  1. Hi all again ! I know now why I had this so currious fact. My Win profile target the folder 'My Document' to a LAN Hard Drive (path like \\hard_drive\share\My Document). This is not good for ArmA II. I solved this trouble with the tweak -profile explained here : http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/-profiles So I created a Profiles folder in ArmA's folder and I now launch the game with this : "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" "-profiles=C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Profiles" Everything is working well. Enjoy ! Jean-Marc
  2. I everyone here ! I Didn't saw this post before today. I'm french 39 old and I play BIS from OFP. OFrP is a must have for a french gamer. Numerous other mods too, Too Young To Die was one of the best for me. ArmA (1) didn't caught me at all, but I try now ArmA II (and I encounter a huge bug : I can't launch Campaign !). I still play OFP, nearly each day. Enjoy freedom in all beautifull maps ! Cheers, Jean-Marc
  3. Hi all, please help me as I'm going realy crazy. I bought ArmA II DVD (in France), I loaded it on a HP Z600 (2 x Xeon E5520, 6 Gb, Quadro FX1800), with Win 7 x64); very stable PC. Here is what appen : I can use very well Scenarios, Boot Camp, Armory. No pb at all. Do Scenarios & Boot Camp need to be all 'finished' and 'won' to gain access to Campaign ? When I try to launch Campaing, I get sub-menu with Harvest Red, I select it, I clic on 'Continue' button (bottom right), Start appear (in the list and replace also the bottom right button), so, you guess ? I just clic onto it, then, the Difficulty panel appears, HERE is the bug : -> anything I clic onto Difficulty panel and then Start button, I COME BACK to the Start menu panel ! And then I turn Difficulty -> Start -> Difficulty -> Start Difficulty -> Start Difficulty -> Start Difficulty -> Start Difficulty -> Start... and so on ! What a fun game, isnt it ?! Going like a fool, like Michael Douglas in Falling Down !!! So, I tried to uninstall / reinstall, I tried with no patch & with 1.05, I tried to modify rights on game folder, I tried all retro compatibility modes... as far as I know, I searched for campaign access troubles and... I found something only about ArmA (first). Not exactly the same case, but close to my case. Nothing anyway. Thank's to all you could suggest me, I'd realy like to play campaign :-) ! ArmA II seams to be a realy good game, as OFP is (I still play OFP today). Jean-Marc

    Flashpoint Community Hardware Specs.

Hi all ! I now precise my question ! My precedent post was too long and not realy clever or explicit. Simply it's : What about building a realy strong and power today PC to run OFP ? Is there any kind of hardware to get a better use ? Something to know about pieces to avoid ? Last point : what real concrete perf do you get (resolution, FPS, distance view & detail) ? I now should precise you that I'm a kind sceptic about perfs I observe with some PCs... I mean that I expected better than that I get. Is it the right place to discuss about that ? Thank's.

    Flashpoint Community Hardware Specs.

Hi everyone here... I'm new on this newsgroup and I read all of this topic and others. I also tried several search into the forum. My question is about OFP perfs and recent heavy PC configs. What about building a today PC only to play with OFP ?... I know it's a little bit curious, but I'd like to inveqstigate that way... I remember that the game is currently many years old, and won't take any sort of advantage of the newer features in newer cards, simply because those features weren't around at the time. OK. I know... But anyway, what could realy be expected ?... At last, nothing seems to be have done further about a "config collector" as this thread was created for... Or I didn't find any results. My ask is realy concrete question. I don't want to build the best PC of the world (in fact, this run is a crazy one , but the best OFP PC. This is not the same ! What obtain those who get SLI configs with sometimes 2x256 Mo video RAM or even 2x512 (and now 4x512 Mo dual-SLI !! ? What about 512 Mo in one only VGA card like 7900 GTX ?... I know that proc & RAM are also some very important OFP devices. What about those who got 4 Go RAM ?... And expensive dual-core AMD or Intel ?... I read : << A: Use lower terrain detail settings (like "Normal"), especially when using increased viewing distance. Terrain detail level "High" requires a lot of memory and CPU resources, and it was included mostly in anticipation of hardware that will be available several years from now.>> and : <<OFP is not like other games which you can play on the highest level of detail right away if you have a fairly new computer. BIS added a posibility for the players to increase the terrain detail and view distance to a level which was totally insane and unplayable at that time but future computers might be able to run it. If BIS had done it the way other developers works we would have been stuck with perhaps 1500m view distance and normal terrain detail being the maximum settings. Instead the players can enjoy their new computers by increasing the detail a little more and get a nicer game visually. Your computer is still lightyears away from what's required to run the game on the highest detail.>> I agree. But now, some players use some very huge configs... My ask is "concrete", I mean that I'd like to increase a lot quality, terrain detail, viewing distance, loading time (360°) and of course FPS. In an other way, some devices have been tagged as not realy good with OFP. Is there a (black) list somewhere ? I heard a lot about some sound cards... Other thing : screen resolution. Todays screens are big. 20, 22 even 30 inches ! What is the right choice ?... I paid attention to : OPERATION FLASHPOINT » GENERAL » Resolution and I don't realy understand the last post from Placebo : "how does it remotely matter in any way what resolution other people use ?". Yes, it does matter ! This has impact on number of pixels to be calculated, or may be I'm wrong ?... Last topic : what about RAM ? I sometimes monitor OFP with task manager and I never saw OFP taking more than ~200 Mb of RAM. Is this figure right ? What else to know ?... What can do 4 Gb of RAM with this kind of allocation ?... The summary of my ask : What real perfs with what up to date system ? Perfs : - terrain detail - view distance - FPS (average or specific std mission situation) - resolution - mods (ECP, GXDLL, FFUR...) System : - proc, name, speed - RAM, quantity, type - graphic card Hope it's the right place for the right ask, cause I also prepare for ArmA !... J-Marc (from France, nearby Angers)
