hi, when ever i use throttle controll on joystick it seems that theres only two settings the game recongises, on and off, unlike cars where i can use my joystick to controll there precise speed... in planes its either thrust or no thrust... is this a fault my end or is this actually just the game? it makes no sense :S reason i say this is because perhaps you wanna taxi without full thrust.. or landing... its either i turn thrust off or put thrust on? its stupid !!

This should help fellow mission editors, a classlist with pictures of each building. I'll just stick this in here. A10 thrust only had 3 values for the majority of us. We would like a 0-100% thrust controll, with no airbreak on 0% thrust. that could be done with the backward key. Thanks and I'm looking forward too seeing this feature in new patch.

Thanks for all the replys. Its reassuring to know that theirs other people with the same views. There is a middle point indeed, although its hard to get it on center without experimenting in the air which is stupid, and I found that I gradually lost speed and airbreaks deployed. Personally I would like my joystick throttle to controll thrust from 0-100%, and if i want airbreaks to just press the backward key, im sure many will agree this is a more sensible way of controlling the plane. BIS, I hope you will fix the A10'S thrust in the next patch!

HI guys. I decided to reinstall ARMA again aftrer a year, its been neatly stored away. I have the first released czech version, that is 1.0. I try to update it from patch 1.0 to patch 1.05 and i get a checksum error with sara.pbo, so i reinstalled and tried patch 1.02 instead, i got the same problem. So after spending nearly 8 hours trying continously to get this to work with both patches i gave up . Now my new question is - lets say if my team friend gives me his english cd, or german cd, could i just install using them and then use my czech version id to install? I don't want to try before asking because of course he will need to send me them through the mail! much thanks.

Cold War Rearmed Addons v0.80 released

just downloaded and installed 0.80 cwr mod. i get error: addon 'cwr_islands_wcain' requires addon 'cold_war_rearmed' after install, this is a completely brand new install of arma. patched up to 1.14, no addons or custom content added. when i get into game i open up winter kolv. and the game crashes upon trying to load the map. anyone else got similar probs? -

Cheaters will always find a way - you just have to put up with it, keep your server up to date with the banlists from other popular servers and you'll most likely filter out the worst of it. -

I think some people are so worked up into there realism ego to realise how useful this can be If you put it this way, anybody that has found out how to implement new things into the game whether you like it or not just encourage them and don’t be so negative because you never know what the next thing they make could be... GJ crusha.

Right, i've repeated this process three times..taken 6 hours in total and really pee'd off. I downloaded the arma 1.05 patch and reinstalled arma (czech version 1.0) When I apply the international patch it takes around 30-40minutes to get to 80% and then I get a windows stop error and the pc just restarts, ive tried this 3 times now and the same damn thing happens. I'm using xp mce, 2gb ram, athlon 4600x2, nvidia 7600gs. anyone else getting this problem?

Its difficult to see whats going on without seeing the script thats executed but heres how you can check which unit is executing the script. In your script add 3 if statements, when one of the three players activates the script only one of those if statements will be true and so it will send out a groupchat message coming from him. Modify the script to suit your needs but this is how you can do what you asked. west1,west2,west3 are the unit names of your soldiers <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> ?(player == west1): west1 groupchat "i activated the script" ?(player == west2): west2 groupchat "i activated the script" ?(player == west3): west3 groupchat "i activated the script" -
As stated in the 1.05 patch process the operation cannot be undone, you'd need to uninstall the whole game and reinstall then patch back to the version you want to revert too.

This sounds very much like a connection problem on your side, although if you are sure it is overwise then reinstall the game and or game/player configuation and patch back to 1.05 - if the problem persists then it could only be a connection fault.

1.6 patch? thats a long time off, you mean 1.06 right? theres no official information released about when we can expect it, although I'm sure BIS are working on it right now.

Hi, errr clanshout.co.uk do arma server rental, they are london based but overseas ping really good and the bandwidth is high

if you have arma then why'd you need anyone to say if its like BF2? Search for anything you want with the search button at the top or head over to the editing forum I take it thats what you mean?

I totally agree, the snipers should have a ghillie suit, but with the FPS i get around bushes in arma.. i don't think i'd want that thing following round with me all game hehe.

Yeah, you mite wanna do this specially with the ammount of squads you've added, it was the case in operation flashpoint with big CTIS to have a lag protection script that only acivated the AI when players are close to the town, or else theres alot of soldiers there doing a whole lot of nothing until a player comes close and its just wasting speed/resources/bandwidth. You'd need to script it pretty good though ...you dont want ai appearing out of know where inside the viewing distance (thats what let the script idea down in ofp). I take it you know how to script it? -
EHkilled is to just assign a name to the eventhandler so in another script u can refer to the event handler EHkilled - its basically an ID.

three6mafia is waiting, were paying for a windows server but we'd of much preferred to use our linux box its costing us a small fortune which we struggle to pay per month but bis will release it when there ready - i think its quite a while off yet though.
