  1. Hi ive made a building model in O2 and now i want to texture it. What my problem is, is that i have my texture in jpg format, then i convert it to tga then in texview2 i convert it to paa and place it in P:\ drive were my model is. Then in O2 i select a face i want to texture open its properties and browse to my texture and apply it. But when i go into bulldozer the texture does not show except for just a basic colour of ceamy brown!? I have the old DLL's in my O2 dir but no joy! Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this.     Just another question! Is it possible to rotate textures once its placed or before? As when i texture my walls two sides are sideways!

    Well the size of my texture is 1305x914! I guess that is my problem? So should i resize it to 1024x1024? Well you guys are stars!! Resized it and saved as paa and whoala texture works nicley. Thanks again guys! Hedcrusha

    Ok kindof found out the prob! It needs to DXT1. So ive tried the paa plugin for PS. But now i get the error when saving to paa format "could not save blah blah.paa because of a problem with the file-format module interface"?? Any one had this before?
  5. Hi! Well ive made a tiny map just to get me going and ive made a few buildings in O2. Now ive placed the buildings on my map in vista exported world and loaded it up in arma. But unable to load (myobject).p3d keeps poping up everytime i try to load the map. Now ive tried creating its own addon for the building and putting it in the addons dir and i know that it works and also the same pbo but extracted is in my p drive. But i cant understand why my map wont load it!? If anyones got a clue on what im doing wrong please share Thanks again. Hedcrusha Heres a screenie of my prob:
  6. Well i was making a mission thats based in the dark and didnt want to use NVG's so i thought i need a flashlight. So i came up with this. Its basic because you cant look up and down and i cant edit the soldier models yet to add a proper light source. Ive tried the memory points and they didnt work so ill have to wait till the mod tools come out to get this perfect. It doesnt work well when your close to something as the length of the light doesnt resize itslef, but good for seeing whats in the distance. But anyways here it is for those that want to use it either in your zombie missions or for other use.   7. Ok Got it working with the help of Opteryx quick tut! Still need to texture the buildings and tweak the collisions abit but this is a wip screenie! Ill release soon as its complete. Btw this is only a tiny map and no performance hit as they are basic cubes.

    When they are you can have them! Rooftops working so you can pick ppl of the ground and other rooftops. Theres a few collision probs but tommos if i have time after work ill fix them By the way thanks for the tut!

    Well im just going through Opteryx quick tut as i see the map dir is setup different on my machine so ill have a blast. But as for my model yes there are several blocks (buildings) in it but are very small as to scale in O2 has some collision probs so the smaller version is within the grid on O2 and works with collision. Then i put it on my map as its not to scale then i change the size in the properties in vista to 500 witch makes it to scale as i want. Then the rest is what ive done earlier! I appretiate the help btw! Yes i added that as a comment!

    Odd! Still cant seem to get it to work. This is what ive tried: Ive tried putting the model in P:\ca\City_Life(my map dir)\my_city_small.p3d then in vista adding the model to the artificial objects then placing them on the terrain. Then exported my map into City_Life dir where the p3d is. Pbo'ed it then droped it in my addons dir, booted arma up and still getting the same error "cannot open object ca\city_life\my_city_small.p3d"! Are there any other options i could try at all? Or am i missing somthing?
  11. Hi this little config replaces the SLA side to Guerillas by Vilas. Adds a bit more of a terrorism feel. Installation: Unpack and use the modfolder method.   14. Hi ive made a few buildings and have set the geo lod's up and they work. But i have to keep the model inside the grid on O2! Im just wondering if anyone knows how to get arma or O2 to detect colloisions outside the grid?!

    Aye i did but not to scale as my city is like a a bunch of match boxes lol. Well just had a quick try at what you did. Made a cube 215m high and 50x50 wide added a road on top and works beutifully. I guess the city im trying to do is to complexe for O2. But guess ill have to try and find the limit as to how many buildings(cubes) i can have in a single p3d. Gtg now so ill try again tommos. Ill let you know how it went. Thanks again.

    Collision outside the grid?

    well ive been at work and just got in so havent tried it out. Ive made the same as you charonos with regards to buildings BUT i have made all the buildings one p3d, So when you place the building in the editor it has about 20-40 buildings in it. Like a city in otherwords. Their just standard blocks like what you have used but they only seem to work inside the grid as ive kept then the size i want and the collision works towards the middle so then after hours of scouwering the net on this i saw somthing mentioning about the 0.0000 grid reference. So then i decided to resize it to be inside the grid and it worked.

    Ive made a couple of skyskrapers and had that prob. Would making several geo boxes help rather than copying the building and using that as the geo lod? Thanks for the help btw.

    Yes have a look at my crosshair mod! I did originaly change the rifle cross hair to use the launcher crosshair which is just a cross with no dot in the middle. Check out how i did it.

    Do a search for my name and youll see that ive released a mod changing the crosshair to a dot. Dl it and take alook at what i did to change it. It comes with the newview mod.
