I have no clue as to what the problem here is, but after some time of playing arma, my PC becomes choppy and it gets kinda impossible to play. Then, even after closing the Arma application, the system keeps on being choppy. Teamspeak, for instance, doesnt return to normal performance. Its propably a Vista problem, as i have no problems playing Arma on XP (on the same PC). The problem is present both in vista 32 and 64 versions a few specs Vista64 8800gtx 768mb 2GB ram (downgraded from 4gb, as arma is fubared @ 4gb) Please forgive me if the answer is elsewhere in this topic. i stopped reading thru it after 30 minutes. -

The zoom function is fictional. It does not exist in real life. There is only 2 different view fields the gunner can switch between, namely 4x and 12x zoom. (The EMES 15 on the Leopard 2 only has one viewfield on the daysight, namely 12x) -

i made a trigger to detect when the vehicle died, then added a countdown corresponding to the respawn delay... worked like a charm... keep it simple  .. oh, and i hate scripting..  Here's a backbrief *Place a marker called  "Respawn_vehicle_west" in a desolate area. *Add "respawnVehicleDelay=xx" to description.ext *Add "vehicle1 respawnVehicle [xx];" to init.sqf.  (xx = same as above) *Place Gamelogic where you want the vehicle moved to. *Make trigger "!alive vehicle1" with countdown xx (same as respawn delay+1) with the action: "vehicle1 setPos (getPos gamelogic)" Hope this can assist others with same dilemma as me :-)  (being n00b, that is) -

negative, vehicles can respawn just like players, using a respawn_vehicle_west marker.. and a init.sqf file -

that worked... Â now all i need is a trigger that detects when an empty vehicle spawns.. disregard... im done. thanx for the assistance -

Im using the ingame respawn thingy ive decided to go with the respawn in a far-away place and move the vehicles to the team base markers.. now, ive tried the setPos command a couple of times and i just cant seem to get it right. what is the simplest working setPos command to move a vehicle from the respawn pos to the marker pos? im a dork at theese commands, so i need the command-for-dummies version of the answer -

I'm not looking to install addons to resolve the problem. That would only bring a new set of problems. and before someone says that i can use the command: vehicle1 side = "east" the command cant be used like that and is of no use to me. -
***SOLUTION FOUND! SEE LAST POST!*** Backstory: Im making a 3-team Tank duel. The only way to do make the teams even is to give them all the same tanks. (namely the M1) Now i need to make the (team designated) M1's spawn in the teams own spawn area, West, East and guerilla. So far, all the M1's spawn in the west spawn area even though ive designated sides in the mission.sqm Someone enlighten me, please Â

Ive noticed that i have a lack of tracers when im playing Arma, despite the fact, that all my video settings are maxxed out (exept view distance). Also, there are no apparent muzzle flash when rifles are being fired. Can anyone enlighten me to what the heck is wrong here? ..and no, its not the tracers setting in the difficulty menu that has ben disabled Running on an XP32 machine with GeForce 8800GTX and the 163 beta driver

I've tried that as well.. My addons are exactly the same as those of our server. As I said earlier, i have two identical ArmA versions on 2 different PCs. One work, the other don't. (and no, im not logging on to the server with both at once) -

nope. if it was the firewall, i wouldn't even be able to locate the server
