Okay, I came in wicked high and kept my finger on the "Up" key during the cutscene. When I got control back, my altitude was over 1200 (OFP units) and my speed was over 600! Nothing to crash into up there but the moon! Now... moving on. Am I to understand that I'm supposed to take out 3+ armored vehicles using nothing but those lousy rockets, which have to be fired in Manual Mode? Ha! Â Fat chance. Â Anybody have any useful advice on winning this little skirmish? Â

I've not played that mission myself since the patch but I've read in another post that you can avoid crashing if you come in high. Don't know but it might be worth a shot.<span id='postcolor'> Man, this is a frustrating one, and a disappointing glitch in an otherwise awesome campaign. I have tried all sorts of different approaches (high, autohover, low, etc.) and it still seems like after the cutscene, the helicopter is inverted and 10 feet off the ground!! Â I'll try some of the suggestions outlined here. Â I especialy like John's advice: "you can avoid crashing if you come in high". Â Maybe that's my problem. I've been flying sober! Â

This is a followup to my previous post about how to install the 1.42 update. After installing 1.42, I tried re-installing the Gold Upgrade (Red Hammer). This worked fine, but when I ran FlashPoint afterwards, it said I was back to version 1.3 again! So, I tried to run the 1.42 patch again. This time, I encountered the problem again. (By the way, if you have a backup copy of your FP files, you can copy it over your active files to get rid of the error. It's faster than re-installing again.) Here is the error message I get after starting the game and encountering the "black box": An Operation FlashPoint dialog box displays the following message: "No entry 'resource.bin::RscDisplayMain::FP1.size'." If this means anything to anyone, maybe they can find a way to fix it. In the meanwhile, I would be weary of installing the v1.42 patch if you are running the Gold Upgrade. -Dave-

I am running WinME and experienced the same problem when upgrading from v.1.4 to 1.42. (i.e., errors occur during the upgrade afterwhich the game will not start.) Â I found a solution that worked for me, so hopefully it will work for others. Note: To be safe, make a backup copy of your FP files before doing this. 1. Insert original FlashPoint CD and select UNINSTALL. 2. After Uninstall is complete, run the INSTALL program again to restore the base version. 3. Run the appropriate patch files to get back up to version 1.3. 4. DO NOT run the 1.4 upgrade patch. Instead, run the v1.42 upgrade. It should install fine now. (At least it did for me.) Good luck.
