@cool=azroul13 Yes (the proton version of Steam). Actually I had to cancel the update of Proton for 2 reasons: 1. It was an eternal loop, it consumed 50GB of my data (original Arma was less than 63GB). So what proton did was to uninstall all and install all again, no joke and everytime after the game didn't start. I needed to restart Steam and checking the integrity just re-download another 50GB!! 2. I cancelled but the game played normal! Some itens like the rifle of the RUS-POL? was missin because the PBO errors. (most likely not redirecting the proper file names) I will try to manually change the PBOs redirection to the proper filenames there. @Harzach Thanks!! very useful! Actually I had 50% performance improvement with Linux, but the link you shared explained a lot. But how can I play Western Sahara for example !? I have been playing Arma 3 for a few months, as well I'm a programmer, and I know very well the OS Linux & Windows API. In Windows I suffered from the old eternal Virtual Page getting slow, so I could never play Arma 3 because of that, 1. Changed to Linux instead (Debian 11.6), -- the performance on Linux is going astonishingly well, because of how the kernel handles things, and now I am able to play it much better (I mean 75% of speed/performance compared to Windows) with minor random crashes. 2. The *problem* is, 1st Steam did not recognize some of my DLC that I purchased (and I purchased all of them with exception of 2 content creators). - I did not notice at first, but when I opened the designated ***DLC folder*** I saw that Steam actually deleted those DLC files! - and I have a backup of arma 3 (Windows version), which I was able to check. #so verify integrity is not an option here since Steam will constantly delete those (files) DLC's 3. To fix some other issues I installed "Arma 3 Unix Launcher", and when I checked in the "Mods" tab, it appeared "tanks" and "tacops" appeared as a custom mod. # I could activate those without problems - I rapidly noticed that the DLC expansions in Linux is all *lowercase* - so I changed some DLC names to lowercase which made it work like "AoW" (Art of War) to "aow" - HOWEVER: "Contact" or "contact" is not working for the DLC Contact. - HOWEVER: Old Man works while is not recognized in the Options > Expansions #when I start the Arma 3 launcher > I am getting this error "bin/config.bin/CfgVehicles/Church_Small_F/DestructionEffects/Smoke1/: Cannot find base class 'Smoke 1'" #after the logo it presents: > this error "No entry bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/House_Small_F/DestructionEffects/Smoke1.simulation' > Notice the difference between `bin\config` and `bin/config` above. So all DLC works with the exception of Western Sahara and Contact! If I go to options and select Options > Expansion #and enable let's say determined expansions it will load normally, but I'll not have the Unix Arma 3 Launcher options, which I need! Also I'm TESTING, I don't think Options > Expansion solves the issue (but let's see) and since I'm new to Arma 3, what's Enoch, is it the "Old Man" I don't work for Bohemian please devs, give the proper configuration for the Linux version, I believe it attempts to load Windows files of some sort.
