And of course don't let us forget Mr Peter Frampton, more precisely "Frampton Comes Alive"... And if someone's interested: bt.etree.org is a good resource for bootlegs of fan-taping-friendly bands. For example Pearl Jam: http://bt.etree.org/?search=&cat=137&incldead=1 Some torrents are without seeders, so if you are interested in an inacitve one, just leave a note, perhaps I have the torrent and can put it up again.

"Hybrid children", eh? I'm burning the FLAC-version onto CD right now. Plus my brand-new HP PSC2610 whichfunctions100%overethernetwithCUPS creates the covers. Speaking of Bob Dylan... Does anybody remember the "live at budokan" albums? Last year I bought "Cheap Trick at Budokan" and "Bob Dylan at Budokan". Imo some excellent vinyls...

    Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning

Downloaded it yesterday. My torrent is up and running, if you want to download it pretty fast. And stay tuned for this German fan production: Tydirium -- The True Story http://www.tydirium.tv/index.php What comes next? Perhaps an Operation Flashpoint fan film? Who's Gastovski? <-- bananaman's still ruling the smilies

Discovered them some time ago, but today I read about them in the newspaper. They give a concert here in Hannover together with The Punkles. I even got the FLAC-Versions of their songs (now offline). Must have been my first downloads via bittorrent (btdownloadcurses.py), according to the entries in my GTKtalog the files date back to June 2004... "Hey Dude" is my favourite: Intro... beer can gets opened... "Hey Dude,..."

    Microsoft Windows Vista

Exactly. PC games business stagnates, from a gameplay point of view. At least there's Grumpy Gamer: http://grumpygamer.com/ http://grumpygamer.com/7973586 Now that's what I call good gaming stuff. Sadly such games are a nearly extinct species, 'cause fps and rts sell better... Same goes to simulations. Microprose anyone?

Now listening to... a band I read about some days ago: http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/05/10/02/2056210.shtml?tid=141&tid=17 I even consider buying that album. First (and afaik only new CD) this year: Green Day "American Idiot". I don't like the current music "market", therefore I don't buy or otherwise obtain modern music, with named exception. But I bought many older records to complete some private collections (Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Supertramp, Status Quo). In August I discovered Metallica "Metallica" (Black Album) as LP... Other music listened to this year: "Die Ärzte" bootlegs -- http://www.kill-them-all.de/ Pearl Jam or Hornsby, live recordings -- http://bt.etree.org/ During the last weeks I used to listen to internet radio streams (using xmms* and/or streamripper**): EggRadio -- http://www.eggradio.com/ All Southern Rock -- http://allsouthernrock.com/ SKY.fm All Hit 70s -- http://www.sky.fm/channel/playlist/hit70s SKY.fm Best of the 80s -- http://www.sky.fm/channel/playlist/the80s * http://www.xmms.org/ ** http://gstreamripper.sourceforge.net/ <-- bananaman still rules

Was a cloudy day this morning. My picture of the eclipse over Hannover, camera zoomed at the sun... (Canon Ixus V2; this is actually only a part of the picture. The rest is... well... grey.) <-- Bananaman rules!

    Microsoft Windows Vista

It is very hard to buy computers/notebooks without this crap. Microsoft tax, you see... I'm still looking for a decent subnotebook without any OS, just like the ASUS I bought some years ago...

This is discussed here: http://www.opengl.org/discuss....=000001 In barthold's reply one will find some explanations and following presentation: http://download.microsoft.com/downloa....C05.ppt Smart move, just hide OpenGL behind some layers to make access difficult and to slow it down.

    Build your own sentry gun

Perhaps they should try a VIA Mini-ITX-Board plus a decent OS. With proper C/C++ coding that ought to be enough for image processing... And no, my Mini-ITX music box is not finished yet. You know, much to do... Although I got a case from an old french amplifier I am still thinking about the user interface. Most likely I will not use the 20x4 lcd and buy a small touchscreen instead. Btw does anyone now if there's a java binding for SVGAlib? <- Bananaman rules!

    The German election

You know, he's the Medienkanzler. Chancellor of the media. A few years ago he never would have shown such a lapse. But it's getting worse. Now they want to change the rules of the Bundestag, trying to split CDU/CSU -- just to stay in power. What's next, Dresden a kind of german Florida? http://www.n-tv.de/582641.html Fun to see how votes not given to the BlackRedYellowGreen block can cause such a confusion. I still see it as a chance: Perhaps they build a Große Koalition CDU+SPD after pushing Merkel and Schröder aside...

    The German election

http://www.heute.de/ZDFmediathek/inhalt/12/0,4070,2376652-5,00.html Disgusting behaviour of Schröder. Perhaps he was drunk already? No, serious, regarding the constructed victory of Schröder, they forget one thing: Partei != Fraktion. The CDU/CSU is a Fraktionsgemeinschaft, an therefore they represent the biggest Fraktion. Poor move to stay in command... http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraktionsgemeinschaft That will be Interesting Times until they have put together a government. Hm, interesting times... guess someone cursed...

    The German election

Back then it was a different setup. The system of the Wimarer Republik had for more bugs which could be exploited. But what do you think, would it be good to let Schily/Beckstein mess around with our basic civil rights? Wouldn't it be better to have at least some who remember what Schily --lawyer of RAF terrorists in the 80s-- has apparently forgotten? That would be the guys you've called "green fanatics" and "frustrated leftists". --- Just to add... 50 votes are declared nil and void because of wrong voting papers http://www.n-tv.de/581006.html Same applies for Dortmund, some of the approx. 90,000 mail voters have received wrong papers: http://www.tagesschau.de/aktuell....00.html And because a NPD politician passed away brain-dead (no joke, apoplexia), a part of Dresden will vote fourteen days later.

    The German election

Oh, our democratic system has definitely lost with Schröder exploiting the Grundgesetz and Köhler accepting this move. But it is a chance for Germany to break with the lame static warefare between entrenched black/yellow and red/green forces. At least it is a small victory for civil rights as the voice of reason (Grüne, Linke) has gained some more weight.
  21. der bastler

    The German election

Linke all the way. The whole country is shifting to the right (a nod towards Schily/Beckstein), therefore to remain centered a small step to the left is necessary. Now listening to: All Southern Rock -- ZZ Top -- Piece (timeshifted due to stream ripping)

    The German election

Funny, to call a "may be" a fact. Anyway Germany participated in that war. THAT is a fact. Other chancellors had got the balls to refuse any help. I just remind you of Brandt stopping weapon transports crossing our country during the Jom Kippur war 1973 or Kohl denying bombers to start from Germany towards Tripolis in 1986.

    The German election

CDU/CSU/FDP -- no, done that, nothing new. SPD/Grüne -- no, done that, weren't better than subject #1. Both blocks want to start recording telecommunication connections, want to implement biometric IDs and generally mess around with our Grundgesetz, perverting basic rights. Plus they favour, or do nothing against, software patents. die PARTEI -- funny, but no. APPD -- hmm, free beer, but... no. Tierschutzpartei, PBC, Büso and the like -- not capable to rule a country. NPD and the like -- no, NEVER! not voting -- no, because then one can't complain at all. Looks like former conservative/centre bastler is heading into a brand new direction. Me likes that.
