  1. As far as I'm aware, you cannot integrate a2free without manually putting the shortcut into your modline. However; you might be able to take your Dta and Addons folders and either copy them or symlink/junction them into your TOH directory, then activate Arma2 Free as an expansion through the ingame menu. Thing is, I'm not sure if A2Free is equipped to show up automatically even that way. I THINK it will.
  2. Well saying it doesn't represent a Huey is like saying a fake Rolex doesn't represent a Rolex. There are some differences; the window layout around the cockpit seems to have microscopically different aspect ratios, there are extra stabilizers, the tail rotor is on the opposite side, and the engine has sloped rather than straight intakes. I think this can all be considered nitpicking as those things can ALL easily differ between variants; this is just a hypothetical variant of a Huey as far as I'm concerned. EDIT: SORRY! I got off topic with that. Uhh.. there is a set of taxi missions out there actually, it's integrated into the campaign so that funds directly go into your campaign account. I think it was released as an addon rather than a mission; check armaholic if you're interested. There, something slightly relevant, even if I was too lazy to pull a link ;)

    Lost Rearmed activation

if you don't have -mod= personally written into your desktop shortcut, it's probably not something that's relevant to your situation. Anyway, if you're using the Steam versions, launch Steam as Administrator and then run Arma 2, and then Arma 2: OA once each from within Steam. Then do the same for TOH. If you're not using the Steam versions, launch each of those programs in turn "as Administrator". With any luck this should automatically fix your problem. Otherwise you may need to check the integrity of your installations and make sure nothing was corrupted by a patch or something like that. I personally use Steam and had to go back into Steam as admin to relaunch TOH after patching; otherwise I got missing dependency errors all over the place. After doing this once, my normal desktop shortcuts resumed functioning normally.
  4. Hi: I used to have my setup the same way. I had directory junctions (same effect as copying really) for AddOns and Dta from arma2 in my arma2 oa folder. In one of the recent Arma2 patches, this has become unnecessary (presuming you have legal copies of all the games). Operation Arrowhead can find your Arma2 installation and files through the registry the same way TOH does. So remove these copies, remove -mod= from your shortcut, and enable the games as Expansions through the ingame menu (you can go back to -mod lines later once things are working). This should help; the only other thing I fear is that your Day Z and/or Lingor installations went directly into your arma2/AddOns or a2oa/expansion/addons folder. This might mean the files get loaded regardless of what you do; take a look in those places for any .pbo that did not come directly from Bohemia Interactive, and get rid of it.
  5. I have been trying to get this to work, and have only had luck thus far in one way: In the init of the groupleader of the team to be inserted, put {_x moveInCargo heli; _x assignAsCargo heli} forEach units group this; Now, put the very first waypoint you give this squad down where you want them to be inserted. Make this a "MOVE" waypoint. Do NOT synchronize this waypoint to anything. Finally, give your helicopter (in the above example named "heli") a "SCRIPTED" - "FAST-ROPE" waypoint next to the squad's "MOVE" waypoint. Leave them unsynchronized. In this waypoint's "On Activation" box, put: {unassignVehicle _x} forEach units group squad1; (Where "squad1" is the name of your group leader, or alternately put "squad1 = group this" in the init of the group leader and simply use {unassignVehicle _x} forEach units squad1;) Finally, I'm not sure why this works exactly, and I'm not sure that it does work entirely. The last mission I played had three separate squads in the helicopter... I unassigned all of them from the vehicle, but they didn't all seem to finish unloading before my FAST-ROPE waypoint ended and I was given a new destination. I didn't get the "ROPERS OUT" message, so I'm not sure. Maybe you should in fact synchronize some waypoints; I believe I tried this without success but I may be mistaken as to the exact process I tried.

    Track IR is it supported

You may need to loa dyour TrackIR profiler software, go into the options and select Update Software and Games (or something along those lines). This will update the profiler software to the latest version, and enable in-game support for any supported games you have installed. I'm guessing if you absolutely can't get it to work in TOH, it is because this has not been configured.
  7. Ok ok... :D I guess I've been taking my ideas about what's possible from crazy places like Domination missions, where armor can be slingloaded by chinooks ;p Then again, at the very least there is this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/67/CH54B_and_M551_Sheridan.jpg/770px-CH54B_and_M551_Sheridan.jpg
  8. I want to see a helicopter strong enough to slingload an Abrams. I tried to hook one up this morning with blakeace's mod, and as soon as the connection was complete it basically caused a strange feedback loop which, long story short, drags my chopper straight to the ground - best case scenario. That would be my first choice of a new DLC - something to flesh out the ArmA 2 integration a bit more fully to allow scenarios like that. Fire fighting would be great also, I suppose either one is fine as far as I'm concerned. Crop dusting seems like it'd be pretty cool too, and could go along with that, so consider your suggestion seconded in that regard. Lastly, the user community could really make a LOT of these things as it is right now. Many of them won't even require addons that don't already exist, if any at all. The problem is there's not that big a userbase for TOH as of yet. As the Arma 2 community figures out that this is really Arma 2.5, that might hopefully change.
  9. I'm not really getting this. I have a slightly faster processor and a slightly faster video card, and if my average framerate on mostly-Very High settings gets above the 30-50 range I'd consider it a miracle. Of course, I have my viewdist. at ~6400. "Mostly High" settings at "3km" should be a lot faster, but if you have less of a system you'll start bottlenecking sooner. Arma is one game that makes it very difficult to blame solely a GPU or CPU. No matter what your system is, you will find the limits of AT LEAST one of those two components, and in doing so you will MOST LIKELY bottleneck the other as well.
  10. Here: http://cdn.withsix.com/software/su/su-setup.exe is a link to the old Six Updater, which still has CBA_TOH et al in its Mods browser. It might take you a little while to come to grips with how it actually works - not exactly user friendly, but then again the new version doesn't even offer the same features AFAIK - but you can install CBA_TOH directly from here. When I did, it automatically even put it into my TOH folder. By default it may not want to let you install it since it's not an Arma2 mod, but right click-> add to dynamic preset, and you should then be able to get it to install by right clicking it from the menu on the left -> updater ->install/update mods. Here's a link to mirrors of the six updater, not sure why the top link is not the most recent, or the version numbers diverge pretty rapidly: http://dev-heaven.net/projects/six-arma-updater/files EDIT: It seems you can just find the mod @CBA_TOH under the Mods tab, right click it and add it to your dynamic preset, then in the left-hand menu select Take-On H Vanilla. I think this by itself will tell the program you want to deal with TOH mods, and you can now right click @CBA_TOH under your Dynamic Preset (again in the left-hand menu) and select Updater Actions->Install/Update mod
  11. Haha, it is convenient to do it that way, just junction any @mod folder you want to load with toh into the toh folder; that way you can select any and all expansions you want from within the game and leave your game launch shortcut with no parameters at all. Somewhat of a pain, yes, but not hard once you get into a rhythm. Open up "cmd" (or your terminal of choice), change directory to your tkoh folder and type: mklink /j "@CBA" "C:\full\path\to\your\@CBA" mklink /j "@CBA_A2" "C:\full\path\to\your\@CBA_A2" mklink /j "@CBA_OA" "C:\full\path\to\your\@CBA_OA" etc. Strip your game startup shortcut of all -mod parameters. If you're using the beta, make a shortcut to the beta .exe, and set it to "Start in:" your main tkoh folder. Now launch the game, go to expansions, and you should be able to enable everything here: Arma 2 OA Common, Arma 2, Expansion, Hinds, Noisecontrollers, Tkoh, CBA, etc... If all the arma 2 options are not available, take a look at some of the more recent posts on getting Rearmed to install successfully. First make sure to validate your installation if you're using Steam. Then, make sure you run Arma 2 and also Arma 2 OA at least once by themselves, probably best to run them as administrator. Finally, if you're using steam to launch the game - you don't have to; you can just use a normal shortcut, but you certainly are also welcome to do it this way - but launch Steam as administrator. That should clear up any issues anybody is having with anything. If you are using anything with CBA or dependant on CBA, you will need also to get @CBA_TOH in your tkoh folder. I got it with Six Updater; not sure if it can be found elsewhere.
  12. Just wanted to post an update, because this thread had me a bit confused until I did things for myself. If you download the Six Updater (NOT playWithSIX, afaik), you can then go in to Mods, find CBA (CBA_A2, CBA_OA, and CBA_TOH), add it to a dynamic preset, and tell the updater to install/update the mod. These versions are all up-to-date and functional with the latest official release 1.06 w/Rearmed. I'm running these alongside JSRS1.4 soundmod and JTD fireandsmoke, and everything appears to be functional with no error messages at all. For the record, I am not using a modline. Instead i have created directory junctions in the tkoh folder for all the arma2 mods to be loaded, and enabled all expansions from within the game itself.
  13. I haven't experienced this effect at all. Is this a campaign you started from scratch after installing the patch, or a savegame from before the update? I have been using a previous save from 1.05.
  14. Huh, I haven't encountered this problem, but I did have a problem where after I installed the latest patch, I went into the career and started inspecting my chopper for damage; when I looked at one of the parts (Fuel tank, I believe) that needed "work", the game simply froze. EDIT: no, not exactly big news for a game on this engine to crash a mortal PC, but for the record it's the only crash I can recall from the product on this system, at least ;) But anyway, I wasn't able to reproduce it - when I reloaded the game, the damage to be repaired was actually slightly different, but I didn't have any troubles.
  15. IIRC, when I did the installation, the patch install got to around 100%, at which point it stayed there without exiting and launched the Rearmed installer in a separate window. Once Rearmed finished installing, I was given the option to launch - which I took - at which point the game began loading itself. The Patch installer actually finished and let me Exit while TOH was actually loading, and not before. It sounds to me like your installer never successfully launched the Rearmed installation - there should be two separate installers, and you're not really done until the second one finishes; the first one won't exit until then. Might be something to try as far as using admin privileges to install the downloaded patch, IDK. Could be something corrupt somewhere? The registry holds your key authentication information, so likely you would not have been able to play those. Arma 2 is usually quite finnicky about version checking. However, the intricacies of these programs' initializations and load orders are hardly trivial and can make you scratch your head for days  And anyway, I'm no expert on the subject - I can't really tell you here for sure but a clean reinstall running steam as administrator ought to take care of it.
  16. Just a little update for anyone still fretting over this on a Steam installation... I had things running using the latest beta patch from the TOH Website, but since Rearmed files were not included, i had some pretty nasty multiple inheritances going on or something; i had the arma 2 interface and the toh interfaces superimposed upon one another in a screwy fashion, but MOST things were working okay. Then I checked on the game hub in Steam, and someone finally posted that they'd installed the regular patch onto their Steam version without issues. I did the same, and it has been working flawlessly ever since ;) I don't recommend trying to run it through Steam again after this, at least until after Steam gets a chance to release the patch too, because it's hard to say if it might detect some files as corrupt or something. Still, it probably wouldn't even make much difference. Anyway, good luck!
  17. Glad to help, sorry my post was full of misunderstandings. You said collective, and I named pretty much every axis EXCEPT that one ;)
  18. I guess it's late to dig this thread up but I had the exact same problem on that Mission. I actually restarted it 4 times to try and avoid it, and every single time I have to max the collective towards the end of the formation-flying part, and within a few moments at that point I get damage to the point of a 'clunky' sound from the engine/transmission and the violent shaking. At one point I actually thought it was scripted, and I'm still not entirely convinced the reason the other chopper goes down isn't just because he's flying violently fast. ;)
  19. I believe you should be able to go into the section of the Controls options menu where you can manually assign controls. Then find where it says "cyclic up/down" or "nose up/down" (or maybe "pitch up/down"), sorry I don't remember the terminology used here. One will likely have the name of one of your joystick axes with a +, and the other with a - (ie Sidewinder Precision 2 Z Axis + / Sidewinder Precision 2 Z Axis -). It may not look or sound exactly like that but effectively these should be the settings. Simply select these controls for reassignment, move the axis in the opposite direction of what is currently bound, and then delete the original binding. Thus your + will now be - and vice versa. That should be all that's required; it worked that way on my saitek x52.
  20. There's one included with the game, but it has the sensitivity values maxed, which was for me utterly unplayable until I lowered them considerably. Also I'm not sure what it does with all the button mappings, but I hav changed a couple myself. Unless you mean a profile created through Saitek's profiler software, in which case you're way beyond me ;p
  21. Hi, I am using the Steam versions of A2, Operation Arrowhead, and TOH (All three purchased separately). I installed the latest beta patch from the TOH website, which does not appear to be the same as the RC3 patch that went out prior to the official release. I did this because Steam has still not updated the game to 1.06. When I launched the beta, my Arma 2 / Operation Arrowhead installations were NOT available. First, I tried going to the shortcut, removing the -mod line, etc, and enabling "beta "in the expansions menu in-game. This still did not cause Arma 2 to show up in the list of available expansions. Next, I put the modline back, and also specified the paths to my arma 2 and operation arrowhead installations. Now, when I try to launch TOH, i get the same error: "No entry'config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow" Arma 2 and Op:arrowhead should already be current, as I run them through Steam all the time. Not to mention that as a Steam user I am discouraged if not outright prohibited from manually patching the game. EDIT: SORRY! I got this working now. It was just a problem with my ability to follow directions. I had the order of my modline shortcut incorrect. You must specify -mod="path-to-arma";Beta, in that order; if you put Beta first the game will not know what to do with A2 assets.
  22. :! Thanks a lot, man. I guess I got so caught up with being indignant I didn't take the time to open my eyes and look around for a minute. Whoops :j: I guess now most of my complaints are forced to rest with Steam itself, since I presume they're the ones dragging their behinds here ;p

    Thanks for the Patch guys

TOH should indeed see it, as long as you launch it without any startup parameters (Such as -mod=, etc). Otherwise you'll need to include the paths to your arma2 installations in the -mod line. As for when we're getting the patch through Steam, that is a very good question. I don't recall if I've seen this before, but from what I understand it can just take a few business days for Steam to get their act together. EDIT: Didn't realize there's still a beta patch download link from the website. I recommend installing that if you want Rearmed but don't want to wait for the official Steam update. Of course it's technically beta so take it for what it's worth. But it should match pretty much the released version afaik.
  24. No; here... I mean, I came to this forum to try and get a copy of the beta patch so I could install it over my Steam version, but the download links have been removed and the thread itself has been closed. Thus, I can't post in it asking for a reversion. The only choice is to wait for the Steam patch I suppose. I actually tried to download the old version of Six Updater (the new one seems extremely limited in functionality?) and use it to download the patch but apparently I missed some files or something because I couldn't get it to run even making a shortcut for the beta .exe to run in the normal folder, etc. There was no actual 'Rearmed' folder, only "beta_toh", which honestly doesn't even match any of the instructions I found online verbatim. But hey no big deal; just wanted to vent my concerns in the hopes that somebody might expedite the Steam process if everything possible isn't already being done.
  25. Come to think of it, I don't have that DLC available either. And to get the Hinds DLC to work, I had to manually go in and run an executable in its installer directory with administrator privileges. Hopefully they get things sorted out soon. Especially in regards to that latest patch; they took down all the links to the beta downloads and closed the forum threads, so right now in effect Steam users are SOL.
