i agree its an amazing game, on the south island I can play huge battles in the desert with decent performance but urban combat and North Sahrani are impossible with shocking fps and missing textures. I just hope its fixed, and soon!

if i had a different CPU other than a P4 I wouldn't have to wait for new ATI drivers so I can play a game that i bought four months ago. All I can say is that if ATI drivers 7.5 fix the handle leak but there is no improvement in performance in Arma and the latest beta patch doesn't improve things then i give up!

Anyone with an ATI Video card experiencing the handle leak present in all catalyst drivers (except 6.7) IF the 7.5 drivers when released (any day now) still have no mention of ARMA and the handle leak can we all please hound,complain,abuse the ATI AMD website, phonelines, forums so that they fix this problem as it is doing my nut in. Can you imagine, a new ATI catalyst driver with no handle leak and improved performance in arma? I'll keep dreaming......

I'm getting the LOD bug more than ever. Whats going on? Has this patch fixed problems with the 8800 at the expense of other video cards? Plus, Please will you fix the damage settings to Aircraft. Helis and Planes are getting shot down way to easily now by APC's tanks and fixed machine guns. Surely this is not very realisitic!!! -
1.07 causes a drop in framerates compared to 1.05. Is this because its a Beta patch and not a normal patch. Will the final 1.07 patch run more smoothly or is this what I should be expecting? I did some FPS tests  playing the exact same mission (in Corazal) 5 times using each version. The average results don't make good reading for me. 1.05 - Average FPS 22 1.07 - Average FPS 17 all settings on normal with PP and blood on low.

Trigger to detect destroyed Urals

cheers mate i'll try the trigger commands later. The URALS have a side (OPFOR) and OPFOR men attached to them so why when I place a "destroy" waypoint on both urals none of the BLUFOR team attempt to destroy the URALS even though I have a team full of saboteurs!! Also, in command mode it only gives the option to "get in" the urals and not "target ural" so i can't tell my team to blow the URALS up! -
Okay, its probably simple really but I don't know how to do it. How do I set a trigger up to detect if two urals have been destroyed so that this triggers objective "1" done. When I've destroyed all the enemy troops near the ural the trigger activates even though the urals haven't been destroyed. Do the opfor Urals not count as Opfor not present??? Also, why won't friendly AI destroy the urals even though i have a destroy waypoint on the Urals?

Helicopter extraction

i've sorted it (without reading any of these comments first). Basically, I had the get in waypoint for the units OVER the helipad instead of next to it. This is why the chopper didn't land! Somewhere I read to put both the load and get in waypoints on top of each other. WRONG!! -
I have a Sapphire X1650 pro and did have loads of problems (like shocking FPS, loads of texture corruption), however since changing drivers from Catalyst 7.2 to 6.7 and installing ATI Tray tools instead of CCC i'm getting much better performance. The texture corruption is only slightly visible now and FPS averages between 15-25 in cities and 20-40 elsewhere. I have all settings on normal except texture and objects on low and visibility on 1600. A HIS is better than a sapphire so you should be able to play smoothly . Install ATI tray tools and manually overlock your card to the recommended limit. Put all settings on either performance or application controlled.

I've done a search for this but can't see anything. Help would be appreciated. I can't get a UH60 to extract two remaining units once the mission is complete. I've created an invisible heli pad with a get in waypoint attached to the units and a load waypoint attached to the UH60. Both waypoints are ontop of each other and ontop of the heli pad. Once the units get to the heli pad the chopper arrives but it just hovers in the air and doesn't land. I've tried everything, like syncronising the waypoints, different waypoints for the units (get in nearest, load) different waypoints for the heli (load, unload etc) nothing works. Any clues??

I found this in the changelog for Beta version of 1.06 5138 - Fixed: Measures implemented to avoid textures being placed in AGP, which often caused degraded performance after prolonged playing. Deevius, have you noticed any difference? Thought not!

you have to laugh everyone, its pretty damn funny really! Instead of playing the sodin game , everyone has to scowl the net for solutions on how to 'FIX A BUG' that basically RUINS the enjoyment of playing Arma. I have tried every solution on this topic yet nothing has worked. I still get the texture loading issue. Teamswitching is the worst, especially in towns when basically I lose the textures of everything for 2-3 seconds. I really spoils that immersive feeling the game provides. Please BIS, sort it out, and quick!

Well said mate, your not the only one. Like yourself  I have tried everything under the sun to get this damn texture bug to go away. But it won't, its a problem with the game itself and we should all get a bloody refund. BBfore they actually sold the game to all us 'diehard OFP' fans they should have actually tested the thing to see if it works with their advertised RECOMMENDED SPEC. Perhaps then they would have changed the recommended spec to: Intel Core Duo 2 4Gig RAM £399 512MB Video Card NOT MADE BY ATI, SAPPHIREetc Then below the spec they should've wrote This setup will give you a smooth 20FPS on ARMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything less will give you a slide showa and pretty polygons

You sound like you've just about had it with ARMA. I don't blame you mate. I've never spent so much time trying to get a game to play properly. There seems to problem after problem. We should all get a refund! Refund for Arma, refund for stupidly expensive video cards that don't work, refund for all the internet bills when searching for solutions to yet more ARMA problems.
