"Two of the pics are split" Is that legal??? Picking off Amerikansiy:
-
Hey Blackdog what kind of units are these? who's making them?? This looks more like a Russian soldier to me . But he's still Suchey's marine... Russian naval infantry.
-
Thanks for the tip, I´ll try it. Cheers You can also turn your in-game Gamma level down to normal settings (around 1 or lower) and correct with your brightness while you take screens. Then when they output to windows they will still look similar, not so much darker.

That was the idea I had. Â They're wearing this Naval Infantry badge, but I don't know much else about Russian marines:

Any trick to making Fraps work? It's not saving any pics for me. I have screencap hotkey enabled (numlock) but it doesn't dump pics into the fraps dir.

hehe, i don't want to play this game anymore.

Yeah, fair enough. Â Let me change "well-known" to actively working for". Â I'm not supporting the validity of this article, but read on for yourself: http://www.jamestown.org/pubs/view/chw_004_015_001.htm
-
This is a good reference that gets updated often: http://www.jamestown.org/pub_chechnya.htm They seem pretty objective [*edit* nevermind, they don't like Russians very much], but consider that their website states: "The Jamestown Foundation's mission is to contribute to U.S. understanding of its strategic adversaries that pose a threat to democracy and freedom." One thing I've read here that I haven't seen elsewhere in North American news is that one of the Chechen hostage-takers from the theatre in Moscow was well known to the Russian FSB, and suggests that some authorities might have known there would be a terrorist attack in Moscow. The name I keep seeing everywhere is Anna Politkovskaya, a reporter well known for covering the Chechen conflict. Â Try a search of her name and look for translated articles. For a look at the lives of Chechens, check out the book Chienne de Guerre by Anne Nivat. Â She's a french journalist who slipped into Chechnya disguised as a Chechen woman. Â It's certainly biased, but I can accept that and read it for what it is.

Joint ammo and mag project (jam)
earl replied to Tigershark_BAS's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
For common mags, I like the idea of: 5.56mm 30rnd [sEMI/BURST/AUTO] 5.56mm 20rnd 5.56mm CMAG 5.56mm 100rnd (cloth SAW pouch) 5.56mm 200rnd etc. Someone with an M4 won't see M16 mags, they will be different because of the different trigger groups, but I think we should still keep the 'visible name' the same (5.56mm 30rnd). -
Again, good to see some support for JAM, I think it will work out well. To keep things a little organized however, let's keep JAM discussion in the JAM thread. Suffice it to say that our USMC weapons will use JAM mags by default.
-
Well, since JAM is being developed by BAS, Suchey, and myself, I do think it will be JAM compliant. Good to see people are interested in the JAM project.

Incredible. I can't stop staring at the second screenshot, of the roof. I can barely tell what's geometry and what's only texture. Amazing technical and artistic ability.
-
There will be two Force Recon units, a regular MFR rifleman and an assaulter for CQB. The sniper isn't intended to be part of Force Recon, he's part of a regular USMC sniper/scout team.

I say we breed billions of hamsters and build billions of tiny generators...

Can someone tell where can i find a realistic m249
earl replied to rbeni12's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thanks rifleman! I'll have an M249 to challenge all M249s in the not-extremely-distant future. -
I work at a large produce greenhouse where a cogeneration system is being installed. I don't clearly understand the whole project, we don't have much to do with it besides the fact that it's being installed at our site, but it is interesting: http://www.jxj.com/magsandj/cospp/news/2003_02_03.html Landfill sites produce a lot of methane gas from decomposing refuse, somehow that gets collected and was once burned simply to get rid of it. Since our site is near the landfill, it will be piped over to the new cogen powerplant where the gas will be burned for electricity, which will be used by the municipality. So far this has nothing to do with our greenhouse, but as denoir said converting thermal energy to electrical is very inefficient. Instead of burning natural gas to heat our greenhouse, we will use the 'waste' heat from the cogen powerplant, saving money and fossil fuels. So a byproduct of our landfills will create electricity and save us money, and reduce our dependancy on natural resources.

Joint ammo and mag project (jam)

Don't forget E&S Marines jumping out of BAS USMC helos -
In regular BIS weapons, even iron sights have slightly more zoom than normal view. I guess to simulate focusing more on the target.

In Chechnya, the rebels are using anything they can get their hands on, which happens to be mostly Russian, so it must be difficult to tell friend from foe when they both wear mismatched camo and carry AK74's. Russians seem to pick a camo pattern and make a huge variety of colour variations for it. The most modern standard pattern seems to be the "flora" pattern and can be found in many different shades and combos of green and brown: from http://www.tridentmilitary.com/Russian.camouflage.htm Another common pattern is VSR which is smaller cells in a more vertical arrangement. The classic spetsnaz camo pattern that I recognize is tigerstripe: and also the older 'KLMK' summer pattern which the Spetsnaz in OFP already have: http://pvtpyle.com/Russian/KLMK%20Sniper%20OS.jpg

For weapon config values, what happened to DragoFire? (I think that was his forum name). He was putting together a full set of values for all vehicle weapons so that any new vehicle could be made based on those config values and automatically be in balance with other addons. There should be a thread somewhere in the discussion forum, and I'd like to see addonmakers step behind that initiative to keep it alive, and also work in small arms.

Just saw that gunship (part of beta testing group) has posted some news and more screenshots of our marines at his website http://www.ofp.at it's about 8 items down the list.

Probably better to keep the secret until a little later so I can feel more important for possessing confidential information.

I think Sh@dow's game resolution and screen capture software is combining to make squashed pictures. It's modeled exactly to a pretty square photo of an A3 or A4 rifle. Here's a shot I took during beta testing tonight. I'm not happy with the leaf sight, I'll fix the model and textures a bit so it fits the rest of the model, and I'm going to make a more round barrel.
