well...i know this thread has been dead for a while but there are some of us that just keep playing this mod... there will never be another generation like the soldiers who fought in WWII...we lose about a thousand veterans a day now...and it won't be long before they are all gone...but their actions will never be forgotten....in all the horrors of war these men knew that it was a war that had to be fought...there were numerious heroic deeds these men achieved yet, if you actually had the opportunity to talk to a Veteran they didn't consider themselves hero's...they would say they were there for a job...a common goal that had to be achieved for the world... i know a member of the 82nd airborne and he doesn't have much time left...so thank every veteran you see because without them we would not have the freedom we all sometimes take for granted...

Hey all, i'm trying to make an aircraft target or strafe a specific group of soldiers on patrol. I've tried to use "unitname dotarget unitname;unitname dofire unitname" but it doesn't seem to work with a aircraft targeting a specific GROUP of soldiers... Any help is welcome!

I gotta say i am enjoying the campaign so far. Fighting in open fields is much more hairraising then i had suspected. The AI has the advantage as they can see you lying down in the grass when you can't see them. So long as you keep moving you won't be a sitting duck. Also u gotta love that vickers mg, although tough to aim, it totally kicks butt. Nice work guys!

Ok, i finally worked it out, seems my older version of winace wasn't working correctly so i used winrar and all is well. I'm amazed at the quality of the units and I'm also pleasantly surprised that i have experienced no lag on the island as well. This has to be the best "alpha" release i have ever seen. To all involved in creating this mod, from this fan, it was worth the wait!
-
Ok what the heck, at the risk of sounding like a total noob, i can't even get the Dl to work. I dl'd from 2 sites and when i try to extract it, using winace, there's only a AEF_Train pbo in there .... Someone please help, been waiting sooooo long for this release and can't wait to get it working...

That's cool m8, didn't mean to sound greedy. After reading about the operation in detail, it got me wanting to know more about your upcoming release. Â Â So i started my own little mission about Lt. Gen. B.G. Harrocks XXX Corps executing ground operations out of Belgium and meeting stiff resistance before reaching Eindhoven.
-
Was just reading up on the operation and was wondering, will there be any other aircraft, along with the C-47, Horsa and Waco? Such as Tug planes for the gliders like US C-53 Skytrooper,Halifax,Albermarle or Stirling. Also any aircraft from the bombing berfore the operation? The Lancaster and Flying Fortress was used as well as multiple fighter/bomber escorts.
-
Outstanding work once again! This plane is a great flight model along with great weapons, not to mention the AI flies them well  . Already used them to pave the way for ground troops by taking out enemy armor...u gotta love it...

Outstanding piece of work gents! Good things come to those that wait....

Liberation 1941-1945 patch coming soon
jarvo9 replied to RN Malboeuf's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well done with the patch guys, i ecspecially like the animations. The ATG and kill animations are very cool! Also like the armor value changes. Now you can actually stop a tank with 1 well placed round from the ATG. Lots of fun, great job guys..as always!! -
Hey all! After a "Fresh" install of OFP i Dl'ed a WWII collection in one Dl. It has alot of addons and i mean alot. The problem is i have multiple eras when i try to start the game. I was able to sort some of them out but this little jem: No entry 'config.bin/CfgAmmo/metra.1' has eluded me.... So after trying to find out which one this belongs to for hours, i figuired someone in the community might have some  insight on this.

Got it scotchsoldier and everything that i have tried seems to be working fine now. Thank You!

Yes i would be interested in a 2mb fix!

Found alittle problem in Bar building... i fired two rounds at a bottle on top of the bar and the whole building collapsed, lol. I know u didn't make the building, but to say the least, i was surprised at the power of the 1893 lebel(IOF). Â I'm sure Linker Split is aware of that minor bug in his excellent model. The map is well done and i'm sure it would be a death trap for any enemy who dares try navigating through it's streets. It has many locations for well placed MG nests.

@ adrenaline red - I just experienced the tanker stuck in the ground waist deep...lmao...i was in a Cromwell tank and it got hit so i tried to get out.....but you can't run very far with your legs stuck in quick sand... I do have version 3 now but it still has plenty-o bugs but it's still a good collection of quality community addons. So Salute to all addon makers!!!
-
@ scotchsoldier - TY, i was unaware there were different versions nor does the one i DL have a version # anywhere that i can find. Although i checked it's properties and it seems to have been released on 7/9/2004 with 560mb. I have since found another one released on 12/22/2004 with 673mb, along with an objects pack released on the same date with 210mb. Although i don't know what version it is ,as it does not say. Hopefully this is the version 3 you mentioned. I will have a go at it and so how it runs. On a separate note, by no means did a mean to sound ungratefull to the author (whoever that maybe) who put these packs together. This person did do a service to the community by putting it together.

Hmmmm...little to quiet in here.....

The reason i reinstalled OFP was my Inv44 mod folder was screwed up by adding addons. A word to the wise, when adding addons, start the game after everyone it makes it easy to identify a problem with that particular addon. So i started "Fresh" and wanted to keep WWII mods separate to avoid any problems. I decided to keep different phases of the War in there own start up/mod folder ie. Inv44 mod, WWIIec mod, Be45 mod, Liberation 41-45 mod, FDF WWII mod, IOF mod and Pacific mod. As you can see i use pretty much all WWII addons. I thought i might DL the WWII Collection, try them all out, and pick out the "crossover" addons that i could use in each phase. Once it was put in its own folder everything would work...right?...ahhhh wrong....it seems the collection itself was plagued by the same problem i was trying to avoid! Â So i guess it's back to installing them one by one then trying them out.....

Well, it seems i'm not alone.

Love the atmosphere and the missions. On Rescue i have collected 3 POW's, cleared the village, and destroyed 3 atg's but the mission won't end. In briefing it shows check marks on atg's and village cleared but not on rescued pow and move to forrest. Which i did both of. Not sure what's wrong?

Great job guys, i just dl'd it and instantly set up a calvary charge. I was pleasantly surprised that i could actually hit something while riding! If i missed i would just trample the poor chap. Although once my horse was shot out from under me my confed cav soldier seemed to move in slow motion  .Dunno if anyone else has this but it's funny as heck! Once again great job and i'm sorry to see Triglav and Company leaving but all good things must come to and end. At least you left us with a fully functioning and enjoyable mod. Salute to all involved and sharing this effort with the community!

Outstanding AgentFox2, your example works perfectly! Thank you very much. This little codeing gem along with the inv. objects works great. Adds to the atmosphere of the mission. Now my french troops on patrol walking across open feilds(in Anjou) are not only vunerable from german troops but from maurauding Fokker D VII's. Even if you manage to take cover amoungst the trees, they start throwing nades from their open cockpits....it's alittle WWI action even if the soldiers aren't actually from that era, it still is good fun. Thanks again! jarvo9
-
Well, i can get the aircraft to target the invisable targets but i need it to target the actual group of soldiers. So with some creative timing i can get it to look like a straffing run on the soldiers when they are directly over the inv. object. I would like to find a way to target a group of soldiers by an aircraft until all members are killed or are out of a specific trigger area.

The rocket/song comment was just to see which historian would correct it...Harley wins! Â lol...Here is alittle something about the CW rockets.... scroll to the bottom of the page. http://abyss.uoregon.edu/~js/space/lectures/lec01.html

Hiya guys, great work on all this stuff, i'm a big fan of this era. I went to see a fictional reinactment this summer between the 1st Rhode Island Company B and the 12th Georgia vol. infantry Company F. Was very cool stuff! While touring the encampments, i came across one of the first Rocket batteries with multiple variance's in delivery and rockets size's. Which perhaps was used in the battle when our national anthem was written. I was abit awestruck and took only one pic cause i wasn't aware of their existance. If i knew how to post the pic here i would...
