You are so rignt. This sci fi world is dependent on limited ammo, fuel and supplies - a perfect match for OFP. Sincerely, Gaultesian

Hi there, I am a great fan of the OFP forums for both past, present, near future and Sci-Fi units, mods, etc. I see that in the last year or so there have been some great progress on mods based around Sci-Fi scenarios - such as WH40K, Star Wars, and Command and Conquer (I know, at first I was not very receptive to Sci-Fi, but the OFP engine is pretty dynamic). I am not a modeller or programmer myself, but I was wondering if anyone has seen the SF3D - Ma.K ZbV3000 sci fi world of units at: and Krueger's Krieger SF3D-MaK Zbv3000 Models and Tips and SF3D Original: These websites provide info on the SF3D sci fi world. Maybe someone would take it upon themselves to look at this, or maybe I am being too presumptious and pushy (if I am - my apologies). Sincererly, Gaultesian

Hi Folks, First time poster, long time reader. Anyhoo, I am just attempting the fine art of O2 modelling using the requisite programs , bssreb's fine tutorials (great work bssreb!), and modifying any and all p3d models that are not binarized (don't worry, none of my bastardized creations see their way past my hard drive - I do not multiplay and I would not share my creations unless it was with the original creator(s) of my bastardized models). I can create the vertices and config prgramming for bullets and muzzle flash, but I do not know how to seperate muzzle flashes for mg and cannons. On my 'hypothetical helicopter' (I took OFPman's AH56 Cheyyenne, deleted the mg pods (and all of their memory vertices), added AT and AA weapons, and I have added a neat moveable chin turret that has a slow firing 35mm cannon, and a chain gun that fires 5.56mm rounds (one for the big boys and one for the unfortunate grunts). What memory vertices do I need to include to get the mg to use its muzzleflash only when it is fired, and the cannon flash/smoke to only show when the cannon is fired. Â Also, is there any extra config lines I would need to distiguish the cannon fire from the mg fire/muzzleflashes? Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Gaultesian

Sorry, I do not believe there was ever an alternate sighting system for the G11, or a grenade launcher system. My suggestion (as a non-addon maker) was in the hopes of 'modernizing' the G11 (from its late 80s, early 90s prototype version) to give it a full combat squad feel - a regular version, one with a new scope, one with a grenade launcher, and possibly one in an lsw format - that way a G11 could be integrated into a full 6, 9, or 12 man squad. Again, I do not know the work and the time or the skill in putting an addon together, so I do not know if this is even feasible. Sincerely, Gaultesian

I just looked at your list of new addon projects. First of all, to my knowledge, the CR-21 has not been made - I believe this is potentially the new assault rifle for the Isreali Defense Forces. The G11 has been made before (by the fine people who gave the HK Pack - god bless them!), but another version would be fine. Â Also, because this was only a prototype weapon (it was never adopted by the German military over the G36), maybe you could give us a variant with different sights, grenade launcher, etc. Here are a few suggestion from a non-addon maker (the worst kind of suggestion-makers - we have no talent and yet we want every weapon that was ever concieved!): XM29: and Represent the XM29 - a now-defunct OICW contender that would be a nice addon for a 'what if' scenario of weapons that could have been. Also the XM8: an OCSW weapons system of the not-to-distant US Military future. Â I know that these two are in development by the Soviet War Rebellion mod, but that was some time back and I have not heard anything else from them. Just a few suggestions, but you are going in the right direction with the CR 21 and the G11. Sincerely, Gaultesian

Frostbite is right. I have developed several missions using the interior. This is an excellent map to represent the difficulties both the Allies and the Germans had in conquering/defending Normandy. Just try and get your squad through a field that is defended by a couple of mg42 nest and a Pak36 field gun - you won't be dissappointed!. Try and recreate the mission from the "Band of Brothers" episode 2 where they are trying to secure a machinegun nest/artillery battery on the outskirts of just such a field (with the high hedges and low grass area). Also, try some WWII tank engagements on this map - playing the Allies is good, but frustrating (those MKIV's were killers against the Shermans and the Chruchills!), and playing the Germans is target-rich, but difficult to stem the tide. Excellent work - I only wish that JC was creating this island in a 25.6*25.6 map size instead. I also agree with a previous comment about the amount of WWII addons out there - between AIA, WWIIEC and a plethora of independent addon makers like JC and John the 'tank maker', we have more than enough men, weapons, planes, etc. I like the beach landing stuff, but too many people concentrate on this stuff too much - it is time we got away from the beaches and started doing battles inland. Sincerely, Gaultesian p.s. Did I mention the Eastern Front - now that's another excellent warzone!....

Operation northstar new weapons pack
gaultesian replied to SNIPER_SKULL's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
As a fellow Canadian and avid user of the Operation Northstar addons - this is great news. However, I also use the Royal Netherlands troops and now the new Danish troops. I also downloaded the new Diemarco rifle pack and it rocks! Maybe you could please us with a compromise... One pack with an all-genuine Operation Northstar weapons pack, and an alternate troop update with the unique canadian rifles and equipment, (how can you not love the TAC-50), but the config arms the rest of the troops with the new Diemarco weapons pack instead - you download an alternate weapons pack instead. Maybe this suggestion is more work and headaches, but it's a suggestion nonetheless. I know the Operation Northstar weapons will have different sounds and stuff, but I want to incorporate the Danish and Netherlands forces with my Canadian forces (i have several nato and international campaigns created and I usually focus my attention on the smaller armed forces - not the Americans) - it would be kinda weird having the same rifles sound and acting differently (ballistics, accuracy, etc.) between the Canadian vs. the Dutch and Netherlands troops. Sincerely, Gaultesian -
Oh boy! I have been waiting all day. When will be accessible on ofp.info? These Dutch troops will go great with my Canadian and Netherlands troops (I already have both of them upgraded to the new Diemarco series). This opens some great ideas for excellent multi-national mission(s)/campaigns with my 3 fav nations. Keep up the great work folks and I will be sure to download anything you guys make public. Thanks and happy holidays. Gaultesian

Hi Avonlady, OFP crashes as soon as it started - no error message because it crashes and restarts (reboots) my computer. I have not put the addons in a seperate folder, but I had put the new addons in the res folder as per the instructions in the BOH1.2 demo instructions. Also, after testing again, BOHJSDF6.PBO also causes the crash. I will try the seperate file folder in my res addons folder - i assume I will call it BOH? Thanks, And please keep helping me - I am almost scared to use these addons now for fear of crashing my comp. Gaultesian

I seem to be having some sort of problem with the BOH addon. After installing the addons to all of their correct places (including the 2 BOHJSDF0.PBO addons to the standard ofp and res addons) my computer would crash and reboot. I tried to place each addon in - one at a time (I know they do not work without all of the others, but just for testing purposes to see which addon pbo was making the crash). BOHJSDF5.PBO is causing the crash - can anyone help me - I would love to try these out (I had the original BOH demo, and as per the installation instructions I deleted all of them from my addons folders before I installed the new one). Any help would be great. Thanks, Gaultesian

Here is a list of 'futuristic rifles' that I have in my links area: 1. The HK Pack by the Lost Brother's Mod - the original OICW addon - although you will have to download all of the HK weapons to access it - it's still the best one out there. 2. The Arme Francais ModFelin troop pack - in it you will find the French PAPOP OICW variant. You can also download it from URL=http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?sekce=unofaddons/units&archiv=true&page=1]Ofp.cz[/url]. The original FELIN addon had a different OICW rifle, that they no longer use for the addon - here is a link to the old FELIN page - I don't think the download link on the page works anymore, but you can notice the smaller, older version of the PAPOP - it was pretty cool - it had a 20mm launcher as well. 3. I cannot find the link to the FN2000 - someone made it about 6 months ago, I downloaded it, but it does not have any grenade or 20mm launcher (it comes in a regular and sniper version), although the FN2000 is suppose to have a grenade launching device of some sort. I hope this helps you out in your search. Gaultesian

I live about 24 miles away from St. Pierre and Miquelon. Â Nice islands, really great people, and Canadians (Newfoundlanders, actually), do a lot of 'rum running' from the islands. Â It has a good old world feeling to it and I am not sure if the people there are primarily Basque (I have only seen French oriented cultural icons when I was there). Btw, Charles de Gaulle took over St. Pierre and Miquelon during the early days of the war from Vichy France. The north island is sparely populated, with large sandy seashores. Â The south and smaller island has the town of St. Pierre - which is of town size (about 4 to 5 thousand people I think). I hope this adds some more info to your work and I would love to play this island when it is completed! Thanks, Gaultesian

Mi 28 news on flashpoint newscenter
gaultesian replied to gaultesian's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
True, but the thread started by Red Star Studios talks about the tanks they are currently working on, and on their site they have no pics or mention (as of the time of my writing this) regarding the MI 28. Â A new topic seemed justified because it may be drowned out in the Red Star thread due to the fact that it is mostly about their upcoming T55 tanks. Sincerely, Gaultesian -
Just saw this on Flashpoint.ru (both english and russian sites) here. Seems Red Star Studio is doing more than just developing great looking T55's. Finally something to counter the Apache. Sincerely, Gaultesian

Can we see pics of the completed FN2000? Thanks, Gaultesian
