    Rifle slings

I wouldn't mind seeing the option to use a sling to improve your accuracy--perhaps by including something like a Ching Sling in the game, and increasing stability when firing from supported positions with a rifle that has one. And for people who prefer single point slings, they could add a chance of randomly shooting yourself in the foot. :-)

    Arma3 Sharks!?!

On that note, I think it's inevitable that some modder will create sharks (both with and without frikin laser beams attached to their heads) shortly after launch.

KSG shotgun and its possible functionality

I think the system would support it--after all, you can switch between rifle and grenade launcher. On the other hand, even if the KSG is in the game it might end up being like the RFB--turned into a magic underwater gun that fires 5.56mm. I would like to see the real KSG in the game, though, even if it ends up being something that's done by modders later. Sadly, I think I'll see a KSG in Arma 3 (one way or another) before I manage to find one in real life...

    JUMP please!!

I actually like that there's not a jump. I've played games where everyone is running sideways in circles while jumping three feet in the air continuously, and it's a sure way to guarantee that I find some other game to spend my money on.

The Fictional MX Rifle series, why?

THe MX series is the Robinson XCR, but with the fictional caseless ammo. The XCR is a Kalashnikov derivative, and it actually is one of the "Individual Carbine" entries, although I can't imagine it ever winning in real life as Robinson Arms is a small company owned by an actual person--they don't have the resources the provide six-figure salary "consulting" jobs for the generals in charge of the competition after they retire. I don't think having the US military use XCRs is any more unrealistic than having them fighting Iran on a Greek island. Honestly, the caseless ammo as the standard service round strikes me as far more unrealistic. I could see Iran doing that as they're an independent country not tied to the US empire and its massive inertia. Addendum: I noticed that the MX has a reciprocating charing handle, which the XCR doesn't have. No idea if that's an attempt to differentiate the MX from the real gun, or if whoever is in charge of game animations just didn't know.
  6. The MX actually isn't fictional--it's the Robinson Arms XCR. The round it fires is fictional, and I actually do agree that having the US adopt a currently nonexistent caseless round in the next 22 years is implausible (also, while the XCR is designed for easy calibre change, I'm skeptical that it would actually work with a caseless round). Personally, I can't see an organization as hidebound as the US military replacing 5.56x45mm that soon, but if they were going to I think it would more likely be one of the various real-world alternatives that have been developed in recent years, such as 6.8mm SPC or .300 Blackout.

    BAF install problem

I downloaded it from store.bistudio.com via Sprocket, and it's called "BAFSetup.exe," so I'm pretty sure. :-) I figured out the answer myself, though. The trick was to extract BAFSetup.exe into a folder using 7zip, then go into that folder and run the setup.exe found within. Once I did that, it prompted me for my serial number and then installed correctly.
  8. I've purchased the BAF expansion from store.bistudio.com, and am attempting to install it with ARMA 2 Combined Operations (purchased from the same place). When I run BAFSetup, it extracts and then launches Catalyst Install Manager. I already have the latest Catalyst drivers, but I've tried both canceling the installer and letting it run. Either way, once it exits nothing else happens. At no time do I see an installer for the actual BAF product. I searched around and couldn't find anything about this problem. How should I proceed?

    New VBS2 features

When I ordered it through their web store for civilians, the invoice number was 36. So, probably not too many. :-)

    New VBS2 features

I'm one of those civilians who bought VBS2. My main hobby is photography, so I think my perspective on spending $1500 is probably a bit different than someone whose main hobby is $30 computer games. ;-) So far I've just been playing scenarios other people created, and slowly learning the mission editor. Some things that I like about VBS2 over ArmA so far: 1. The AAR tool. Worth the entire cost all by itself. 2. Grenade launchers are much better done in VBS2. Instead of having a useless but pretty iron sight, you "lock on" a target by right clicking, then elevate the weapon until a diamond appears around the target signifying the correct elevation. I can actually hit things with an M203 in VBS! Also, you get a realistic grenade load. 3. Suppression for players. A near miss makes the screen flare white and your aim point jumps.
