anyone ever used mods with GOTY edition?
instantheadache replied to instantheadache's topic in TROUBLESHOOTING
IT WORKS!! Even the campaigns! Thanks AvonLady!!! You must have a patience bigger than my headache!! What I did wrong was: I did not add the -nomap - and I thought the " marks were meant only to make clear what was in the field and that they should not really be typed in the target field. Thanks everybody but especially Avon Lady who has invested so much time in stupid guys like me!! -

The readme file of the mod: This is an organised collection of existing ofp addons. I can't take responsability for this addons as they are not my own work As normal this mod is to be uses at your own risk (have had no problems as of yet) Features: Reordering of units interchangerble weapons weapon alterations (UP thompson has single shot mode) armour & speed values are altered as per http://www.onwar.com/tanks/ note; this does not completly reflect the universal armor code. FAB's panther packs armour tweaked so stronger (2 hits) pak 36 is towable by opels fixing of major bugs vehicles are assigned appropriate crews Infantry equipped with UPMINDER weapons OR I44 weapons loadouts Installation: Extract the WWII folder and shortcut to your OFP main dir Change the Startin field in the shortcut properties to match your own ofp folder. note; only the "addons" and "DTA" folders are really required. OR make a shortcut to your resistance exe Or Flashpointbeta exe with -nosplash -mod=WWII tacked on the end of the target field Use ";" to combine mods eg WW2;@ecp;objects etc (shortcut to resistance is for RES or direct upgrade form resistance to 1.96) Note: This was TESTED from the patch 1.96 beta visit: http://www.OFPWWII.co.uk ----------------------------------------------------- remember that if something bad happens because of this addon, do not blaim the authors for it, and especially do not blaim BIS or Codemasters because this is an UNOFFICIAL addon and BIS or CM has nothing to do with it. ----------------------------------------------------- 4/10/04 Liberation included IOF units not included as require alot of work added units: brit shermans BETA puma BETA U-boat BETA PT boat Typhoon DUKU TIGER Fokkers Flare pistols AA MG42 Jc panthers boye seamine ringstand Molotov Bandages Features: towable arty indirect arty arty has lights disabled arty has blowback beach landing script new menu and cutscenes now includes flashFX 1.2 FIXES Grouping metra ammo halftrack sherman command flag DD sherman floatable tank ranging pictures/icons EC grenade useablity sherman engine sound when static russian tank hatches and turnouts mission error messages BMW75 MG42 And the readme file (yes it has 2 readme files) in html version: Install the Operation Flashpoint 1.96 patch included. Extract the objects.rar file using winRAR to your OFP main directory. e.g.. C:\Program files\Operation flashpoint\+++++ Extract the WWII.rar file using winRAR to your OFP main directory. Make a shortcut to your Operation Flashpoint resistance.exe Select properties of the shortcut and select the target field. Attach "-nosplash -mod=WWII;objects" to the end of the existing target. as shown below. winRAR may be downloaded from http://www.win-rar.com/index.php Place Missions and MPMissions in their respective folders in the OFP main dir. There are two different types of infantry weapon load outs "UPMINDER" or "I44". Replace the addons in the WWII\addon folder with those of the respective folder. Note the default is upminder. I44 troops have no upminder load outs None I44 wehrmacht have no I44 load outs ALL other info is found in the readme folder. -

I changed the target field as you said, when I open the shortcut now, it says the target "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE-nosplash,", is unvalid. As you see, the error announcement doesn't name the whole target field but it end with "-nosplash," instead of "-nosplash -mod=WWII;objects". Could the problem be that the target field can only contain a limited amount of characters? -

The 'objects' may refere to the "universal objects pack" which was said to be required for the mod. I presume this universal objects pack is already installed because I couldn't find it on the internet for downloading. It seems to me this is one of the first updates for OFP which is already included when upgraded to 1.96. Otherwise, the ; between ww2 and objects means it can use ww2 or objects but not necessarily needs both of them does it? -

What do you mean with target FIELD? The properties of the shortcut for resistance says under 'general': "Shortcut to Flashpointresistance" Location: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint" and the usual info about size and date info. under 'shortcut' it says: targettype: "Application" target map: "OperationFlashpoint" target: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" start in: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint" and further only info of no interest. Note the descriptions are translated from dutch and may not be the same as in the english windows version -

I start it with the resistance-exe shortcut and it's target field is E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE Because when I use the shortcut that came along with the mod, which as I understood had to be changed in E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -nosplash -mod=WWII;objects, an error appears saying that the target path is unvalid. (I have to translate it from Dutch so the terms may not be exactly correct) -

Okay, I started resistance exe and now I can choose the WW2 missions from the missions menu (the campaigns still not available but that's for later). So that's much better, only thing left is when I choose a ww2 mission it says it's missing addons. But the addons which it says to be missing are in fact in the mod's addons folder, I have checked their names and they are in the mod's addons folder. -

I read it at the Avon Lady's site after searching for my problem. What might be interesting to know: if I change the shortcut's properties to make the mod run under resistance instead of OFP by making the property's target E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -nosplash -mod=WWII;objects it also refuses to start but with another error announcement-> "cannot load world'worlds\intro.wrp'." -

Do you mean an extra addon folder in the mission folder or what? The mod already has it's own addon folder. I have also been looking on the avon lady's site and followed her advice of choosing autodetect in OFP preferences, but it didn't help.... -

indeed, E is my hard drive. After installation the mod has various folders: Missions, MPMissions, campaigns, DTA, BIN, Installation pics, Other Stuff and a mod shortcut. Anyway, I only placed the mod's mission folder under OFP main dir's missions folder, further nothing, but it doesn't work. It still says "No entry 'bin\config.bin.CfgWorlds'." when I open the mod's shortcut. -

I copied the ww2 mod mission files into a folder I called WW2 in the mission section of OFP main dir, since I was told to do so by the mod installation instructions (but they say nothing about the mod's campaigns, the addons, DTA, and BIN for example). The ww2 mod is in my OFP main dir which is in E:\games\flashpoint\operationflashpoint, the shortcut properties had to be changed to "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe -nosplash -mod=WWII;objects", as the instructions told me to do so. Now, when I open the WW2 shortcut it won't start, it says "No entry 'bin\config.bin.CfgWorlds'." -

Hi there, First of all sorry for posting at wrong forum 1st time, seems to happen a lot regarding your reactions. Couldn't reply for few days but here I am. Thanks for all your replies but I think I didn't formulate it clear then. What I want to know is: I have GOTY and have downloaded a WWII mod, but I do not know in which folders everything should be put (the mod contains addons, missions, campaigns, BIN, DTA etc.). My OFP main directory is in E:\games\flashpoint\operationflashpoint\. Should I make a mod folder? I also do not know whether I must change the OFP-exe shortcut's target or the OFPresistance-exe's shortcut or the shortcut that came along with the mod and how they should be changed. As you can see, I do not know a lot about things, which explains my forum name... I hope someone can help me with this!
