Hi. I'm having problems installing the 1.91 patch. I originally had trouble loading up Resistance as I always received Data CRC errors. However after reading the Avon Lady's FAQ and searching the forums I was able to find a work around and install Resistance by copying the whole CD to my HDD and deleting the checksum file, so my current version is 1.75. My question is - Can I do the same thing with the self-extracting exe file for 1.91? I know the reason why I get CRC errors is due to a compatability issue with my Shuttle AK39 motherboard which I still cannot correct. If I simply ignore the errors it corrupts my game and I need to reinstall. All thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

All you need to do is delete the relevant cookie in your cache as the user name of your friend is stored in this. You can delete your cookies in Tools/Internet Options if you're using IE. Not sure where it is for Netscape. Or you can dowload a program like Cookie Viewer if you don't want to delete all of your cookies. If you are really adventurous you can try and find the cookie manually in Explorer

Would someone mind explaining to me what l33t and l337n3ss mean? I see it all the time yet I can't work out what it means.

My favourite will be hearing, whilst playing XBox OFP multiplayer over the internet, shouts of "Owned" by thirteen year olds everytime I'm killed, even if I'm on their team.

I've never been a big fan of console gaming. But I feel the XBox is going to change this for me. With the massive price cut I'm going to buy one next week. I'm hoping that Flashpoint on the XBox will be tweaked to take advantage of the XBox GPU and things like the AI are improved. If BIS get it right they setting themselves up for bigger and better things, and I believe they throughly deserve it. My only fear is that they "dumb" the game down to make it more appealing to the average Johnny Quaker

Wobble - You have a good point about the age of some of the XBox's components compared to state-of-the-art PC parts. Â I'm running OPF on an Athlon 1.2ghz, 512mb SDRam and a GeForce 2 Mx400. Â I can run everything on max detail at 1024x768 and it looks very pretty (to me) and there's no/little slowdown. Â The XBox has a 733mhz quasi-Celeron/PIII chip (which one is it? It only has 128kb of L2 cache) which appears underpowered and only has 64meg of ram. Â However because it doesn't have to worry about running a bloated OS in the background and the ram is DDR wouldn't this make it comparable, performace wise, to some of the more powerful PC's? Â Plus I believe the GPU is an NV20 which is in between a GeForce 3 and 4. Â I'm sure this would be able to handle the graphics a lot better than my horribly underpowered Mx400. Â But I do concede the point about the Tv's resolution being a downside. Just for the record, I don't own an XBox, nor am I a system "fanboy". Â But I am thinking of buying an XBox, and the quality of OPF on it is a big factor for me.

I know this might seem sacrilegiousto some of you, but as a lot of you probably know, Operation Flashpoint will make an appearance on the XBox. What I'm wanting to know is: 1. Will it include Red Hammer. They talk about "The Original Campaign" and Resistance. 2. How much will the engine be tweaked to take advantage of the XBox's GPU? I've read that the XBox is very good at handling particle effects and when a grenade is thrown in Halo the dirt blown up looks very nice. The thing I'm most looking forward to about the port is the ability to play MP as at the moment I only have a lowly 56k connection, but hopefully I will be able to play splitscreen DM/CoOp. Porting to the XBox will also open up OPF to a plethora of new players who never had the opportunity to play on PC. However we will once again have this forum flooded by n00b fanboys complaining about not being able to run/jump with the rpg, dying from one hit, and that the game is unrealistic.

Sorry. I didn't make a distinction between the credits. I was talking about about the original credits. The reason why I brought this up was that the guy who shoots the American looks like Lukin, however this was before the Red Hammer campaign was available.

Hi. I apologise if this has already been covered but I searched for previous posts AND checked the Avon Lady's FAQ. Anyway, does anyone know why Dmitiri Lukin was busted back to private? I don't ever recall finding out. Then the other night when I was watching the credits (in which I might add I have watched about a zillion times as I think it's the best credits sequence of any game), I noticed that the guy who executes that American armoured soldier looks just like Dmitri Lukin. Is this him and was he kicked out of the Spetz Natz for shooting PW's? Or am I just seeing things?

Hi. Would someone mind explaining to me the difference Super AI makes. I've searched earlier posts in the forum and they say that it puts the soldiers skill up to the maximum. Does this mean the enemy is better at spotting you? Or they work together in fire-teams? Thanks
