  1. For all we know, the mouse lag problem may already be fixed, but we won't see it till the next patch
so what the hell are these forums for? I thought for foster dialogue between devs and community? is this so difficult to write 1 ****in post and refer to the issue? I suppose they silence cuz just cant do anything and it will never be fixed.

  2. If you don't like the mouse lag, petition for it to be fixed. It obviously isn't realistic and no one is arguing that it doesn't exist. Weapon inertia and movement/turn speed restrictions however are there for a good reason - and they are an entirely separate issue. If you want to play a game where you can spin around and headshot someone before he can even blink, Arma2 is not a game for you.
omg how to headshot before he "can even blink" if my optics move? this is not so easy even without lag. it has nothing to do with accuracy, it has to do with smoothness and overall feeling of playing the game.

we petition for this for 17 pages on this, and 26 on the other thread (which has over 16.100 views now!) and mouse lag fix is still 0% done: link !!! :icon13:

  3. Arma2 isn't and never will be a twitch shooter... Tactical Military Simulator... Not First Person Shooter.
so "Tactital Military Simulator" cannot be in first person perspective. and it can't be smooth and lag free just because this is a "Tactital Military Simulator". have you ever played Falcon4 or DCS: Blackshark? try and see what a real "Military Simulator" is and how smooth it can be.

The only thing that make ArmA2 close to simulator is that it has complete battlefield (there is infantry, vehicles and airaft), but all that stuff is unrealistic and arcade - like.

I'll never buy this if mouse lag issue is not resolved.:aa:

  4. noone cares about ... your petition, this is not a CS clone or anything like that, its a realistic tactical game. go back to BF2 pls.
I care. and if u have nothing constructive to say then shut up please. CS and BF2 may be also tactical (like every FPS game).

  5. ...I also notice that there will be almost no input lag, but upon changing the video memory setting it is very noticeable. It doesn't matter what I change it to, from the point of changing it on, it is always there. (Until I restart the game.) :yay:

yep i've noticed it too. it also depends on resolution - the higher resolution, the greater lag. on 1280/1024 the lag is minimal but still noticable and annoying.

  6. you didn't say anything about your motherboard chipset which is very important, but what you listed above (especially CPU) is not enough to run the game smoothly. I would suggest you some high-end Intel Core2Duo or (better but more expensive option) one of the Core2Quad processors and GTX260-GTX285 / ATI 4870 or higher video card. amount of RAM doesn't matter to the framerate and I think 2GB will be quite enough.

  7. maybe a bit off-topic but i can't figure out how to make my soldier running immediately from the prone position (i dont want him to stand up first and then run, but i want him to run immediately with the specified animation). in ArmA1 I've got it binded to "forward with break" (or something similar), but in A2 soldier indeed break (strafe) first then run, and the "fast forward" function doesn't work (he stays on prone but just crawling faster).

    any ideas?

  8. You do know this is Military Simulation and not a First Person Shooter?
    I loled here :)
    VOTE: NO

Its not meant to play like a shooter like BF, COD or whatever kinda game.

It's a realistic shooter, and it's supposed to be realistic, not accurate as h3LL.

I'fe u don't like it, revert to CS, COD, of BF

well, this is the most stupid post I've read on this thread. zooming without scope and acquiring the target with one button is realistic to you? looks like some of you guys don't understand this guy and his problem. he is probly having the mouse lag bug that is discussed here: link

  9. ah lol I thought it works with Geforces as well :P and now with your nVidia Tray Tools I'm getting "sorry, support for this version of Windows is currently unavailable". no luck, lol. :D have anyone else tried this (disabling v-sync with AtiTrayTools) on Windows XP? cuz I don't believe any of you guys magic "fixes". the only 1 who I believe here is Maruk, but seems like he doesn't like us anymore (since some of us have bought the game). :D

  10. I've tried forcing v-sync off with ATI Tray Tools but it (the program) doesn't work with my Vista x64 SP2. I'm getting a message "access violation at adress blablabla...". not supported by this OS? :386:

setting maximal number of pre-rendered frames to 8, increased my framerate (from 48 to 54 fps in benchmark), but it has nothing to do with a mouse lag issue.

and btw, the mouse lag on Placebo's movie is noticable, I dont understand how some ppl don't feel that playing ArmA?. maybe this is an ansfer (no offence to anyone):

...At least for a hardcore gamer, there is no pleasure in playing an FPS and trying to improve your skill if the mouse doesn't correspond to where you're trying to shoot. If you're a casual gamer, see no difference either way, I don't see why you'd even argue about it...

so this is our feedback to the game, but I still cannot see any from developers to the community. am I the only one feel that we are alone and nobody hear us? :confused2:

    EDIT:

thx for the tip Habitats but I can't get it to work (still getting an arror message).

  11. first some screenies:

    screenshot1, screenshot2, screenshot3, screenshot4, screenshot5

I've been playing demo only, but I guess bugs/glithes are the same in 1.02 505 version, so:

    what I like in ArmA2:

    - sky! (is like a real one)

    - voices (yes I like them, they are much better than these from ArmA1)

    - improved AI

    - graphics (sometimes is amazing)

    - overall atmosphere

    what I'd like to change:

    - mouse lag! (like somebody said here, "this is the worst bug for ANY FPS game")

    - bloom (is too strong and too much glow when posteffects are enabled)

    - ugly M4 EOTEH (same as it's owner Patrick Miles). this one would be much better:

. also AH1 Cobra model doesn't look good.

    - naked palms. I would like gloves for more classes. these from ArmA1 sniper class would be pretty good: image

    - muzzle flash (looks horrible and cover target when firing at night)

    - command menu is poor and uncomfortable. there is only a few useless commands for human players. lack of team or request commands like "cover me" or "enemy spotted": image1, image2, image3

    - antialiasing at low reduces performance too much

    - reporting enemies through the buildings

    - ACOG sight is oversized

    - bad spectator camera controll

    what I'd like to add:

    - CCIP bombing mode for aircraft

    - rate of fire toggle animation (like in America's Army f.e): clip. it really sux when you have to choose through grenades/launcher, if you want to shoot with bullets only

    - enhanced command menu (see above)

    my system specs:

    C2D E8400@4GHz, GF 8800 GTS 512, P35-DS4, 2 GB RAM

  12. lets wait till it's fixed. maybe it mobilize Bohemia to fix that sh*%#$^#%. there is still a few military games (like America's Army 3 f.e.), that we can play waiting for this. and OFPDR is coming soon (sorry Maruk). :)

    btw.:

...I can safely say that I will not be playing this game. It forces some kind of HOLYFUCKINGSHIT***!!!HORRIBLE!!!***HOLYFUCKINGSHIT motherfucking mouse smoothing on the player. For the love of God, it is identical to playing on a console controller!!! No matter how fast you move your mouse, you cant turn any faster than a certain speed that is determined by your in-game mouse sensitivity. I tried running my mouse back and forth across my entire mousepad quickly and then moving it slowly, all while watching the game screen move the same fucking speed. If you have watched any videos of it being played and the player seems half-retarded, its really because he is fighting the mouse. You cant turn it off, it is built in. I honestly never thought Id see mouse control this bad in a pc game...

...At least for a hardcore gamer, there is no pleasure in playing an FPS and trying to improve your skill if the mouse doesn't correspond to where you're trying to shoot. If you're a casual gamer, see no difference either way, I don't see why you'd even argue about it...

...The hope is that the developer receives the feedback and does whatever they want with it, hopefully changes some stuff.

looks like we are not alone guys ;)

  13. I think a lot of ppl having the problem, but they either think this is normal (caused by low performance) or they don't feel it (it doesn't disturb them). on many configs the game isn't fluid even at high fps rate like 50 - 100. the lag may be minimal (it may be even 0.1 ms), but always presents and I can feel it. definitely something is wrong with mouse imput or ArmA's engine and it should be finally fixed.

  14. ok I've been playing ArmA2 demo for a few last days and I have to say the game overall is awesome :). sounds and voices are pretty good (much improvement from AA1). graphics (especially weapon models that are ugly) is not as realiscic as in Americas Army 3 for example, but sometimes impressive, and the sky is really amazing :D.

however, there are a few things I would like to change in full game:

    - mouse lag! (like somebody said here, "this is the worst bug for ANY FPS game")

    - bloom (too much glow when posteffects are enabled)

    - ugly M4 EOTEH (same as it's owner Patrick Miles). this one would be much better:
