mmm...SEB PACK...very nice indeed!!...my father was a door gunner on uh1's for the USMC...man that is nice stuff the mods that is ...but blackdog ya know what i mean though bro? having a few players at least slugging it out in the field...NO CTF..yuck...and trying to conqueror a small village and such...and then the progress of the fighting a particular province being documented and meaning something....and if lets say the us loses a few battles and has to fall back in the province and the nva or vc get the more advantageous missions...i hope im making myself clear..sometimes i have a hard time doing that..just ask my wife!...o man.....

well in regards to yer comments blackdog...i see yer point totally..hey i asked for criticism and i got it totally..plus most important you were very very fair...one thing i will say..is the guys hwo released the ranger camos...they did it pretty dmn nice...they used the ranger tab ABOVE the ranger scroll very nice..i liked that..thats what i was alking about on detail..anyway onto this thing...i guess what im saying is..i can see the whole new engine thing haviing to take place...but maybe this could happen have a dedicated server ..i guess for like an ofp vietnam ournament...with vietnam mod and see how units do against each other...and then show a progress report on the map being played for that week..battle reports etc...im sorry if i seem all over th eplace...im kinda tired but had to get this off my chest. i hope you all see what i mean...as for the vietnam mod...where is the link to it? so i can view the site and details etc...

well the provinces wouldnt have to be an island...i mean vietnam only has one long coast line....i can understand the time it would take...but why did BIS appreoach such a wonderful conept like this game the way they did?...i mean the ww2 online guys had a great concept ran with it..and are barely afloat..but still their game trudges along (albeit uphill) .....seems ofp shoulda done the same thing like ww2 online...and the game would be holding more than water and would be smoking games like bf1942 etc...know what i mean?

ok here is what i am thinking...first i like ofp...it is a wonderful 'open source' game if you will..but of course we have a small problem with it..not many people play it..am i correct on this? man i hope not..the folks over at lamespy seem to NOT have it together on promoting this fantastic game and it seems that BIS kind of missed the ball when it came to playing multiplayer as a team based game to begin with. so what i propose is making the game into more like a ww2 online thing..where thousands of people come together on both sides of the 'front' and fight for vietnam. it builds wonderful teamplay and can be extremely fun. each side can mount campaigns against each other in a total world environment with squads of infantrymen, special forces, air force armor and air cavalry can really be a huge thing. with that being said, what do you all think? please inform me of the possibilities by all means. lastly here is what i am thinking in regards to an actual mod..the first thing i think everyone is missing,,especially from wonderful mod makers who have enormous talent ....is history. what i mean be history is research research research. research the units that were in vietnam. all the way from aircraft detail to unit (actual units like the 173rd airborne brigade etc.) uniforms that contain actual combat patches ,subdued badges like the combat infantryman's badge on the uniform, and actual rank insignia (subdued) and skill tabs (ranger airborne special forces tabs). make EVERYTHING look as historically accurate as possible. no questions asked. i know that when i fly a uh1 it has to look a certain way and fly a certain way as close to history as possible. the same thing with driving a tank or humping the bush; i want my characther or vehicle to look as detailed as possible, and coming close to history as possible. also i have taken a huge look at the actual maps that are considered vietnam. great maps, and extremely wonderful detail to say the least. but heres a problem. why not build a huge ass map that is total land and will feature a specific province in vietnam each week? for example, the province of quang tri featured heavy action. ..and then just piece this all together and voila there is vietnam the country. heck we could even make the maps that feature da nang air base, tan so nhut airbase and cam rahn bay. once these 'pieces' of the map are done, then they can be combined into a huge mmpog world and every week will feature one piece of the 'vietnam' world and hundreds of players, each with seperate missions to perform. it could be recon or patrols, to ambush poiints to s/d missions to bombing runs on enemy out posts to just old resupply missions and also to negotitating with the people of vietnam itself. all the while keeping things as accurate as possible historically that is. just my 2 scents. please post what you all think. any criticism is accepted and any encouragement is too.
