Why does it take sometimes 15-20 refreshes of the official servers list, before a particular server - like the Warlords 01e server - to show up on the list? Even when the server hardly has anyone in it? Sometimes when I refresh the list, the browser pulls up 40-50 servers, then other times it pulls up 100+ servers. Makes it very difficult to join servers that I prefer to play in, when the browser refuses to pull up those servers. Is there anything I can do to help make that process move along more smoothly?

So, I have an internal 500GB SSD and an external 500GB SSD. I didn't realize that while vanilla out-of-the-box ARMA 3 only uses <50 GB, the mod packs will grow the total storage space usage by the hundreds of GBs. I have been told that to put ARMA 3 on an external drive - even a SSD drive - would slow down the play of the game. But is there a way to manage the mod pack files by putting THEM on the external drive, and having ARMA 3 on the internal and playing them from there? I have a basic "main" mod pack that is huge in itself, then 4-5 other mods packs for 4-5 other various operation styles (Sci-Fi, Zombie, IFA, etc.) that may pertain only to op missions played about once a week or sometimes every 2-3 weeks. Seems that those other, lesser-played mod packs could be placed on the external SSD drive, and utilized from there, but really if THEY can go, then ALL could conceivably go. Otherwise, there's the possible manual work-around of just relocating the lesser-used mod packs to the external drive when they NOT required to play operations, then bring them back to the internal when they are scheduled. Just trying to figure out a way to utilize external storage space that I have plenty of available, without having to break down and buy a larger internal storage drive. Thanks for any help! I still have right at 200GB of free storage space left on my internal, but it seems like that could fill up quickly with new mods coming out all the time.....

Hello, I am a fairly new player of Arma 3, and I found out from somewhere - maybe here - about the free vanilla Arma 3 multiplayer servers shown on this page: https://arma3.com/servers I found several Warlords servers that were active - they were 44-player servers with two opposing factions that had slots for 22 players each. There was always at least one of those servers that were fairly full - there was a day or two where I tried to join, but they were full and I had to leave and try again later. I've played over 350 total hours on those Warlords servers i less than 2 months. Now, I go to the above page, and those Warlords servers are no longer showing for me. There are smaller servers - 16 and 32 player servers, and they are off and on active. My question is - what happened to the earlier servers? Have they been discontinued? I would like to continue playing on them, but they no longer show up on the above page? Is there another source that they would show up on? Thanks for any help.

Working with mods from an external SSD
Lacene replied to Lacene's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Oh I see. I thought you meant they were mods created by Steam, and not mods created by others, but still put in Steam for subscribing. I do believe that all the mods I have came from Steam..... -
Working with mods from an external SSD

How do I know to tell if they are steam mods or not? Yes - I am a noob at this. I just joined the TSB group, and they are mods that they require. Is there some way to determine this? Thanks for the quick response! -
I was just coming here to post a similar thread. Questions I would like to add: 1) Are there public servers for free joining? In other words, you don't have to officially join a group in order to play on their dedicated servers, but individuals can join pre-established pub servers - regardless of group alliance - and play? 2) I'm sure of the answer to (1) is "yes" that there will be some explanations of what mods are required, or not accepted? Watching videos on Youtube and Twitch of some Zeus folks who do a lot of missions, I've seen several public operations over time that indicate there are options for folks to join up without need to special permissions or "key" codes that allow them in. They don't need to be friends of the people who set up the missions/servers. If these are a thing, where can I find them? Any help would be appreciated. I've about played all of the single-player missions that came with the game, and would like to try my hand at the multiplayer format, in a loose set-up beyond joining a actual group/alliance/clan/guild at this time......

Hello guys. I want to apologize up front for my very noobish question - just got ARMA 3 and trying to learn how to be somewhat competent with it. Right now, I'm just trying to go into Editor on Altis, create a player, create some targeting situations, and practice shooting at the targets with guns and grenades. Just to get more familiar with the commands. I've been able to set up all of that stuff, and have created ammo and gun boxes and know how to set up cargo with uniforms, etc. But the players I spawn have no backpacks - only vests. And I cannot find in the editor menu ANY backpacks to spawn. SO I'm limited in how much ammo & grenades I can carry. Plus I also want to practice operating a UAV, which will then help me operate a helicopter in the future. So just wondering - where do I find backpacks to choose from from the editor menu?? Thanks for your help! Also, I did do a search and found some references to ARMA 3 wiki that had some codes such as: this addbackpackcargo ["B_AssaultPack_khk",3]; this addbackpackcargo ["B_AssaultPack_khk_holder",3]; this addbackpackcargo ["B_AssaultPack_dgtl",3]; But I haven't gotten far enough to understand what this is, and the info was kinda old (around 2013), so I doubt that it's still valid....

I am pretty totally noobed up at this point, lol. I may be totally doing this wrong, but I just go into the Eden Editor, and spawn a unit player from blufor, and usually I select grenadier. He doesn't have a backpack - just a vest. Then I go through the menu items on the right side, that has the blufor, opfor, csat, etc., and also items. But I could not find any backpacks there. But the above advice helped me with what I was looking for. Incidentally, I was able to go into the virtual arsenal your image shows above, and have fitted out two full gear packages and saved them, but have not learned yet how to input them into the editor as a player, if that is even possible. Again, all I was looking to do at this point, was create a player unit to use to learn how to fire some weapons, operate the UAV, and other very basic actions, outside of the campaigns and challenges.....
