Someone metioned earlier about the license agreement with CloneCD saying how u have limited ablities if your using it within the USA. Â Well to get around it, change your computers settings to AFGANISTAN or some other 3rd world country and keep the language in English. Â Install the program and tell it your in that other country as well. Â Do the reboot the software asks for and then change your computer back (not CloneCD). Â Walla the work around for a totally unlocked version of CloneCD. I just use ClonyXL not XXL and haven't had any problems. As far as the legit value of having OFP and backing it up. Â I just install it from my original and then keep cracking the exe with the latest NO-CD patch. Â They even patch these updates! Â I'm up to 1.46 so far with no problems running on WindowsXP. *link removed* That's the best site for information on making backups and they also supply all kinds of no-cd cracks, patches, etc. Â You'll spend a bit of time reading on there. It's true, backing up this game takes like 5 hours, that's why I didn't do it, I just downloaded the no-cd and walla. I've only tried OFP on WindowsXP Professional and it's worked without a hitch. Well besides the normal hitches (sound bug and repeat bug). I wouldn't recommend either of the upgrades, just go for the full versions. I can't believe people are viewing/posting on Christmas Day! I'm at work from 8a-4p ... I'm just here wasting time 'til I go home.

Oh no 1 is down ... 1 is down ... d*amn 1 is down ... 2 is down, oh no, 2 is down ... d*amn 2 is down What the ####, 1.30 didn't have this problem, I upgrade to 1.40 and this happens in every MP game! Can I turn it off? Are they releasing a 1.41 patch to fix this?? Oh and the email notification of replies (to forum msgs) hasn't worked for the past couple of days.

If you have Win2K I wouldn't worry with the upgrade. I unfortunately couldn't find a working copy of Win2K and was stuck with WinME until I found WinXP. This OS has been great except for DOS. A lot of Keygen and crack/patch programs run in DOS which I can't do anymore unless someone knows a work-around or something. So besides that, and the $hitty Direct CD (Roxie/Adaptec) cd burning software which is included with XP, I've been a happy user. The gimmick with the activation and re-activation is avoidable with a Corperate Pro edition.

Installed directX 8.1 overtop of the 8.1 that I had been running from WinXP ... walla! Works now, thanks!

Nah I disabled that junk firewall ... though I am running Norton Internet Security 2002 ... but I have created rules for OFP access to the net and whatnot. Â Usually I just disable it during MP sessions. Good suggestion though, sorry I forgot to mention the FW.

Can no longer create or join MP games. Â Started about a week ago and I did what the FAQ said as far as the DXDIAG and other logs to be submitted along with my problem report. Â Unfortunately no answer so I looked around here on the forums and Lady Avalon's website (SP?) ... still no luck. Everything was working fine but one day I went to MP and when you get to where you select the map ... CTD. Â Over and over again. Â I tried changing display settings, removing programs I had installed recently, uninstalling/reinstalling OFP and 1.3 patch. I don't have CloneCD installed, but do have other burning programs which I will remove next and see what happens when I get home. Â I increased my Virtual Memory to like min/ 256 max/512 or something like that, I think it may have been more or even 512/512. Â I'm not at home right now to check. Â In any event it was enough cause it used to work. Â Any help is appreciated. <ul>My system specs ...
