Have the same problem.
The game randomly freezes when playing(mp). It can be from a few seconds to permanent(computer restart), but if I wait it will unfreeze and everything that happened during the freeze is played in x50 speed(sound and picture).
It's quite annoying and when it happens Arma refuses to be minimized and not be "on top" of the screen. So I can't even access task manager and shut it down that. Only waiting or restarting the computer helps.
I'm using a laptop with following specs.
ASUS ROG Strix GL702VM
I7-7700HQ
6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
17.3-inch 1,920 x 1,080 G-Sync IPS screen
8GB 2,133MHz DDR4 memory
128GB SATA Samsung CM871a SSD + 1TB SATA 7200rpm
All latest drivers installed, Geforce experience, etc. Reinstalled game and formated the harddrive ~3 months ago, the problem was there before and after.
I almost only play KOTH and KOTH1944. Starting via Arma3 launcher(original).
The problem persists with both versions of KOTH. 1944 versions require following mods though:
CUP - Terrains Core
IAF3 - Lite
GPU/CPU temp is 70-75 under load (Can play Witcher 3/Warhammer/etc for longer periods with higher temps without problems). Even used a laptop cooling pad but it didn't help.
This is a freaking annoying problem since the freezes always occurs at princely the wrong time(E.g just purchased a skytrain for the team, middle of a firefight, etc) and I can just forget about flying fighters. One little freeze and my expansive plane hits the dirt. I can't afford this any more
