I started a MLV for personal use some time ago. Is far from being finished but perhaps someday I could release it. An early shot of the model: Anyway this team is doin´a good work.
-
Lookin´great! I´m pretty sure this will be more than impressive with the inclusion of a specular map and dirt.
-
Your M1 is lookin´ great. The progress on the NATO colors is fantastic. I really hate the ArmA stock camo.
-
Looking good USSRSniper. Is good to see some new humvees in ArmA. Keep it up.

Oh no!!! the curse of GTA San Andreas fakes comes to OFP!!! I think no one have ever noticed any single file inside any game PBO related with a posible Big Foot creature. Just a fake urban legend I guess. I´ll be expecting for screenshots anyway.

x2 They should take as reference GTA San Andreas I/O script for 3DS Max. You can import, export and SETUP your models. A simply but awesome tool. I don´t like the O2 interface at all but i´ll give it a chance...

Very interesting project EvEnLeaSe44. Keep it up!! -
I work for a studio and I use 3D Studio Max every single day (I started up working with the very first MS-DOS based version several years ago); and all I have to say is that it´s probably the most versatile and intuitive 3D software you will ever find out there. If I were you I would do three things: 1;. Follow the included tutorials (are very useful and well explained) 2;. Be prepared to spend a lot of hours in front of your PC; This is a matter of practice. 3;. Surf the net. There´s a lot of tutorials and resources for beginners that will teach you how to perform from the most basic tasks to the most advanced scripts. Said this, I wish you good luck and don´t give up!

This is the first vehicle I will work in If I have some free time and if the new Oxygen interface is more friendly than the current one. If everything goes well I´ll work in more versions and other modern US vehicles.

Hi FischKopp is good to see your stuff in ArmA. If you need help modeling, texturing or whatever, you know where I am.

Right now, without any special BI tools; Is there any way to edit the normal map files? I would like to edit the humvee normal maps in deep to correct all the inaccuracies of the stock ArmA ones. Some time ago I tried to modify that files but I don´t know why without any succesfully result.
-
You´ve done a great work with these new desert textures guys. Congratullations. BTW: do you know how to edit normal maps in ArmA? I don´t know if it´s possible yet.
-
Awesome work Acacyn. The best thing I´ve seen in OFP in much much time.
-
Interesting storyline
-
Just tried it... great stuff. The very first addon in my addons folder. Good work

I have already played ArmA, and I have to say just one thing: Or you have an Industrial Light & Magic computer-like or better forget to play it.

He means the new texture shown in an already posted screenshot, just a few posts above. If this is a final texture rework, I´m starting to think that they really like to be inaccurate, because the aconditionated air grid (only present in up-armored Humvees M-1114-1116) is still there in their M-998-10XX. And I´ve already talked about this issue in some posts before, posting even pictures. Now I see my comments have been ignored. Another thing I´ve noticed is the new wheels textures shown in that screenshot. They´ve redone it to look like the wheels used by special operations humvees. Another mistery or another innacuracy. Perhaps a Spec Op humvee? Mmm I don´t think so but otherwise I can´t really understand why this change.

Probably the blog will deserves us something interesting before the game release. btw, thanks Sniper Pilot.

I made a research about starforce, because I didn´t know too much about this copy protection system. Well... I´ve read about some dark points that really worry me; but I don´t know if starforce will be finally used in ArmA or how it could affect to dvd readers or any other hardware... time will tell.

Yep that´s a Javelin. I was thinking on a Dragon.. but definetively not.
-
I guess it woould look even cooler mounted in humvees

Photoshop as all the other painting/retouching softwares are just tools. First off, you´ll need to pay attention to all the details, gather a lot of reference material and a good artistic base would help you a lot. Learning a software tool would take you a few moths only. But believe me, the key of all this is practise, practise and then more practise. Said this, I wish you good luck making addons. Sincerelly: A guy with "2D Artist" in his signature.

I´m a little bit confused at this point too; ACU, Woodland/Desert BDU, choc chip tricolor... and all at same time! Btw, It would be nice if you could add more details on the texture because is looking a little bit plain.
