  1. I'm very interested in buying ArmA, however, I'm on a really high-ping internet (satelite-- live out of town about 10 miles, it's the only thing available), and I'm curious as to how the game works in multiplayer. Does everything go through the server first Like in COD or MOHAA? When I have 700+ ms ping I'll click the fire button and wait over a second before the game will fire the weapon, and if I try to move I'll go forward, warp back, go forward, warp back etc... until I stay still for several seconds and it'll put me where I should be.. Essentially unplayable. OR, is it different? Like WWIIOL (not sure if anyone's played that), where my computer tells the server where I am and what I'm doing. Like when I click the fire button, on my screen it'll shoot instantly, and if I hit whoever I was shooting at they'll die 700ms later, then 700ms after that I'll see them fall down dead. Basically, is it possible to play on high-ping internet? thanks
  2. heh, I play online chess from time to time BTW, that site set off my mcafee 'site Advisor' for spyware and other bad joojoo.
  3. Ok, that's good news With other games like this it's usually OK for medium to long range. The latency is less noticeable. Some warping, but at those ranges hiting moving targets is tough anyways. Close ranges are almost always frustrating. (simul-kills and running behind corners and dieing afterwards because of the latency) I try to play sniper whenever I can, or atleast some form of rifle. I'll see if I can get the demo on my computer. I have to get it downloaded and on some sort of disk or something on another computer because satelite internet practically shuts down after 150-200mb. Thanks for the help, guys.
