    Infatry Addons

All of the above listed addons are excellent, but I think the selection of the soldier to be used just depends on the mission being made and the role of the unit. When I design missions, I select a unit that best fits the role and period of the mission. So because of that, it's hard for me to say which I like best without know more of the situation it will be used. But if I had to choose which unit I like overall the most, I would have to say the BAS Deltas. All the rest are pretty sweet too. Kind of like asking which is better, Ferrari or Lamborghini

    XM-109 Antimaterial Rifle

Excellent work so far, I'm happy to see someone is making this addon. I am not able to provide any assistance with texturing, but I would be happy to help with other aspects if possible. If you need additional pictures of the carrying handle, you can find many on Barrett's web site, or I can zip up a bunch of pics from other sources as well. Below I will post links to various web sites that might offer some additional information in case you haven't seen them already, as well as some neat video links too. Barrett's military rifle page If you click on "details" next to the M107, you can see the carrying handle a little better. Military.com site with info on XM109 USMC Scout Sniper Instructor School Terminal Ballistics Demonstration of the Barrett M82A1A SASR This is a video showing the M82A1 in action, not the XM109. Still interesting to watch. M107 Rifle information includes several drawings, with nice detail of the carrying handle. Hope some of those links help out, or at least provide some interesting information. I have more photos, so if you still need something let me know. I look forward to using your addon for a few special-application missions. It's looking very good so far.

    Predator UAV

Regarding the "crappy" pics....it's my fault. I'm using an onboard 16MB video card, with my 900MHz cpu and only 384MB ram....so my visual settings are a bit low as you can imagine. Also, that Dragon Warrior addon as pictured was the beta version, still not complete. As you can see in this link the model for the Dragon Warrior UAV wasn't bad. It's not as much "eyecandy" as the Predator versions, but it did serve its design. Anyways, the point in showing those screenshots was to show one that is working and for others that haven't see it yet to get an idea of what was being done a while ago. By reviewing the basic scripting from that addon, it might help give suggestions or ideas in working out a new set of scripts for a new UAV. And it is true that some UAV's have operated with ground vehicles. Below is a photo showing one, sorry it doesn't show too much though. For more info, check out UAV Forum

    Predator UAV

Yes, the controls of that addon are a bit "jittery" in the version I have. The slider controls can be annoying to use, especially if you are trying to operate it over enemy territory where fast controls might be needed. As you change the UAV's speed it tends to drift a lot and you have to use the drift slider to compensate for it. I think the hover ability is useful, but not realistic for modern UAV's. But I think that looking over the script for the addon in general will help with working out an improved script system for current or future projects. It's not the best, but it's a start I think that will help those addon makers having trouble with scripts right now. As mentioned, changing the controls interface to something simpler and more realistic would be nice, and giving the controls a little more smoothness and better zoom levels would help. Maybe even a script to keep the camera automatically focused onto a locked target, and allow the operator to concentrate more on controlling the movement of the UAV and less on the camera controls. Manual control is still a must but an auto-track feature would be nice too. I have the original file with .pbo, demo mission, and readme files. If anyone would like a copy just let me know. I'd be happy to share it, and maybe someone can host it for download. Again, it is old, but makes for a good reference for new ideas.

    Predator UAV

I'm sure that some of you have seen this one before, but thought I'd post it anyways since it hasn't been mentioned yet. I've had this addon for a long time now, but don't know where it can be downloaded now. It's the Dragon Warrior UAV, by Vladimir. It is remotely controlled by the player, with a decent control interface. The model is basic and there are a few small bugs that I've noticed, but I think that the scripting portion of it would make for a good start or reference if anyone wanted to check it out. I'll post screenshot links below, and if anyone wants to host it let me know and I'll send you a .zip or .rar of the addon and demo mission. I haven't tried contacting the author myself yet, thought I'd leave that up to anyone who is interested in finding out more about it. This is the beta 04 copy (?), if anyone has a more recent version please let me know. Idle UAV, walk up to it to add action to start it up Here you can see the user "start" action, plus size comparison with human player This is the start screen, click the link here to activate the UAV Activating the UAV will send it on it's way, and add action to view the UAV's camera Once you have control, take off and begin your flight Controls are by slider bars, and take some getting used to Flying over armor column, zoomed out Zooming in on armored column Zoomed out, looking at player. Notice the spec on ground down and left of crosshair Zoomed in on player from same point, notice zoom magnification level View from player, as UAV moves closer. Player can switch between normal view and UAV controls at any time UAV through scope view Can take damage from weapons fire and can crash, acts just like aircraft UAV going down This being an older addon and still beta version, I think many have already seen it. But I think it helps point in the right direction for future UAV scripts?

    PDW + Barrett M95

I haven't seen the movie, so I'm curious exactly what you mean by an M82A2 mixed with the M109? To me that doesn't really make sense, because the M109 is just an M107 with an upper reciever made to fire the larger 25x59mm rounds. I don't mean to say you don't know weapons, I'm just saying I don't understand what you mean by M82 mixed with M109.

    New AH-64D Pack

This is so far one of the best helicopter addons I've seen. Still a few fixes need to be worked on, but that's because it's not finished yet. But in my opinion this is surely one of the best. I was a little curious about the "Ride in back" option, that allows a soldier to ride one per side of the fuselage? I thought it might come in handy for simulating a ground crew working on the engine or rotors or something, but to use that in-flight seemed a little unrealistic and, well...odd. I can imagine it being funny to use in some missions like CTF, CTI, etc. but it doesn't match the flow of realism that this addon is going for. Maybe you can make a seperate version with this option available, while the rest have it removed? Another thing I noticed, and don't take this as a negative comment, but what was the original intended idea of being able to board the pilot's seat of the damaged helo model? I have a few good ideas that I can use this in some missions, but is it possible to make both pilot and gunner seats open, not just the pilot? If they are both already open, please excuse me. Regarding the ability to change loadouts mid-mission from an ammo truck is really an excellent idea. I also like the available selection of munitions, especially the variety of FFAR warheads. The option to change your payload like that without extra scripting in the editor really opens up a lot of new mission scenarios, and I hope that other addon makers will use this technique as well. One suggestion that I would really like to see, when you release the final version. Can you please write a more detailed readme file, including more specific instructions on placing crashed models and also adding a full list of features and possible system failures? The current readme said to place a crashed object on the map to prevent the stutter when a helo crashes, but it didn't give much more info. Do you need just one helo wreck per map, or one helo wreck per live helo? I'm also just curious to hear what the various system failures are possible. Keep up the great work, I'm anxious to see the rest of the updates. Thanks.

    PDW + Barrett M95

The addon looks nice so far, not a bad alternative to the HEP M82/MP5 PDW combo. So is anyone interested in stepping up and making a new M109 addon? Would be a great addition to the Barrett line available in OFP, and would be very helpful to small SpecOps teams for vehicle disabling roles. I don't think it would be too difficult to make, and I'm sure it would be a hit with the community. Thanks for the addon, look forward to seeing more.
