I've been playing OFP on line for some time without any problems, however since upgrading to 1.75 resistance I cannot connect to any MP game. I get as far as connecting and can see some conversation then get kicked back to the game lobby with the message session lost. With some friends I reconnected with 1.46 and could connect and play ok with no problems but as soon as I revert back to 1.75 i get session lost. Before on 1.46 session lost meant the server had crashed, this is not the case as everyone else can play quite happily. I run a duron 800 system with geforece 2 32mb card 256 mb memory and 60gig hd at 7200rpm, i play with a 56k modem (ambient ham drivers I think) i have the latest drivers for everything and do not run a virus check or firewall. anyone help please?? I've searched the forum and avon ladys FAQ but can't find a similar problem but speaking to people on line I know others have experienced it. cheers

I have no unofficial addons and should have more than enough memory and disc space as the only game I'm running is OFP. 256ram should be enough although i appreciate my processor (duron 800) isn't fantastic these days it runs the game ok.

No, no forewalls or anything else. I've checked avon ladys page on firewalls, although it mentions session lost I cant actually see a cure or fix for it.

thanks for that but I use direct play the same as everyone else, I also double and triple checked that I was using the correct port (the same one as everyone else). But i will check that page at avon ladys site. Any other suggestions??

I've just joined a new squad and have changed my name within OFP, I have deleted my old identity and removed the appropriate folders from the users file. However, when I start OFP it seems to find my old identity and defaults to it even though I've deleted it from everywhere. I can't start an online game with my new identity. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I take it no one knows the answer then?

I've been away from the multiplayer scene for about a month, I use the ASE and the codemasters chat page but it seems to me that very few people are playing this game online anymore. Most of the servers on ASE are empty and the chat page doesn't seem to work properly. Have I missed something? Where is everybody?

I'm with NTL WORLD and I usually play with pings of around 200 even though my connection speed ranges from 36-45bps

The forums been broken for almost two weeks, no one seems to be doing anything about it, and this thread is about to get closed by placebo. Its a shame because its a good community which has helped me many times and if this goes on any longer it will just fade away.

Ultimately my computer was runnign like a pile of junk. I've just completed a reformat and clean install which was a major headache. I loaded the latest drivers for my geforce card, the latest via4in1 patch and directx 8 now my computer has never rub so good. I think the problems were caused by all the other games i installed and uninstalled over the period of 13 - 14 months. Now its the best its ever been, I know its a sledge hammer to crack a walnut but i'm glad i did it.

Well I finaly did a format and fresh install of windows ME after an install over the top didn't work. I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone in a hurry it took an age to find all the drivers and you forget all those usefull little programs like WINZIP etc. I'm back up and running now and the difference in performance is fantastic. OFP runs better than ever and other games like Harry Potter (my daughters) finally work My only problem is that I copied the contacts in my address book to floppy but can't place them back into my address book, anyone have any clues? On a seperate note my wife has a website which is loaded onto the web and working correctly but it seems the index/home page is corrupted, my wife being a bit of a dipstick hasn't got a backup copy because she never took my advice seriously and because of the corruption can't get into it to edit it. HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THE SITE BACK TO MY HARD DRIVE??? to allow us to edit it off line and save it eventually to CD ROM Any help on this would be appreciated Cheers for all the advice given

My computer has been by my side for over 13 months now with programs added, removed, reinstalled, crashes and complete cock ups on my behalf. The consequences are things no longer work, those that work don't work very well and it seems to be slow and sluggish. I can no longer uninstall any program using the uninstall features of the operating system or the program I want to uninstall. Some games now refuse to work, OFP STILL works thank god. I think its now time to reformatt the HD (40gb) and start the lengthy process of reinstalling averything. I run windows ME for my sins and the processor is a 800 Duron. I have 256MB PC 133 memory and I have NO money whatsoever to pay for upgrades etc. Can someone point me in the direction of simple instructions for a complete reformatt/install or provide them? These forums are a disgrace to the game, if they don't work properly the forum will die and so will support for the game. I know I will upset placebo by starting a new thread on this now VERY BORING subject, but for god sake it can't be that difficult to fix ( excluding me from that last statement because I'm a complete spam when it comes to PC's) C'mon BIS......................Please

Whilst my other internet browsing is working fine, this site isn't at best I can only download about half a page and that takes several minutes. Is anyone else experiencing this or a similar problem tonight. It will probably take about 15 mins to return and check for an answer

Hmmm a new day and I'm still esxperiencing problems with this forum, If other websites didn't work properly I'd blame my lousy computer. Â

Cheers mate but I defragg every fortnight, I delete crap temp files and stuff like that at the end of every day, Mt HD is 80% free, and I CAN'T uninstall any programs, nothing works except physically deleting the folders. But that doesn't delete the registry entries for those programs and I don't think thats the best or safest way to uninstall anything. I have the Boot up floppy and the WIN CD I think its just got to that stage where need to take things back to scratch again. Just need the idiots guide to how.
