LOL! I am sorry to say it but really your system is no where near upto standard to play Flashpoint! I wouldn't consider anything under 1ghz with at least a Geforce 2 GTS and 256mb RAM.
-
What is your net connection? 56K or ADSL/Cable?? It may be a problem with Windows XP stealing bandwith... Though without your system specs no one will be able to give you detailed help! SORRY List your specs + OS and drivers!!!!
-
261,600 RAM?? Riiiigggghhhhttt thats prolly 256mb but Windows reads RAM like a blind man reads writting on a toilet wall!!! Well all I can suggest here is make sure your PC is not overheating... An Athlon at 1.5ghz should be no higher than 48c-49c really, I think they suffer damage at about 55c. The second thing you could try is closing all back ground programs using ALT-CTRL-DEL, Leave SysTray and Explorer open though! I've heard virus scanners and cloneCD can cause problems with OFP. Maybe another 128mb or 256mb could solve this problem but anyway I'm sure you'll find the problem 1 day

This is probabley a problem to do with number of programs you are running in the back ground and the drivers you are using. Firstly graphics card drivers will really effect the performance of the game so try and get the latest ones! next turn of any things in the systray and back ground you don't! This might help if not try a scan disk and defrag! If you could post your whole spec and your bros maybe we could help more!

Hi Peeps! I have the following rating for my PC in the OFP preferences but I just wanted to check it out and see what people think! I consider 2750 to be a bit low for my PC spec! I am running in 1280X1024(16Bit) with all the details on in D3D HT&L, the games runs excellently! My Spec is:Amd Athlon 1.4ghz 512mb DDR RAM (PC2100) Creative Geforce III (64mb DDR, AGP) Sound Blaster 4.1 Audio Soud Card 52X Matshita CDROM 12X Matshita DVDROM 4X Philips CDRW 20gb Maxtor Hard Drive (7200rpm) 20gb Fujitsu Hard Drive (5400rpm) 17" T17N Monitor (Upto 95hz Refresh) v92 OliNet External USB 56K Modem ASUS A7A266 Socket A Motherboard 4 Case Fans (2X Y-Tech, 2X Evercool) Thermomaster Heatsink/Fan combo 400watt ADV ATX PSU Thermaltake RAM Cooler 1.44mb Panasonic Floppy Drive Windows XP Pro

I run a fair amount of the programs listed in this Thread with no problems under XP Pro. I must say I've yet to see a better OS than XP beats the pants off of 98 and ME. I'd check ure CPU and memory usage and male sure they ain't damaged as there's no reason Nero or CD Clone should mess up Flashpoint.

Riiiiiiiiiggggggggghhhhhhhhtttttt (Dr Evil Style) Anyway normal thing: Problem/Spec needed here! Oh yeah I'd learn about paragraphs too

Nah I'm afraid its not the best card u can for gaming only average! Geforce cards still the best at the mo!
-
Well I think its 2 possible reasons for this! Firstly in my experience NTFS is actaully better for games and it also makes your PC run at a higher optimal speed. As for the fuzzyness its possible being an old monitor that it doesn't support the refresh rate of your graphics card. The other reason is the settings for your graphics card might need a litle tweaking.

Well its an old age Flashpoint problem but I've forgotten how to fix it as no one has mentioned it on this Forum for months. When ever I play Flashpoint I get bad mouse lag and the windows mouse cursor in the foreground of the game. I have the following spec if it helps solve this! AMD Athlon 1.4ghz 768mb PC133mhz SDRAM 2X 20gb Hard Drives 17" Monitor Creative Geforce III 56K Diamond Supra External Modem 4X Philips CDRW DVD ROM 56X CDROM

Hummmmm sounds like a classic case of PC slowdown syndrome. All PC's after large installs and deletes of files over 1gb or above always experience slows down even if they are 1.8ghz AMD beasts with a Geforce III. The best proven method of stopping this problem is a ScadDisk and Defrag every 2 months and an update of all major drivers, maybe even a Drive Format if its not to much trouble. 400mhz and a Voodoo 3 though are no longer a great gaming combination. Maybe an upgrade to a Geforce II and 800mhz would be a good choice if you don't want to go overboard on upgrade costs. I've found Window XP experinces less slowdowns than 98 and ME so this could maybe an idea for you. As for your weapon problems I've had none myself. Good Luck Anyway

I wouldn't even consider playing any games with Onboard Graphics!!!

I had the same problem for about 2-3 weeks but after a Scan Disk/Defrag and install of Nvidia 23.11 drivers it was fine. Flash Point now runs better than it did on any other of my operating systems! I have an AMD Athlon 1.4ghz 768mb RAM and Geforce III card.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disagree with the guy above me. My experience on Windows XP has only been brief as I've only had it a month but already it hammers my previous operating systems (Win98 and WinME) when it comes to gaming. When I installed it straigh away I noticed an increase of 10fps on all my games, plus Windows XP makes better use of your RAM. Flash Point runs a lot better through XP if u ask me. I have an AMD Athlon 1.4ghz and Geforce III.

For a game such as Flash Point a P4 or Athlon/TBird would be the best CPU to buy. The Celeron is generally not a strong CPU for gaming. They are mainly a budget CPU and are best suited to Office or Home use. I'd go with any of the AMD CPU's if I had a choice. Though you are right the Celeron is cheaper -

Building a computer your self is always the cheapest option, this is because you buy exactly what you want don't have to put up with people like Tiny Computers and various other companies messing about with your PC. I had a Tiny and found out one day that all the part were glue gunned in. I decided to build the PC I have now myself and I must say its a beauty. The spec is: AMD AThlon 1.4ghz 786mb RAM - SDRAM - Changing board soon so I can use DDR RAM as its faster than SDRAM! Geforce III 25gb Hard Drive - Soon to be 40gb! 17" Monitor Lexmark Z58 Printer Hewlett Packard 1600dpi Scanner 56K External Diamond Supra Modem - Soon to be ADSL! 8X Philips CDRW 72X CDROM/DVDROM Abit KT-133A Motherboard - Soon to be ASUS Board so I can use DDR! I recommend if you build a PC your self look on Ebay.co.uk for the parts or try and find a Computer fair. A good spec for Flashpoint would be: AMD Duron 1ghz 512mb RAM - DDR RAM 20gb Geforce II Ultra 52X CDROM Cable or ADSL connection for Netplay! Though of course being it your self you could build the ultimate beast of a PC if your budget allows you too. -
Hi All I've just noticed 3 Topics have all been posted more than once... If this was an accident plz stop doing it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with this. Cheers
