  1. Can't someone just host the fixed files instead of just giving out the cpp? Though thank you for the cpps! If the files are released then everyone will be properly updated.
  2. Recently I have been thinking that it would be interesting to make a Siachen Glacier island for OFP. Well, mostly just my ideas for this island came from the battles fought by Indian/Pakistani soldiers on said glacier. I am not really interested in creating a replica of Siachen glacier for political reasons, nor do I have any interest in Pakistani/Indian addons because they don't exist. However I am thinking of attempting to make a Mountain chain with valleys, glaciers, peaks and ridges. Most of the area would be snow or rock textured. I would also add some firebases on some of the strategic points and smaller outposts as well as 1 or 2 basecamps. I think it would be pretty cool to have an island for mountain warfare because none exist. The only roads might be a few dirt trails in some of the lower valleys, thus making this an almost soley dedicated infantry island with only helicopter transport as a viable means of moving distances. Anyways, I must admit I must still learn to create an island. This is still at the idea phase and may never come together but I will try to attempt it. If anyone wants to offer help or has interest in taking over this idea they are more than welcome. I was just doing some research on the subject and thought it may be interesting. I would assume this is easier for a first island than others because there are no trees and towns etc... to place which seem to be the biggest complaint about island making. If I can learn how to make proper elevations and realistic looking mountains I may be able to do this.     Mountain warfare Island

    Smith, Afghanistan is a great island (good work!), but I want to create something even more remote and hostile than that. A place where only infantry and helicopters can operate. I don't want to have more than a few roads which won't even go to the higher elevations and at best they will be dirt tracks. I also want most of the area to be covered in snow. I geuss I will have to find someone to make white tents for the camps if I ever get this off the ground. Thanks for the reply!

    Malvinas mod had some Royal Marine Arctic Warfare Cadre included in their latest release, though you will have to change up the configs to get them working independently as West.

  10. The main CTD is caused by the G-wagon. Don't use it and you shouldint CTD. Worked for me.

    I agree that random textures are a bad idea. I think that it would do alot more harm then good. I'd rather a set of good units that will work without bugs.

    Perhaps make one of them have some sort of tighter fitting base layer like mountain climbers wear and a different colored watch cap. Tan or green pants would be cool too aswell as a plain "photographers vest" and maybe a Civilian backpack. IMO it would be sweet to have some guys who looked alot like civilians for different senarios. Sometimes its hard to blend in wearing US Camo pants and enough tactical gear for a regiment . Just a suggestion. Looking good buddy. BTW do you have any special AKs with side folding wire stocks and aimpoints above the handgaurd for these bad boys?
  13. Why would anyone want to use other modern addons on the Falklands? I think that would erode the spirit of this mod. If making Brits east keeps people from using F-14s and M1s on the Falklands then I am Happy. Grab a history book and find out what happened.
  14. The CTDs have not been that bad for me, now I just don't use the G-wagon (which isint essential anyways) and its all good. Sure I wish the British were west but It does not matter because they are part of a larger mod and not an independant addon. If I want to use parts of the british side with other addons I'll just edit the configs.

    I just saw the thread about these choppers on Military Photos and I'd prayed someone here was working on it! I agree, green and desert would be really cool. I think these will be amazing on Tonal island.
  16. Thanks Jimpy. I started to figure that the green smocks were some sort of special artic jacket when I noticed the Mountain and Arctic warfare cadre had some units wearing them aswell while I was making a mission to re-capture Top Maylo House.

Well technically Argentina and the US aren't exactly enemies either, just look at their Navy and Air Force which has a large amount of US stuff, most of their ships, subs, etc were given/bought from ther Americans. Not to mention the Uh-1s or the Skyhawks or their helmets. Anyways, since these units are mostly all specific to the Falklands it shouldint be a huge problem. If you want to use the Brits for non-falklands stuff you can easily mod the config file.
  18. In this release both wood and black SLRs and a trilux equipped black SLR are now avalible. However, the SLRs have semi and full auto fire modes. Theres also a new cold commando which is the BIS version but modified to have 2 20 round mags taped together. The SAS and SBS units are much improved since the last release. However, some of the para units have green smocks with DPM pants instead of DPM smocks and green pants.
  19. Ok, I was testing out units and the island and it seems that my previous CTDs were caused by the G-wagon not stanley or bluff cove as I had thought before. Now I have concluded that this mod is pretty sweet. Sure the siding of the units sucks but since its a full mod that doesn't really matter because I don't need to use other addons (I may use that LSD for the brits to start off on some missions). I really like the 35mm gun and that IBD or whatever that huge guided missle launcher is called. I'll have to make some missions when I have the time.

  21. So alot of people are having problems with the G-wagon? I'll try looking around the map without the G-wagon, now that I think about it there was always a G-wagon present in the areas of the map when I crashed. Dothe people who crashed with the G-wagon, are you able to go around the vicinity of bluff cove and stanley without crashing if a G-wagon is not present? If so that would be sweet because I can make a few missions minus the wagon which I don't find very important.
  22. Any ideas on the source of the CTDs or is everyone just huffing about the way the units are sided? canadian terror, maybe we should talk on msn since nobody else seems to care about the MOD itself, only the politics of it.
  23. I keep getting CTDs when I am on the eastern half of the island around bluff cove and stanley. I think it has to do with a certain rock or building model because it only happens when I look at certain things. Anyone else having this issue? Too bad because most everything else is kinda neat but I can't really make missions if I can't use the island. I hope someone fixes this.
  24. Oh and BTW, the mod looks nice, but i keep having CTDs, i think it has to do with looking at certain building. I seem to crash only when I look at the settlements, esspecially Stanley.
  25. I know that some people feel strongly about the fact that this team may or may not have "stolen" addons from other teams. However I think this is something that should be dealt with in private via PM or email etc... All this finger pointing will result in a big brawl with people taking sides and bitching about the ethics of mod making or it will discourage this mod from doing any more work. Please, if you have a problem contact malvinas in private and ask them to source their material, the public doesn't need to get involved. I'm not trying to stand up for malvinas team or start anything but I that this should be dealt with in private rather than start a something up. I realize that the team who may or may not have had work stolen are probably pissed and have every right to decree that their work has been stolen (shit, so would I!) but I think it would be really cool and proffessional to do this in private, if they refuse to source their work then perhaps that is the proper time for a public "lashing".
