    Dynamic War

What I'mdoing is killing myself with a 'nade, and then clicking "abort". Then, when I want to restart, I click on "Resume" from the load screen, and it CTD's. I'm still playing it, because it's simply an awesome add-on. I just have to restart it all the time.

    Dynamic War

It is impossible for me to exit this "mission" without a CTD. I even tried the "blow myself up" method...no dice. Arrg!

    Dynamic War

I've got an issue with this: Whenever I try and quit (after saving using the radio), I hit Escape, and then hit Abort...the game autosaves...which, of course, causes a CTD when I try and reload it. How do I get around this?

    Crosshair issue

    Agreed. Totally.

Armed Assault is missing quite a few basics

No no. Don't be fooled...it is you who is the idiot. Don't be so hard on a guy who had a few questions. Sheesh

Playtesting - SP Airborne Airfield Seizure

Excellent mission. It was a bit frame-intensive for my old PC (AMD 2.3GHz and Radeon x800 pro), but it was playable and an enormous amount of fun. It really gave me that "all hell has broke loose" feeling. I managed to make it through only having to load once (but I was quite cautious). *Very* good mission. I'd give it a 9/10.
  7. Never mind. Got it to work. DARNED "" MARKS!!!
  8. Hey folks. Is it possible to use the addweapon command to a civilian? I can't seem to get it to work...

    Mission Insertion

I'll help you out Raz0rx: 1st: Create a unit: you. In the initialisation field, type: this moveInCargo chopper1; this assignAsCargo chopper1 2nd: Create a helicopter and call it "chopper1" (in the name field) note: make sure the helo and you are not in the same group 3rd: Place an invisible H on the spot where you want the helo to set you down (if you look under Empty -> objects, invisible H should be there) 4th: Set a waypoint for the helo on the invisible H, and make sure the waypoint type is "Cargo Unload" 5th: set a waypoint for yourself there, and make sure the type is set to "get out. 6th: Then, synchronise chopper1's Unload waypoint and your Get Out waypoint by selecting "Synchronise" in the tool bar on the right and drawing a line connecting the two. Try it out. It should work.

An open letter to the ArmA community.

It's never a good idea to upgrade simply for one game. Besides that, the video card you have isn't that great. It will, however, play ArmA...but you have to set it to the correct settings. Try tweaking it a bit to find the optimal settings.

An open letter to the ArmA community.

Hmmm. What should I say? Well, I guess I agree that *as it is right now*, the game is lackluster. Bugs? Yup. Graphics glitches? Yup. AI issues? Well...maybe. But that said, I love it, and I am going to love it for a long time. Why? Because, at the end of all the whining and fanboy-ing, after the dust has settled, there will remain a dedicated group of ArmA simulation fans that will make this a great simulation. I don't mind the bugs and the issues. Why? Well because I see ArmA for what it is: a great springboard. What happens if (when?) companies like BIS are forced out of business because giants like EA and Ubisoft push out mass-produced, non-supported boring games like Need for Speed XXX, simply because it makes them $$$? We suffer...that's what. And I don't want that to happen. I've already seen it happen to the flight sim market, which I used to absolutely love. I don't want it to happen here. Yes, BIS are after money as well...we all are (at least those of us in a Capatalist society). But at the end of the day, BIS are producing a game that is more about giving back to the community as opposed to making some quick millions and then sodding off to mass-produce the next bland, cross-platform junk that is polluting gamespace these days. Yeah, it's kinda stinky right now, and yes I would prefer it if the game developers were present on the boards, but I am willing to deal with it in the hope that this game will become what I think it will. @paco454: I agree with you (except the class action suit). I feel bad for you and if you decide to leave the community, we will be worse off for not having you here with us. But I would completely understand if you leave ArmA and never return. If you can just stick it out a while longer...mark my words...it will be worth it. It's like democracy: it's advanced citizenship...you gotta want it bad. Even when you've lost your job to downsizing, and you're standing face to face to a guy decrying at the top of his lungs that which you have spent a lifetime advocating at the top of yours: it's a tough road, and it's not for everybody. But those who stay can experience an amazing thing. If you don't stay Paco, I hope you *do* get your money back, and hope that you find a game which entertains you. I for one am staying right here: in with the bugs and crashes and fanboys and whiners. It's gonna be great!

What's a funkmenue? And how do install this script? The instructions are all in German (I knew I should have paid more attention in German class!!!
  14. Hey folks. Let's say I create an MH6 helicopter unit, and name it chopper1. I have chopper1 fly a few waypoints, and then I would like to get the helo to land and the pilot to get out and go to a certain spot. I can get the pilot out with a "Get Out" waypoint, and I can then set a move waypoint. But then, I'd like to have a trigger that will send the pilot back to the helo to do some more flying. How do I then address the pilot? Is the pilot then called chopper1?
  15. essemm

    The "engineOn" command

Hey raedor. I think that makes the pilot get out of the chopper though...doesn't it?
