Maybe, but how many direct hits from rpgs have you heard about in Iraq. We are talking about roadside bombs, about indirect hits, about grenades thrown into the inside of the HMWVV, about attacks from roof-tops. M1, come on, be realistic, you cant patrol a large country like Iraq with stupid M1s: it is a combat vehicule. Even an rpg-7 can only disable a tank but not kill the crew (and it has the Halon firefighting gear to prevent the crew from burning alive). So there is a clear difference between driving a tank or driving a HMMWV. Exactly. You said it. And that´s because they use the Humvee and not the Abrams. This is a matter o mobility. (high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle...) And i´ve heard about few rpg direct impacts in all kind of vehicles. From humvees to M1s and Bradleys. Even more, in December past year, there were a rpg attack on a M1.These rpg perforate the armor of the turret, then the shrapnel hit a crew member in his right arm and perforated it aswell. This unknown RPG variant left a 5 cm wide hole in the turret. US Army talk about experimental RPGs ż? And about roadside bombs... the improvised explosive devices, appart humvees, disable strykers and bradleys and very often injure their crew aswell, so the problem is not the humvee in itself... To finish: None vehicle is invulnerable. And once said this, I´ve nothing else to say about this fact.

Strykers with bird jails? Bradleys with reactive armor? APCs...? all of them blown away after damn RPG impacts. Not only the humvees. Anyway the humvee is not a high intensity combat vehicle. Want armor? Ok. Just pick a M1 (and even the M1s are destroyed by RPG impacts)

I´ve this problem since one year more or less: I don´t know why, but I can´t load any US military web site, including pic links (but US Navy) I´ve tried with IE, Opera, Mozilla... But nothing appear on my screen, just blank screens. Is this happening to any other appart me???
-
Het theavenger, maybe you can make the army versions of the Fischkopp humvees...
-
OK. Right now i´m working on desert textures. I´m a little busy with real life affairs but i´ll try to work on it many time as I can. Hmmwv.
-
nope. Thank you!
-
I have downloaded the new zombies, and placed the difficultity level game logic and I named it as SERVER, but zombies don´t attack... What have I done wrong?
-
buffff!! just imagine it! Hey FischKopp are you Kate Beckinsale? xD
-
That will be my job as soon as the woodland pack released. I´ll do it. OD and desert textures. FischKopp, man, if you were a girl... Thank you very very much, from the bottom of my heart (hey don´t get me wrong )
-
Hey! that´s not a bad idea
-
There are at least two different IFF panel types and one of them is with 6 rows. Just search a little bit more and you´ll find it. Right now FischKopp humvees are very very detailed and very acurate and no futher details will be needed. I know all of us want perfection but that´s virtually imposible. For perfection.... buy the real humvee
-
Great news! Talented addon maker FischKopp has gave me permission to make the desert and OD textures for his awesome humvee pack, so stay tuned.
-
About canvas covers and doors, you´re right they come in standard OD; but there are versions with camo canvas... An about hood grids, also agreed, but right now there are versions out there running with old hoods... but again there are exceptions. I´ve noticed it since his first beta but due to the facts I said before, I just forgot it.

Once again thanks very much to all for your support (frankly I didn´t wait for them). I´m feeeling happy about your comments If FischKopp gives me permission to repaint their awesome humvees, I would feel very happy and proud. If it finally happens, I have some things in mind to do like damage textures (although some people consider it irrelevant and unnecessary in OFP addons) I would like to see a bit damaged humvees after some bullet hits and shrapnel impacts. (of course not for a RPG direct impact) "Semper Fidelis" is just a joke since FischKopp is making USMC addons
-
Sure! Semper Fidelis!!!
-
Thanks all for your support, but please don´t see these textures as final and ready-to-use textures, they´re just TEST textures made in 5 minutes. They haven´t much detail and they´re very dark. Oh! and these textures are not desert textures, just a non OD green weatered a bit, but as i said before they´re just for a test; not pretended to be realistic and detailed. I can make more accurate and realistic weathered textures, but of course I´ll need more than 5 minutes to do them
-
I could do it. I have done many textures since I´m a 3d artist. Below you can see some texture tests I did for a 3d model (non OFP related) a long time ago. These doors are out of proportion due to original project necessities, so don´t pay attention over it.
-
Once released, any talented texturemaker could request permission to FischKopp to repaint them into desert an OD paints.
-
I hope not to bore you with my suggestions but I have one more. It´s about winshield cleaners:
-
I would prefer Combat! desert and OD textures. Looks better for me, better resolution... but it´s just my opinion. @Fischkopp: what dou you think about make IFFs 3D instead textured to reflect depth?
-
Damn it Fischkopp! i love you!!! Will all these gear and the IFFs be removable via script? Oh! and one suggestion. Your IFF doesn´t cover the door at all but actually it does. Anyway check pictures below and this one And what do you think about make them 3D instead textured to reflect depth?

IFF panels (Identify Friend or Foe) are basically plates with special degree oriented sub panels, covered with reactive paint ,which can be easily identified and spotted from the air avoiding the bombing of allied units by mistake. You can see these panels on Humvees, Bradleys, M-1s, 5-T trucks... In the humvee of the picture, the IFFs are in the driver and co-pilot doors and over the hood.

Totally agreed with you.
