Same Prob here.... since my CoLocation-Hoster chose to change the DNS-Name of my rented Server, Resistance dedicated doesn't start anymore.....
-
Hi! Following Problems here: 1. Whenever I ALT+TAB out of OFP 1.85, I'm sending a LOUD WHITE NOISE over Teamspeak2 to all my Teammates. I then have to disconnect from Teamspeak and restart it to get rid of it. Sometimes I'm able to ALT+TAB 10 times without problems, but the 11th time I get this problem... So far I have 3 Teammates deaf, 8 with hearing problems... 2. Sometimes, all sounds are gone! It's like I'm deaf all of a sudden! These 2 Problems first appeared after installing 1.85! I did NOT change anything on my system (except installing Patch 1.85)... Tried everything, from re-installing every known Driver for the SB Live! to pulling down the Hardware-Acceleration... nothing helped! So I believe it's a OFP-Issue... System: P4 1800 768 MB RAM SB Live! Player 1024 (latest Creative Driver, dated 17/07/02, 25 MB) Windows XP Prof. SP 1 OFP: Resistance 1.85 Any Ideas?
-
*pushup* Cannot fight any clanwars anymore in 1.85!
-
I have 768 MB of RAM in my PC, should be fairly enough! And, I want to point it out again, it ALWAYS worked until OFP 1.85 came out! How come it worked up to 1.75 and suddenly it doesn't work anymore??? So it definitely MUST be something they changed between 1.75 and 1.85, because nothing changed except OFP-Version! And please have a look at Problem #2! THAT one occurs even without ALT+TABbing! And, you guessed it, it showed up first in 1.85!
-
Ahem.... I am ALT-Tabbing out of EVERY Application without problems, it workes VERY GOOD in OFP until 1.85 Client was installed..... So PLEASE..... don't tell me to "not do it", okay? I NEED to be able to ALT-TAB out of OFP, just to connect/reconnect to my Voice-over-IP Program in case of a crash.... so you're telling me to leave the server and shut down OFP first??? Nope, that's NOT an option here!

Somehow I'm unable to upload and start User-created Missions. I only see all the "official" Missions when I'm on the server.... I uploaded "espl-everonwar.pbo", it is in the mpmissions folder but it is NOT shown by the server! Even restarted the Server, it still does not show the uploaded missions. We can only "see" and choose official Missions! Executing tolower tells me that "No file-names were converted"... Help...

Had a huge 1.88 Test yesterday... - Connecting does take longer than on 1.85, but slightly less than on 1.75. - Had a small desync boost once (within 4 hours!), great job! - No major LAG noticed. - Some "missing Addons" messages, but we could play it nevertheless! The mentioned missing addon wasn't even used in that mission we played! All in all, great job, BI!
-
Got it working now, too! In order to let it use the config.cfg, I had to start it using ./server -config=config.cfg D'oh! But I have some Problems with User-made Missions... some rumors say that everytime someone uploads a user-made mission, the whole Linux-Dedicated has to be recompiled again? Is that true?
-
Is there any official Linux-Dedi-Buglist?? - Hostname in server.cfg ignored - Join-Password in server.cfg ignored (NOT the Admin, that one IS taken!
-
If you already hosted OFP-Servers, you already HAVE several Win-Servers standing NEXT TO the Linux-Servers! So for me it's absolutely okay to move some GB's across the Network between my Servers... I'm glad that there finally IS a Linux-Version of OFP, it's a major step to get rid of this crappy Windows-Stuff and fully migrating to Linux, setting OFP-Linux up right now to test it.... A big THANX to BI for giving the community what it needed the most!

You really messed up big time here!!!<span id='postcolor'> 1. calm down! 2. No CD needs to be in the CD-R! I patched ALL our servers without any CD in the Drive! I patched my Home-OFP-Client with a Battlefield1942 and a UT2003-CD in both drives!

Where is Dedicated Server 1.85 PATCH?

What about the announced CPU-Optimization? Right now, 1.75 uses up 100% of CPU, regardless ifg it's a P4 1.8 GHz or a PIII 1 GHz or whatever. 2 Questions: 1.) Is CPU-Usage going down significantly? 1.46 was great compared to 1.75! 2.) How much CPU does the Linux Server eat up? I'm a Server-Hoster and right now we can only host 2 Resistance Servers on a Dual-CPU Machine, but we could host 4 OFP 1.46 Servers....
-
...but it doesn't work with 1.75!

Same problem here... People keep on disconnecting all the time, even when no map is being played. Happened to me yesterday 7 times before I gave up. Some then have this message "Connection failed" and have to reboot their system... Sometimes I even get to start the map with the others, but then, after a few minutes into gameplay, I get a red square in the lower right corner. After 70 Seconds (no message received for 70 Seconds) I get disconnected with the message "Connection lost to player Kabukiman". This NEVER EVER happened with OFP 1.46!

I just checked and there are some dedicated servers shown in ASE. But how on earth did they get them to show up in ASE??? There's a lot more dedi's on the Ingame Browser than on the ASE. I wonder if it has to do with the "Master-Server"-Setting in server.cfg which was introduced somewhere between Patch 1.20 and 1.30?!? Maybe Resistance doesn't send Info to Master Server without telling it to do so? I'll try....

I think none of you did catch the solution Hees offered on the udp forum. There's a post by me some pages ago with a link to a *working filter* for ASE to list OFP:R games. If you also apply a custom config including the FlashpointResistance.exe you may FIND Games and PLAY fine... Only thing needed is this filter making it to the next ASE update.... Over. http://www.udpsoft.com/forum/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=762<span id='postcolor'> Those filters do NOT show dedicated Servers! We're hosting several Resistance (dedicated) Servers and they're NOT shown! I tried it and since the last weekend I'm refreshing, but only a few Servers are shown although we alone host 15, there are still only 12-14 shown, and none of ours!

Resistance or "standard" OFP? Hosts.txt doesn't work with Resistance!

Nah, it's not strange, it just prooves the Statement that "Resistance doesn't change OFP in any form"!
-
To connect to old OFP-Servers (1.46-1.49) you'll need the "old" CD and start the "old" OFP. To connect to "new" Resistance Servers (1.75) you'll need the "new" Resistance CD and start the Resistance Game.
-
Hey Christer, You're absolutely right! You still can start the old OFP-Client, only thing to do before is putting the old OFP-CD into the CD-ROM to play! Yesterday, I tried to connect to our 1.49 Clanserver with 1.75 Resistance. Got an error message saying "Wrong Version. Server rejected connect." (or something like that). But it definitely works with the old game.exe!
-
Since you didn't know how to log in as Admin, I doubt you know how to control the beast anyway... So what next? Imagine you "found out" your password, what do you plan to do next? Just sit there and smile because of the "Admin" displayed next to your name? You really should read those DS-Admin.rtf and DS-User.rtf which came with all recent dedicated Server Updates!
-
I just checked again and Multiplayer is NOT, repeat: NOT using the new Terrain-Detail Feature! Why???
-
Which will never happen, because, as I wrote earlier in this Thread, the InGame Voice of OFP is plain simply using the "built-in" VoiceOverIP of DirectPlay...
