    Liberation 1941-45 Mod patch 1.09

T_Roc Do have any plans for german AT guns such as the Pak 38 or Pak 40 in both camo schemes. Will we see a captured T-34/76 as well.

    Liberation 1941-45 Mod patch 1.09

After translating Flashpoint.ru I heard you are developing an addon pack, I was wondering if it would be possible to add an indirect fire script like the German Mortar. To an alternative version of the Zis-3 as it was used in indirect fire support as well as antitank. I just prefer the mortar artillery support to the generic artillery scripts. Since the AI reacts to it like CoC and has the excellant sound and shrapnel script as well. Also it would be nice for the Russians to have indirect fire as well as the Germans.

    Liberation 1941-1945: Patch 1.08

An excellant mod, keep up the good work. However just a few suggestions and a query. According to this website, www.bayonetstrength.150m.com All Medics should only be armed with pistols or revolvers. German machine gunners also have a pistol and HMG gunners should not be armed with rifles but a pistol. Early war german platoon sergeants should only be armed with pistols. The MG34 usually had a 250 belt feed when used in the HMG role against infantry.

    Liberation 1941-1945: Patch 1.07

This an excellant mod please keep up the good work. One thing I'm confused with is the designation sdkfz 251/18 all the information on the web indicates armoured artillery observation vehicle? Are there any reasons why you have not included Pzgr40 to the Pak 35/36 as I have found information that indicates its use? Will you be developing any german AT and HEAT rifle grenades for 42?

    1970 vs 2010

What list, its just the USA. http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Superpower

    1970 vs 2010

The only trouble with the latest military technology is that its classified or speculation. Will I see a realistic T-95 or BTR-90 or will they use the same unrealistic armour system from OFP1. At least with the 80's most information can be obtained about military hardware and organisation. With the US being the only real superpower at the moment and probably in 2010 it seems rather one sided.

    Carl Gustav?

Only Rangers and US Navy Seals use the M3 Carl Gustav in the US forces. Back in 1985 it would of been the M47 Dragon and for modern US infantry units it is now the Javelin. If you think the AT inventory in OFP is bad they did the same to the LAW system in VBS1. So soldiers can carry only 4 magazines. I'm definitely going to wait for OFP2, hopefully they learned from the Javelin issue in VBS1 by then as well. Although it not as bad as the Su-25 carrying a Su-39 loadout in 1985 and using anti-shipping missiles for a AT role. Thank goodness for Addon makers.

  11. I wonder if they allow the Su39 to carry 16 Vikhir missiles.

    1970 vs 2010

At least with 2010 the Ka-50 (V-80)will seem believeable it wasn't adopted by the Russian Federation until 1996. So no Mi28N Havocs either since they went with the former not the latter. Although they could be sold to other countries maybe.

    Accuracy and Realism

Please get rid of the burst facility on the AK47 and AK74. Why are Stinger misiles so weak against OPFOR aircraft. While the SA-7 can easily destroy BLUFOR aircraft. Will I every see an official addon for the RPK-74. Please don't allow Russian Federation troops to use 1985 era equipment if its set in 2010. Combat load is terrible. Please use realistic combat loads. For example, the RPG-7v gunner will not be armed with an assault rifle but a pistol if he's lucky. Please don't include oversized equipment loadouts. Such as the M203 grenade taking up 2 inventory slots, this has been rectified on VBS1 recently in a patch. If going to include a LAW system please don't use the VBS1 system. Please base it on a weight ratio system or TO&E. Why can't you make all inventory slots universal. So that other items can be stored in the pistol inventory slots. Please include mines both AP and AT it adds alot more depth to missions.

    Maps and Overall Gameplay Suggestions

If BIS is going to use terrain 2 from VBS1 for the next generation then please fill out the scenary a bit and make the roads interconnect. The terrain for the jungle island is not what I consider a jungle environment. It reminds me too much of the Vietnam highlands.

    Game physics

I would be just happy if vehicles (or even a LST)didn't fly everytime I hit them with a AT missile from a fixed wing aircraft.

    Ai thread

Having owned VBS1 and using GOTY edition of Flashpoint. Please use the AI system for GOTY for sequel. As the AI isn't as good in my humble opinion. AI does not use grenades very well and using grenade launchers is non existant. Detection process is flawed epecially with locating snipers. Although the flanking process is better in VBS1 though.

    Rpg/law effectiveness

Well, the M2A2 wasn't even around in 1985 and the M2A1 was and it didn't have the improved armour. OF1 is not that military accurate or realistic. There is a fine line between realism and game balance. For example the spigot AT-4 is a tripod crew served weapon and was never designed to be fired from the shoulder. The RPG-22 was around in 1985 and is the equivalent to the AT4 M136 but it never got in the game. A fifty calibre AP round will penetrate a BMP-1 and in OF1 will destroy the BMP-1 killing everybody providing you fire along enough. If you want almost realistic armour penetration play Combat Mission I can't see Bohemia going out of thier way to develop such commitment. Operation Flashpoint is just a first person shooter with knobs on not a combat simulation.

    Update site?

I've lost my bright lightbulb what does this mean. I'm not in favour because I complained? Or does it need changing? How many moderators do you need to change a lightbulb? Typical, its lit up again must been a powercut or loose connection.

    Update site?

Have to agree with Impavido, the OFP2 forums are ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, and ZZZZ also ZZZZ. I'm really getting bored with the speculations and promised titbits. You can only keep a donkey interested by tangling a carrot in front of its nose for so long... See you in 6 months maybe, provided I remember to come back for some reason or another. Yes, I am duckling disatisfied customer! Yes, I live in a duckling democracy where I can vote for the European referendum but not against a duckling illegal war.

    A bridge too far?

When I first played the original version of Resistance. I experimented with the Davle bridge. I flew under it, and landed at CH-47 on it and blew it up using a Ka50(V80). However noticed two problems that occurred when mucking around in the mission editor. One I couldn't get a AI BMP or T72 over the bridge without it falling into the water. As though the bridge wasn't even there! I don't now this is true for all armour, either AI or player. I must admit it didn't try it for cars. This may have been rectified on the resistance upgrades. I had same trouble with the AI infantry squad if I placed a MOVE waypoint on the opposite side of the bridge. The first time I hit preview the officer decided to go swimming instead and drown. Even when I put them in column formation their was a chance that somebody would drown in the 9 person squad. This of course maybe improved by scripting on more waypoints, however my knowledge of scripting is very basic. Another thing I found strange that using a AI East sniper against the squad on the opposite side with a clear view of the bridge. He wouldn't engage the enemy until they were two thirds of the way across the bridge. Even in daytime and at night it was even worse, even though the bridge is lit like a Christmas tree. I also tried the same with an East Officer with NV, again two thirds of the way across before he even reacted! This leads to me another point, the AI react differently at night since it is stated their perception is reduced. That it is all very well, but what about when street and bridge lights effect this. Are their any differences, again what about moonlit nights as well. We know this is a important aspect in night assaults before the days of everybody having NV. I would be nice to know if anybody else has noticed this or could tell me that this has been rectified. Otherwise it needs some serious thought when comes to OFP2. Regarding bridge physics and AI perception and interaction with them.

    Military research

The only thing I didn't like about OPF1 was military accuracy. For example the RPG-22 came out in 1985 which is a one shot AT weapon. Rumours speculate this was the device which diabled one of the M1A1's in the latest Gulf War. So why was the AT-4 Spigot used, it is way to heavy to fire on the shoulder, hence it needs a tripod and is a crew served weapon. The M2A2 was not developed until 1987 so it should not be in a 1985 campaign. Armour penetration for the OFP M2A2 is relatively accurate for the M2A0, however the M2A2 has the modified armour so it therefore can survive a single RPG-7 round, which doesn't happen in OFP1, the M2A2 destroyed more T72's in the last Gulf War than the M1A1. A last example, is squad organisation, OF1 had each squad carry at least two general purpose machine guns either the M60 or PK. What happened to the Squad Automatic Weapon the RPK-74 and the M16A1(M249 didn't get into production to the 1990's). The general purpose machine guns should only belong to weapon squads and this should allow only up to three general purpose machine guns per platoon. There are plenty of military resources about, however most modern equipment details are classified. The M1A2 and M2A3 armours details are restricted. So it will be difficult to give accurate armour penetration values so alot of educated guesses will be needed. All I'm saying please allow more study of military organisation and equipment. If OFP2 has the same military accuracy say of the Combat Mission series then I will rest my case. The way I see it regarding infantry weapons, realistically should only allow what an average soldier can carry. Otherwise you end up with a Quake or Halflife mentality. Â

    You said it!

    Improved unit editor

The original OFP did not employ crew served weapons? Why make things more complicated. Eh! why do you think it was fired at the rear of the tank and at a vulnerable point. A lucky shot would be if penetrated the front of its armour. Likewise it depends what type of ammunition you are using to penetrate armour. Hence the various types of RPG rounds. There is no universal round which can penetrate all types of armour! The RPG-22 is designed for AT purposes not knocking out battleships! You could make the game complicated and start using various types of RPG round for different types of so called armours. If a RPG-22 can disable M1A1 in all intensive purposes if should be able to damage M2A2. If in OFP you can knock out a M2A2 with a RPG NH-75 and thats something that actually hasn't happened in reality yet! I didn't actually state the RPG-22 can penetrate all types of armour thats your own delusion!

    Improved unit editor

I know the Russian Infantry and Airborne allow their soldiers to carry an AK74 and SVD. Though I wouldn't like it in the game, playing Call of Duty I find unrealistic when you can carry 8 grenades, Thompson, BAR, and Colt 45. I would like however for Bohemia not to include crew served weapons. For example, the AT4 Spigot and only use one man AT Weapons like the RPG-22 (equivalent to the AT4 136). Which actually surposedly disabled a M1A1 with one shot from the rear. So you don't need heavier portable crew served weapons or artillary to compensate for heavy armour. The same goes for firing individually Artillary pieces otherwise I imagine I'm playing Moh Spearhead. With ground attack aircraft and helicopters realistically most portable SAM systems, can knock them out in one shot shot in the right area. Hence why they use antimissile systems like chaff and flares. You can even knock helicopters with small arms fire. I would be nice though to muck around with the inventory so I could have realistically have 6 mags and 4 frags. You get way to many grenades, but maybe Bohemia decided to compensate for those like myself who first played and couldn't hit a barn door. People who want to carry more weapons and use crew served weapons should really be playing first person shooters. In OFP you can either pick up the weapon you need for the job or the AI on your side can do it. The whole idea of a combat sim is tactics not firepower.
