"ITS EVIDENT" you may say But a lot of teenagers think that what they see on a screen is the truth.... I know, this week-end i was with my girlfriend at Bastogne (not difficult i live in Belgium) with her grandfather who is an orphan from this battle. (Parents oblitared by SS cleansing) By his subjective testimony, myvision of the battle is a nonsense in comparaison with the movies representations and some games that i used to play with : this battle at the beginning of the nazi strike was an UBERDEBACLE.... That a look at the monument of the "Mardason" and count the number of blinded "epaves" There was more to this Easy Co paratrooper than the snapshot we get in Episode 3, "Carentan". Check out this link: http://currahee.hispeed.com/his2ndbnwwiiphoto24.html small proof that series must not be described as historical representations or reconstitutions. Only interpretations and fiction but not a real testimony of an epic history. Sorry for my bad english

Strange atitude. A country who give the rights to arm his citizens and give such liberties and in same time don't tolerate some sort of fashion is an idiostism... A citizen is responsible of his acts and speech but his mode of clothing must be approved ? lol, welcome to UTOPIA GATACA

Game industry awards .... All is hype : (**) is the winner... source : "http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/02/01/news_6117727.html" ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Half-Life 2 named Game of the Year at D.I.C.E. awards Halo 2 guns down four awards; San Andreas, Katamari, Fable, among a pack picking up two awards each; World of Warcraft named best MMO title. LAS VEGAS--The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) handed out awards during the 8th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards tonight in Las Vegas. About four hundred attendees watched as Valve founder Gabe Newell accepted nine awards, including First Person Action Game of the Year, the Innovation in Computer Gaming award, and ultimately, Game of the Year. The only category Half-Life 2 was nominated in but failed to win was in the Outstanding Achievement in Game Design category, which went to Katamari Damacy. While Halo 2 was the night's second biggest winner, nabbing four awards, it could only muster awards in categories Half-Life 2 was not nominated for. Trip Hawkins accepted his Hall of Fame award midway through the ceremony. Hawkins thanked the Academy and attendees saying, "it was a dream of mine to turn games into an art form." The festivities this year were a far cry from the raucous, noisy, smoke-filled, and open-bar-graced event of last year. One of the few spikes in energy this year was the passionate acceptance speech which followed the naming of ESPN NFL 2K5 as Sports Simulation game of the Year. "I think we did all we could do to fight a big contender," the Sega rep accepting the award said as attendees cheered. Possibly the one other highlight of the night was the ten minutes Spider-Man creator and comic books legend Stan Lee spent on stage. Arriving at the microphone--and addressing the audience with his signature greeting: "hello culture lovers"--Lee settled down and played the straight man. He announced a number of awards, deftly navigating the many disparate names of game titles, developers, and publishers. At 82, Lee's act was polished, refined--he reeled the audience in easliy with a quick-witted repetoire of wisecracks and one-liners. The awards ceremony spanned about three hours in total. Category winners are noted with asterisks below. from"http://lonestartimes.com/index.php?id=0,1631,0,0,1,0" ------------------------------------------------------------------- The gunfire came from houses and a Mosque. It was a well planned and sizeable ambush – the enemy knew they were coming. The Marines had sustained two KIA’s (killed in action)– one had died on the battlefield – the other at this facility on the table. They would be transported later. The young Marines I spoke to described the battle like a scene from Star Wars – bullets, RPG’s, return fire – a huge fire fight. They got the bad guys – but it came with a price[/b] ------------------------------------------------------------------- My "stupid" point of view : These marines have a sci-fi film "Starwar" as military reference to describe an intense firefight. Well it's a good metaphore of diverse concepts. 1) An unbelievable fight 2) This war is science-fictionesque : they never see a real battle only by TV screen and simulation or behind the technologic warafare 3) The movie concept of the situation, they are overrun. Being agnostic, I see this document like a "shamanic" view of this conflict.... Anthropologicaly the priest act like a shaman for the "Corps"... Its a little schyzo : a) High tech starwaresque conflict - b) Shamanesque vision of the world and ugly deads.... "Warhammer 40K" where are you ? Sorry for my bad english

Graphics, Explosions, Debre, HUGE HOLES!
maximilien replied to ShadowGhOsT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
For the graphics, well, this is a good competition. But a game is not just and plainly pure graphics, BF is a militar-arcade-fps not a simulator.... Actually the limitations come from the Pc's, excellents graphics in Dx 9c + huge detailed maps + 64 intervenants and vehicules.... well an AMD 64 4000+ with a Geforce 6800 ultramegapetadinosaurus.... is suitable.... maybe The evolution in the gaming evolution is actually incredible (in the graphics and simulation of physics), but the time in developement and cost is amazing! with sometimes two single results: eye candy and childish gameplay... I am tired by this, i would prefer a non state of the art in graphics but a realistic game in terms of representation of a battlefront... Personally i am not interested by a "fallujha" simulator with tanks like T-90 and kind of Chinese troops and arabian forces.... ----brrrrr----- -
You need obsolutly an internet connection... This is a big concern...

Well Mora2, you give me the smile of the day....  No offense. I am european, but a real Atlantist (true exchanges Europe -North America). (Hum in Bushism a true believer lol) It's a judgement problem, a lot of europeans are not primitive "anti-americans" (it's a sort of insult typically american - like pinko-commie) , we are simply disapointed by the path taked by the "Bush Administration" and the "ideological rift" between traditional allies. After 11/09/01 all the people around me was trully allies for the american cause, the cosmopolitan New-York attacked by "barbares". Now, we can say thankfully to the TBA that we were NAIVES.... It's a big joke when you say that my interest is a weak America, my interest is a strong America POLITICALY ECONOMICALY AND Of course MILITARY... In this moment for the world stabilty, 2 of this postulates are false : U.S.A. politicaly is weak(in therms of diplomacy evidently) politicaly and the economy is not better than EU (That's not normal).... Military.... well YES but not sufficent for the traditional mission of the U.S.A. When i see the devlopment of the world situation i think that we, europeans, must relie in our own new military structure, and diplomacy... I was born in the cold war, a better place (apart the concept of doomsday) for a european like me than the instability politic, economic from the today world.... THANK YOU MISTER THE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A. AND YOUR SUPERB ADMINISTRATION , what a mess... the dialogue is difficult between the atlantic ocean... thank you. When i think that the new members of the E.U. were political ennemies, and our "Protector" act like a teenager, i can say U.S.A. is the wrong way with the actual administration  Also, for me, Kerry is not the carismatic providential president but by default a lot better than Bush. In some american forums i have been insulted in the same sort if i was in CCCP in 50', what a satire some extremists acted like bolcheviks.... lol Â

Hello, speaking about european elections, you remembered me why yesterday the "eurocrates" that i have meet seems so nervous. (I live and work in "Bruxelles Centre"). I laugh always when an american citizen criticise the expenses from his administration... -Dear americans, come and see here ! I was very chocked and annoyed by the "savoir vivre" of some CD (Diplomatic corps) from my beloved European Union (to candid i think) I have some redundant examples: A "Cd" driver(owner) yelling and annoying a police car... because the policeman was disturbing the traffic when he was in duty... In a meeting with the contractors from the "Berlaymont", we have "been verbaly invited" by representants from de EU commission to not respect the laws of security concerning the lift's use. I was chocked! In my studies, i have learned Eurocodes concerning methodology and "normes" to work, and when i must apply this laws IN BUILDINGS FROM THE E.U. they invite us to be competitive and face security prejudices. -DO WHAT I SAY BUT DON'T DO WHAT I DO ! This representants from the commission are not good examples.... They give me a rotten picture from the european commission. -They don't participe in the belgian social community (its like lobbies groups)they live each in their biotope, they exchange socialy nothing (Metro, work, sleep) I meet the english and the Irish guy's in pubs, the spanishs in "bares a tapas", scandinaves in libraries (it is so caricatural....), Well i'm spanish and i'm ashamed by the lack of social investment from my fellows compatriots, we live in an aquarium. When i speek whith flemish guys they say always the E.U. is the Heel from Babel ! It's like a Kafka story. I must assure you that i speek not about a vast majority from the E.U. employes and representants but i know some sad stories (advantages that are a form of corruption, black work, nepotism, favoritism and biased examinations to obtein a job...) The E.U. in Brussel is for me like Alice in wonderland...(I was a lot "Candide" about the E.U. I have a lot of stories to tell...pfff) The scandal from the erasmus project is nothing in comparaison with some E.U. methods. And I VOTE--- this is the most important (I know now for what europe i will) I m sorry for my bad english.

The lies from Irak cause some disturbs and secession... in a small country named Belgium... the country of the "Pralines", waffles, beers... (geography for the dumbs lol) For example the representant in Belgium for the Republican party (who was an ardent defensor for the Irak intervention ) invite his compatriots to vote for John Kerry... Regarding to his lasts interviews months ago it's so incredible! Yes, some "chikenhawks" have buyed some glasses... He recived some insults by mail and accusations "to be UNPATRIOTIC..." Joseph McCarthy where are you ? Haa these communists fluids, they are everywhere... My apologies to be so childish, it's so cynical...
