@Lee, no problem or misunderstanding whatsoever m8, comparisons are inevitable to happen even though the modders don't like it... Just to make everything clear, we did note the fm attitude and we will work on that. I wish we had the fm understanding as well as RKSL do, but we are not there yet, and it would be inproper to ask anyone to provide hard earned data. That is the point of doing something entirely on your own. I am sure that RKSL guys would help us had we asked, but it feels disrespectful towards their hard work, and ours for that matter, to do so. Actually, the only help the modder should get is by...you, the people who honor the addons with their time and bandwith to play with them. So keep the feedback coming! Liongreek HWM Team

To elaborate on Aplion's post, we are really trying hard to learn how stuff works, and for us it is trial and error. I do not think it is appropriate to incorporate somebody else's hard work in ours. As with any addon maker we are trying to be as creative and original as can be. RKSL have done a great job with their addons. As stated before, it has been one of my favorites. I can understand the good nature of comments by people saying that we should seek help by them in that matter, but keep in mind that by doing this is like asking a fusion of the best parts of both addons. Ideal, but not feasible. So keep telling us what you don't like, give us a description on how would you see it different. Rest asure that we are already over the drawing board looking at things to change... ...and pls do not forget that we are neither getting paid nor are we game developers, so elaborate requests are difficult to honor... It seems we were lazy too...good call, minor detail but annoying nevertheless @xnodunitx yes, a -D is in our plans, actually we contemplated making a dual release, but we haven't been able to present an acceptable electronics suite. It would be like we released two helis with differences in modeling but with the same capabilities. So, the Longbow remains on the shelf until we incorporate functions that truly honor its design. @GD actually, as with all choppers in ArmA, the main rotor turns counterclockwise. Check it on yr editor. If the Apache is meant to be different, I really could not find sth relevant on the net, so pls let us know if you do and we'll add it to the list. ---edited---oh you meant the TAIL rotor...right on that one, it needs fixing. Good call.---edited--- Liongreek HWM Team

Duly noted. As Sparky has pointed out a an earlier post, we didn't have the chance or manpower to check all aspects, but feedback is feedback, so we'll see what we can do. Liongreek HWM Team

@Lee, Actually, the Apache being the most agile and manoeuverable attack helicopter in the world, it CAN do loopings and siderolls...lots of videos on youtube on this, check it out. Once again, you are expecting too much from a helicopter designed in a game primarily made as a spinoff of a infantry training module. We are not Bohemia Interactive, we cannot manipulate the game engine to expand the game to realistically depict flight simulator aspects. Everything in this game vehicle-wise was created to post a threat to an infantry squad, no provisions were made to give a real feeling with the machinery...I can do loopings with the Black Hawk as well, unfortunately... Given that, we sincerely regret we cannot provide an accurate flight model, or any behaviour model for that matter. ArmA does not handle flight models, it handles gravity points and there's not much someone can do about it. As for FOV, since it has been already noted, we will give it a second look...
-
no offence taken man, you were crystal clear and that's the kind of critisism we aim for. As a flight sim entusiast myself, I'd love to see the chopper handle the right way... We will keep experimenting as much as we can! Again thanks for the comments and...keep them coming!!

well, a matter of opinion there m8, I quite like the new angle, with my TIR4 it does have a nice view of the pit... now, as for functionality, we'll have to wait and see a few missions to check it I guess... ...anyone up for it btw?
-
thanks 4 the feedback, much appreciated.. as 4 fm in ArmA, well, you can imagine the restrictions, as the game is not Flight Simulator or, even better, BlackShark. I know what you mean for EricM helos, especially the Hind has been my fav for a long time. Bear in mind though that the Hind is a gunship, it even has a limited team carrying capability, and as such it is quite heavier than the Apache... Based on that, and other aspects of helo depiction, we tried to make the Ah-64A a bit more...agile, shall we say. But, as Sparky pointed out, we can only do so much... As always we are open to suggestions, so it will be looked into in due time. Thanks again Liongreek, HWM Team
-
...well, it does seem a bit more...agile, doesn't it? That will teach us not to experiment with the flight characteristics of the AH-64D Longbow that is up next onto the poor old Huey... Duly noted on our ToDo list EricM, good call m8! As for the technicals, well, that's up to the other guys, I just provide the beer...
-
We tried to depict the actual flight characteristics by presenting the model to real Huey pilots of the Hellenic Army Aviation. Though we had enormous feedback, we could not actually make the helicopter as per their specs, since ArmA is not a flight sim. I guess you could say that it is as close as we could get... Give it a try in the new release and let us know what you think. Btw, I suppose that you are the one responsible for those great Hind beta versions...Well done m8!

We are aware of this, we are currently reworking the sounds a bit, among other stuff...thanks for the comment!

Again, I would like to see a close up view of the mountains. I have been having trouble with satellite images in close range, looking from a soldier's point of view. Of course, I'm not an island maker-by far, I'm only starting-but it really looks promising, either from a scenario or a map point of view... Keep it up! P.S.: Glad we got back on track, respect to Placebo

MehMan, your reference and reasoning to this issue is quite off the mark. There are lots of 'innocent' references to such sensitive issues that everyone is getting a bit touchy about it. Anyway, as it is, any creator names its creation as they see fit. You didn't have to comment on that dragging another highly controversial issue to the topic. Granted, you are not obliged to know how seriously these issues are taken, but please bear in mind that they really are. I say let's all leave this thread alone and move any of this discussion in other forum areas. Now, on topic, the screens look awsome, how abouy some close ups? I would love to see how the ground looks from soldier's level, I understand that it will be your most difficult task to make it look that good. Keep it up!

yeah...I wish ArmA was a bit more Special Forces oriented. Though a good many people produce some cool stuff like rappelling etc., it would be nice to actually have them as part of the whole package... sorry for the Off-Topic, just got romantic there for a moment... Liongreek HWM Team

sounds good Robert! When you have the time, could you post the engine start up with this sound? It's something worth seeing in the future...
