Congrats -- but don't be talkin' about my momma.

Try the Cat 3.2 or 3.1 drivers -- they seemed to take care of the problem for me. But I'm still having other issues with 1.91 and addons so I don't know if those drivers are a double-edged sword or not. Cheers, Jon

Have you recently upgraded/reinstalled XP? If so you need to get the latest drivers for your card and that should take care of everything. For some reason, with Ati Catalyst drivers, nothing after v3.2 is working for me and OFP. Hope this helps, Jon

*Bump* because I'm having this problem again. I fixed the issues with 1.91 -- I installed my AddOns into the /Res/Addons instead of to the /Ofp/AddOns and everything worked fine. My system crashed last night so I had to reinstall XP and then OFP and Res again and patched to 1.91 and installed all my AddOns into the /Res/AddOns and now I'm getting the restarts again. Does the way I patch to 1.91 have anything to do with it? Before I was patching from 1.75 to 1.85 and then from 1.85 to 1.91 and everything worked fine. The game runs fine under 1.91 w/o AddOns installed. I've tried the mod folder method but it doesn't work because I need about 500MB of addons for the server I play on. So...if anyone else has any ideas about this I'd appreciate it. [EDIT] I am getting no errors whatsoever; the Res logo appears and the screen goes black, I hear a click and the game restarts. Is this similar to the memory map errors that everyone is getting?[/EDIT] Cheers, Jon

I should also add that if I had a smaller amount of addons being loaded with the 1.91 and 1.92 patches that everything would work fine -- the problem is the server I play on requires a large amount of addons to be loaded for most of the maps. Maybe that will be of some more help. Thanks, Jon

I've been playing OFP since day one and I have never run into a problem until the 1.91 patch. Let me first give you my system specs: P4 2.8Ghz 1GB PC-1066 RDRAM ATI Radeon 9700 Pro w/ Cat 3.2 drivers SoundBlaster Audigy Plat. w/ full acceleration Direct X 9.0 Windows XP Pro So, a while back after upgrading to 1.91, loading the game would cause my machine to reboot. Read about the mod folders and tried that to no avail. Gave up on OFP for a while because I was busy w/ school work. Came back a few days ago and did a clean install. Upgraded to 1.91 and then installed my addons and got the same reboot problem. Tried the mod folder option and still got a reboot. Upgraded to Cat 3.4 and Cat 3.5 drivers and had the same problem. Uninstall OFP/RES and do it all again. Cat 3.4 and Cat 3.5 drivers w/ no addons give me a green sky so I revert to Cat 3.2 drivers. Install all of my addons on top of v 1.85 and the game starts up -- patch to 1.90 and game also works perfectly. Patch to 1.91 and get a reboot. Patch to 1.92 and get a reboot. One last time I reinstalled everything, patched to 1.90 and added all my addons (both in the regular AddOns folder and then into mod folders) and the game works like a charm. Clearly, the problems lie in the 1.91-92 patches. What in 1.90 would allow me to play w/o any problems but was changed in 1.91-92 precluding me from even starting the game? This was by far the most annoying thing that I've had to deal with and I can't seem to find a viable explanation anywhere. So to sum up, 1.90 is the only patch that I can play with. I'd love to hear from someone who actually knew what was changed so drastically that would cause so many horrible problems. I hope this can be of some home to other people who are having this problem as well. Cheers, Jon

No I've not yet tried that -- I got pissed last night and uninstalled OFP so today after the Newcastle Man U match I'll be doing that. Cheers, Jon

I'm running windoze XP pro with a soundblaster audigy platinum --directx version 9.0. full sound acceleration was set and i changed that and started res and same thing. im pretty sure this is directly attributed to the amount of addons im using. ive got three mod folders and if i use 1 then the game starts and runs fine but if i start 2 or more then i get the reboot. cheers, jon

I just upgraded to 1.92 and loading Res still causes my machine to reboot. This is really starting to get annoying -- anyone think contacting Codemasters/BIS would be of some help? Cheers, Jon

Yeah -- I think I'll try that but if it doesn't work unfortunately I'll have to revert to 1.90. Thanks for the tip. Cheers, Jon

Ok I have a hefty amount of addons and I never used to have problems but now after upgrading to 1.91 starting Res causes my machine to reboot if there are too many mods being loaded. I've tried using the mod folders but I need to have a large chunk of them loaded at the same time for the server I play on. My system is really up to par so I don't know what else to do. All the FAQs and searches on this have turned up nil. Is there a way to fix this w/o reverting back to 1.90? Specs P4 2.8Ghz 1GB PC1066 RDRAM Radeon 9700 Pro Thanks all, Jon
