Hello all. I would like to thank all those who voted on Respawns Game of the year poll. I know we got off to a dodgy start but the results cannot be argued with. The vote was fair and honest and victory goes to the best game of year. Operation flashpoint Resistance wins Respawns Game of year for BIS. This is a second time in a Row OFP has won this award at Respawn. There are 3 things worth mentioning at this point. 1) Resistance is a mission pack and still won. 2) Bis have consistantly produced very good games. 3) This years games where all excellent too. For this reason Respawn has awarded BIS its outstanding achievement award for pulling of the double in winning Game of the year for the second time in a row. All the more so because its still the same game and the fans still love it even after nearly 18 months. A Classic in its own right. Please pass on my congratulations to the team and my thanks as a player for producing such a fine game. The award is well deserved and the fans stood by you loyally throughout the vote. I my eyes it would make a worthy winner but to be honest both leaders would. So im pleased the voting is going in favour of 2 of the best 3 games. I wish MTW was doing better though, thats a fine game too. Giskard

Oh no..... Cerberus will be unbareable if you do that placebo lol BTW you wont get an email. You should be able to vote though. I switched it off to make registering quicker for the vote. Some users mispell their email addys and then end up complaining their not validated you see. Wish i had remembered to turn of the email new registrations too me feature too. my mail box is packed. Anyway, just be careful when you vote. Its rather sensative and will cast a null vote if make a mistake and once that happens you have lost your vote completely. Giskard

I have taken Placebos advice and switched to another polling booth that is not so open to abuse. Voting as restarted and the results should be fair now. I feel this is only way OFP can win fairly now without being accused of vote rigging. I should have thought about this earlier. My appologies. You will have to Register on the forums to vote but this is a painless process and can be completed in less than a minute. Thank you Placebos for the advice mate. OFP stands a good chance of winning anyway so this action should make any victory unquestionable in the future. If OFP wins. Giskard

Edit: I am currently retreating multiple votes spread over a period of days as a fact of life and living with it. My concern is only for the delibrate and casting of multiple votes within a short space of time. This applies to all games involved. OFP is winning now because it deserves to be in the lead. Giskard

My logs have the IP's of those involved and Im watching for those IPs now. Sorry to all you honest guys, it makes you look bad I know but I also know you have been trying hard so rather than punish and entire community because of 2 prats I have taken the action mentioned on the site. Looks like some people dont listen. Let me rephase my last post. How many votes would OFP:R get if i reset the OFP:R score to 0 for cheating ? Or better yet removed OFP:R from the vote entirely. I hope that makes it very clear. I too like OFP:R and I feel it deserves to win but so do at least 2 other games on that list. OFP doesnt need someone cheating in order to win. Its doing perfectly well on its own. Many of the honest fans would be deeping annoyed to see OFP:R disqualified after they have spent so much time trying to drum up support and get more votes. Right now OFP is 15mins away from being removed from the vote for that reason. If the person on now persists. Giskard

Calm down guys my logs show a Rat at work. I Don't mind you voting more than once but lets not go mad in a single hour. You have enough votes pooring in from this forum alone to keep you in the lead right now. Trust me on this, I know. The nearest compition is getting a third as many visitors to vote. Giskard

The site does allow some users to cast more than one vote. Its some bug thats not been fixed. But everybody can do it and if a fan feels a games good enough to vote for more than once than great. Perhaps the game deserves to be number. Nobody votes more than once for bad games if they vote at all. However, any attempt to automatically cast thousands of votes will result in my logs showing it and that will lead to ban for the offending game or an ip ban for the player/group. But Game of the year is supposed to the players chance to say which game they enjoyed the most this year and chance to tell others about the games they enjoyed too. Many fans of other games are now watching the leaders with interest. Â A little cross community curiosity if taking place. Even though the leaders are totally different games entirely. You guys have done well to come back and take first place. MTW has dropped behind and now its just OFP and DS. Still 9 days to go though. BTW, check out the downloads section of Respawn. Its not exactly a site that has ignored OFP so far so you may find something of interest in there Giskard

OFP is making a run at second place guys, Coming from no where. Looks like it might actually stand a chance of being top game for the second time in a row. Still we have until 10 Nov to find out. Giskard

There are currently a lot of players making multiplayer missions for OFP Resistance. My self included. Coops are on my list things to do just after Capture & Hold. My next mission. I will not start a coop until I have a good idea for it. The initial idea makes or breaks the mission so thats one area you cannot rush. I also have to update my old coop missions. One of the patches broke them slightly. Giskard
