Well the picies simhq posted in their article seems as though they where from the actual game being played or they might have been from a video that was being shown in full screen. We will never know!

What is this post all about eh? I can't see what the problem is here guys. Codemaster own the name Operation Flashpoint therefore BIS are not releasing a game called Operation Flashpoint 2. Easy as that. BIS are not helping maters by leaving this board as the Operation Flashpoint 2 board. That is probably what is confusing people. Once again... There will only be 1 game called Operation Flashpoint 2 and it will be released by Codemasters. Full stop!!!! BIS have a completely seperate game that is based on the original but IS NOT called Operation Flashpoint 2. What is so hard to understand??? Codies have got a trademark and are going to try and make as much money out of it. Its buisness people, get over it.

So it looks like evryone is going to keep on calling the 'Unamed Game' OFP2 even though it isn't called that. BIS need to poll the forum to seem what it should be called, fast.

What the hell is going on here , you guys have taken a simple issue and twisted it in to something so intricate and senseless  , OFP2 is BEING MADE , RALPH saw it at BISs stand , they ARE making it name might be different but OFP2 is there its being made , and there is NO OFP3 as of yet. OFP AA is for PC and will be released later this year , and OFP2's date might be delayed further back from Q4 2006 if AA is being released to keep us busy to further develop OFP2.  I dont mind that at all. We all agree that there is going to be WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED Operation Flashpoint 2. This is a known fact. It is NOT known yet that the above mentioned game is going to be called that because of the tif between Codies and BIS. Until the end of tommorrow we do not know if a game called OFP2 is going to be release. All we know is that a game is going to be anounced tommorrow (what would have been OFP2). Its still going to be the same game, its just we don't know it name yet. And if the other two press releases are anything to go by, then it is mostly like that this game will not be published by Codies and thus will not carry the name OFP2 (Operation Flashpoint 2).

At last, we are all starting to understand that AA is not called OFP AA, the xbox game doesn't have a name yet, and the game tommorrow doesnt have a name either! BIS need to change the forum names quick to end all the confusion!

read it again..it says Q3 2005 So what, the sweet ass graphics that we saw is OFP 2 AND it will be released by codies? Somehow i don't think so. AA is not OFP2! Â If the game tommorrow is not being published by codies then it wont be called OFP2 and thus OFP2 as far as we know is not being developed. Being that the press release has now come out about AA, i just had a gander on amazon to see if they have added it (i knew it wasn't going to be there, but heh i'd thought i'd have a search) and it came back with this POS game.... COSMI Patton: Armed Assault

So the new 'No named game' will be released no earlier than the end of 2006. Thats a wait and a half... Oh well, role on 2007...

No, im not getting confused, im just reading the build numbers that have been given to the program. The conclusion here is that BIS made a bobo with their build numbers? OFP should have been 1.0.0 to 1.0.96 Thus AA will be 1.5.xxx

Mate, you need to get your version nunbers right. We already have OFP 1.5!!! That was released ages ago, we are now running 1.96!!! Sesh!

I've gotta agree with you. Come on people look at the facts!!! OFP is codies trademark, the screenies for AA are crap compared to the other screenies that have been leaked. Therefore, unless the addon has nothing to do with OFP/Codemasters and is a completely new game... no addon (VBS maybe?) then its got to be the xbox version.

To quote myself a few pages back  Personally I think Armed Assault will be a rerelease of the improved flashpoint engine to keep us happy until OFP2  I don't understand how they can do that though??? So it would be a new game altogether?? As OFP is version 1.96 at the moment, and we all know that they can't release it as OFP 1.97 so they are going to call it Armed Assualt?? That will confuse matters for a few people. I might as well be a new game if they are going to rerelease OFP under a new name but with an updated engine? Surely that would have to be OFP release under Codies???

Right!!! i Understand now.... AA - XBox version of OFP. Its gonna be called AA or something similar because reading at the bottom of the press release it says OFP is a codies trademark. OFP2 - Well all i can say is that this MUST leave those sweet ass pictures to be OFP2 or what ever this is going to be called thanks to codies owning the OFP trademark.
