    I'm getting that error now, too (on v1.08 US), although mine is 2048x1024 (size 2818048 B). I've been running maxmem=512 since I got the error the first time on 1.06. I CTD'd so I changed it to 768. CTD, changed to 1024. CTD, changed back to 512. I didn't CTD but that could have been because I went to bed shortly thereafter.
