    Bas cargo scripts

    For some reason moveInDriver does not work properly in MP if vehicle isn't local. FDFMod 1.3 has similar scripts for some vehicles like helos and boats and no matter what I tried they just don't work properly in MP.

    I made small tool for changing MLOD texture paths, it's never been "officially" released as I haven't bothered to write any documentation but FDFMod team and few people on #ofpec IRC channel have used it succesfully, and it really doesn't have too many buttons Download it here (236kB)

    Performance difference with HiddenSelections?

    They are NOT rendered by game, if it did they would be visible then of course. They might cause very small CPU hit but it would be offset by having a lot smaller memory requirements for your addon. Most of FDFMod 1.3 units are just single P3D for each service branch which is then used to have all different variations like officer, medic, NCO etc. and I haven't noticed any performance difference compared to having different .p3d's for every models. Instead, it uses a lot less memory and has smaller disk space requirements which probably enhances performance.

    There's huge difference between "good enough for taking screenshot" and "good enough for actually being playable". Making model and getting it ingame for a few screenshots is the easiest part.

    Those units have their own init eventhandlers and custom user actions which override FDFMod settings. Try looking up "Open Parachute" function in FDFMod config and add it manually to your units using addAction command.

    i get that sometimes, but when i place them somewhere else they land fine  There are some fixes coming to HALO parachutes with probaby-soon-to-be-released 1.3.1 - exact release date depends on few nasty OFP bugs which we have to find workarounds and mod folks summer holidays.

    They are lane markers for coastal boats, unfortunately Visitor does not allow you to place any objects above sea level.. So only place you can see them are islands of the eastborder.

    Once I got asked "you've got funny accent, are you from Florida?" It might be because there are huge amounts of Finnish pensioners living in Florida, but more probable cause is that Finnish and Spanish (and some Arabs) tend to pronounce english in a same way.. Incidentally, many Finnish people sound really fluent in Spanish if they just pronounce J as H (and speak a lot faster and wave their hands around a lot ). Same thing with Finnish people speaking Japanese.

    Server is in Finland, so european clients might get it very fast or very slow, just depending on where you do live. Also, some firewall software which do .exe file scanning get bite they can't chew with almost 500MB installer .exe, so if you dare, you might want to disable .exe file scanning on your firewall software. At least version of Tiny Firewall I'm using (last free one, can't remember exact version) has problems with that installer, even resulting on fw software crash to blue screen.

    1.2->1.3 patch would be almost same size as full 1.3, no there probably won't be one. I'm sorry but I just can only recommend finding a friend with broadband and burning it on to CD.

    You could also make a new T-55, but you chose not to because RHS' fit the bill perfectly. I felt that the FDF Mod's recoil values were excellent and didn't need improving. One would think that would be regarded as a compliment rather than as something bad. Some things we contribute quite freely, and you'll see probably a few familiar models in other mod projects every now and then. Some things we can't release even if we wanted, and some things we just don't want to release, all for various reasons. If it makes us "arrogant" or "childish" then so be it, but it is our right to do so. For Kegetys' Russian Weapons Pack, it is are freely available to be used if certain conditions are met and already have been used in various mods. As stated in readme, they mainly are about avoiding conflicting classnames and crediting original author. As for FDF's recoil values, they are far from perfect, AI has quite a lot of trouble shooting accurately at close ranges as it can't readjust from recoil quickly enough and ends up shooting too high (and adding skill level even makes it worse).

    Dithering explained As for mipmap filtering, they're just different filtering algorithms for calculating scaled-down versions for mipmaps. Default value (box sampling) is best one for general usage, though in some special cases with alpha channels it might be better to use "point" sampling. You can experiment with resizing images for example in Photoshop to see difference between different algorithms. PAATool might be little confusing at first, but it is designed to give complete control to texturer in every stage of converting texture.
