Malden Civil War - 2013 "The First Move" A selfie taken by an unknown Malden Rebel at the site of the first engagement of the civil war. The seaside town of Le Port was one of the first cities to partake in the rioting and protest that led to the civil war. After two weeks of Martial Law under watch of the Special Government Troops ("Gendarmerie"), the Protesters caught wind of a convoy of military personnel traveling to Le Port to assist with keeping order. The People took this as a declaration of war, and as the convoy entered the city, it was ambushed by several men armed with small arms and an RPG. There were no survivors and several government soldiers were burned alive in a truck fire caused by an RPG round. This incident would result in 4 bloody years of Civil War for the small Island Nation and effect the political and economic climate of the region for decades to come. World War 3 (Modern Warfare) "HVI" Russian VDV and a member of Vladimir Makarov's inner circle named "Viktor" after capturing a High Value Individual from a neighborhood in Arcadia County, Virginia. "Viktor and a task force of Paratroopers were tasked with capturing targets involved with the U.S. Government in an attempt to destabilize the country's infrastructure. Shortly after, "Viktor" and a part of his task force would be killed while attempting to capture a target code named "Icepick." His body was later found by a squad of 75th Rangers. "Grishino Street Fights" CHDZK militants during a shootout with a fortified police station in Grishino held by CDF and Chernarus National Police. In December of 2013 during the height of the counter insurgency, a platoon of CHDZK moved in on the town of Grishino. The hope was to attack the local police station with an unexpected and overwhelming force followed by fortifying the town before the CDF could respond. This was the first large scale offensive since the Civil War in 2009 and the goal was to gain ground for a second larger offensive. Fortunately, a nearby garrison of CDF troops who had been on a training exercise arrived before the police station could fall. What followed was brutal street clashes that lasted for a week in where the CDF and CHDZK dug in to houses, alleys and basements. CHDZK militants finally retreated after supplies ran low and casualties became too high. "Besieged" A Chernarussian contract security guard moments before opening fire on CHDZK gunmen in an oil refinery plant near the Chernogorsk industrial district. In summer 2013 the CHDZK carried out a brutal attack on a government run oil refinery, killing nearly 100 employees (workers, administration and security personnel) and causing millions of dollars in damage. A total of 20 gunmen took part in the attack and were able to sneak into the lightly guarded facility by dressing as workers. The siege lasted 3 hours and was ended when all gunmen were killed following a shootout with Chernarussian S.W.A.T. This was the worst terrorist attack in the country's history and prompted a massive counter-insurgency campaign in the country's north during the later months of 2013. MALDEN CIVIL WAR - 2017 "White Armbands" A recovered cellphone image of two Malden Loyalist Militiamen posing with a recently executed rebel. In the last months of the civil war, the Government began organizing militias out of desperation as their territory and forces grew smaller and smaller. Generally, these militias were made up of teenagers and criminals who had a distaste for the rebel uprising and were often far more brutal in their methods compared to the Regular Army, Ministry of Internal Security or The National Guard. Equipment and resources were poor and often many soldiers had to provide their own weapons and uniforms, making their only distinction from the rebels the white armbands they wore as a means of identifying themselves. Numbers in these militias are unknown to the United Nations at this time, but are estimated to be between 500 - 1500 members.
