OFP 2 WISH LIST (Updated) I believe that OFP 2 should be enhanced as a battle simulation, so, my main wish is to move towards realism and away from the Quake type of game. Keeping this in mind, here are 12 points that I'd like to see addressed in OFP2: 1- Better Graphics: More realistic terrain, as in Black Hawk Down; Better simulation of destoyed buildings, vehicles and other obejcts. Better looking civilians and more variety of peoples clothing and faces. 2- Better Communication in Multiplayer: OFP needs to introduce a way for players to communicate with team members who happen to be near or next to them in the battlefield. If everyone in a team could see their teammates numbers when close, this would be like recognising their faces. Then you could select their number, and communicate either by menu or text, even if one is not the group leader. More actions could be introduced, in addition to salute and sit down actions. These could be largely communicative actions, such as point, beckon, stop, wave etc. 3- Better Communication in Single Player: The introduction of a platoon leader who can issue commands to group leaders. More strategic menu commands, that are similar to the current mission editor movement commands. ie. waypoints, to enable a higher level of strategic play. 4- Better Collision: No getting stuck or trapped in buildings. 5- Moveable ammo boxes: Movable by two players. One is leader, the other behaves as if he is in a vehicle. 6- More Vehicles and Armour: Towed artilliery guns, Mortar etc. Up to date weaponry. More support vehicles. 7- Freedom inside vehicles: I guess this is very hopeful indeed, but it would be cool if we could walk around in the back of trucks and helicopters; and better still, peep out and shoot from such vehicles, instead of just sitting there like department store dummies getting our asses shot off. 8- Introduction of other nations forces: Complete NATO forcres, incl. United Kingdom. Also, it would be nice to have a United Nations force. 9- More realism in Repair and Healing functions: Lets get rid of the magic wand repairing and healing, and have something more realistic. For example, if you have a light injury, treating it could just stop it getting worse. As to repair, again, this should be limited to simple field repairs such as fixing a tyre or a tank track perhaps, and should take a few mins. Repair should be largely preventative. For example, a water leak if not repaired will lead to bigger problems. Also, if there’s a fire, you may need to stop the tank, get out and put it out. 10- Better AI : Cleverer, more capable of looking after themselves with regard to ammo, medical etc... 11- A Better Mission Editor: More fucntions, easier to use. Island editor? Buildings in the library, trees, bushes etc. 12- Water: What happens when you go into deep water in OFP should not happen in OFP2. We should have swimming for those who are not carrying too much weight, and a drowning cut for those who are.

I think realism could be increased in OFP2, particularly with the "heal" and repair functions, which at the moment work like a magic wand. These functions should be more limited. For example, if you have a light injury, treating could just stop it getting worse. As to repair, again, should be limited to repair a tyre or a tank track perhaps, and should take a few mins. Also, repair would be largely preventative. For example, a water leak if not repaired will lead to bigger problems.

Hi I'm just posting this on the off-chance that anyone has come upon this problem before. I recently updated my mobo and sound card drivers. Now, whenever I try to run Flashpoint, my PC hangs. The screen freezes or goes black. I reinstalled Win98 from a clean format, and yet the problem persists. It was the helicopter I stole. I wasn't allowed to keep it I had to destroy it. I could have accepted this if it had stated that the first part of the mission objectives had NOT been fulfilled; but since it stated they were fulfilled (green tick), how was I to know that there was still one more helicopter that needed to be destroyed (the one that I stole)? Otherwise, this was an excellent mission Jason

Hmm.. I didn't think of that. And since the first part of the mission objectives were fulfilled (green tick), I thought that all I had left to do was to get to the village. We've been waiting there 5 hours now. Still nobody around. Even the bakery is closed. It's getting light. We're all sitting up in the bus stop. Ok, I'll try and destroy it, though it saddens me to do it. I was proud of this catch. How to destroy with no explosives? Might have to eject and let it crash land. Thanks... Jason

Hi I did it like this. All three of us took the truck southwest to the shore, and drove north up the shore-line to within 0.5km of the base. Then we crept up the embankment behind the closest Mi17 and started taking out soldiers with the sniper rifles. I took out a patrolling BMP with the RPG. Then we took out more soldiers with sniper rifles. Some flanked us on the right, and I and number 3 were injured. However, I was able to take ammunition from the wounded soldiers and prolong our attack. Soon it all went quiet, and we were able to walk out (all three of us) to the Mi17 and start it up unchallenged. We destroyed the base with it and another advancing BMP, and also a couple of advancing squads of soldiers. Then I flew back to the truck under fire from a Shilka. After landing, i ordered a group member to fly the chopper back to the village, and then drove the truck all the way back to the village myself, along the shore. The chopper landed safely and we all three met up at the final meeting point in the village. Unfortunately, the mission refused to end... Jason

Hi I need help finishing the "Reckoning" mission of resistance. This is the one where you attack a helicopter base with 2 men. I've done everything, I think, but when we go back to the village as directed, nothing happens. I did it like this. 1) Sneaked up on the back of airfield from the beach, took out many troops with sniper rifles, took out a BMP with the RPG. 2)Stole an Mi17 and use it to destroy the base. 3)Drove truck and flew chopper back to village. No villagers came to hide or meet us, and the final objective of the mission was not reached. I just got one green tick for the first objective. I managed to do a cheat save so I could come to this forum for advice. Please help! Jason

Thanks. I did it eventually. But I had to get killed a few times in order to watch and time the patrol. This is like cheating to get the data. However, I can't see how it's possible to observe the patrol without getting shot. It seems like if you can see them, they can see you, and bang!

Ok, well, thanks. I tried to watch the patrols, but it's difficult to do that without being spotted yourself.
