RAM and about 13GB free on the HD. I will check the fragmentation, but I think the demo would be trashing too if my disk was fragmented. 3&4) Will check them out tonight. 5) As for the graphics card I am ashamed a little to admit that I still have the TNT2 (16MB I think) that came with my machine. Go ahead and flame away but the Demo looks great on 640x480 w/ most of the Advance Video stuff turned way down. I'm looking at a couple of Xtasy Cards (GeForce 2 32MB or 64MB AGP) will that do your game justice. Would this be affecting the save and load times as well? I'm getting there.

Let me start by saying that I have really enjoyed the single player demo. Â Although I am new to OFP, I've played similar games especially Rogue Spear. Â I'm a big fan of RedStorm for CQB but for military ops I like your interface and the open area look and feel. Â Most of my questions have to do with the differences with the Demo. Questions ..... 1) Versions: How can determined what version I have? Â I have a US version that I purchased yesterday (Jan '02) in US. Â What upgrades are applicable for this version? 2)Saving / Loading Games: Â Whenever I save or load, it takes about 40 seconds. Â The Demo only took a few seconds and the file sizes are about the same. 3)Difficulty: Â I know you have alot of posts for this, but I was wondering if you changed the AI between the Demo and the real deal. Â Because in the Demo (did I mention that I played this a number of times), I can pretty much go solo and take out the enemy including stealling tanks but when I play the ambush mission on the OFP, most of my squad can't even make it to the Houdan with getting killed much less myself. 4) Tracer Rounds: Â Is there anyway to turn those on in the real game. Â This was cool in the demo and would definately help on the difficulty issue. Â Â It was a the open cross with the moving point. 5) Graphics detail: Â I Â have an old graphics card but again, comparing to the Demo, I don't see the ememy as well I even have it at a higher resolution on the real game. Â Even at long distances I was able to see the enemy better and when I hit him the blood was more evident. thanks for your time.
