Thank you Gunter for having the most useful advice. I will try this... hopefully the server i want to play in will let me lol. As for what im playing its a wasteland server. not much to it. its mostly left alone... its not even heavily modded. It is ALWAYS when i open my map though. it never just crashes... ALWAYS when i open the map. Thats whats been killing me... if it was during a firefight or an explosion or something i get that and for most of that the answer is simple, turn down graphics settings... but the map?!?! haha why map? lol on the subject of reporting it, thats going to be kind of hard bc it populates all sorts of reasons for the crash from access violation to gpu removed... even a simple "app hang"... the crash reasons as reported by arma are very varried...

welp its not the realtek audio thing...

ok did some digging around, when you don't use arma 3 specifically when searching google you find that gpu removed error a lot in a lot of games. one of the game devs managed to track it to an issue with outdated realtek drivers... incidentally i am using the on board audio that came with my mobo which happens to be realtek. trying to download drivers direct from realtek although that often doesn't work well with embedded sound cards... they want you to get em from the mnf site but often those are YEARS out of date. I'm still battling with this. most results say its a memory issue... unless they mean gfx card mem and not ram im no where near maxing out. my other theories are; failing hdd where you have the page file, and failing gfx card. it could be simply that the latest update is maxing our vid cards too much... it could also be an issue with nvidia drivers. That is IF those of us having the issue are all running nvidia.

Here it literally just happened again, when i opened the uav map. It was the status access violation or whatever, i saved the rpt but i have no idea how to upload it for yall

Hey im just happy someone has an answer lol. and no i've not had ANY other issues with the game. It runs great, no stuttering or fps drops or weird loading hangs... and its the darnest thing... only when i open the map... not every time mind you... I'll go 4-6 hours without a crash or i'll start playing and the very first time i open map it crashes... I kind of figured it was an update bc of how suddenly it started happening, and the fact that i had made no changes. 2 windows wipes later (one of which i made sure to have ONLY the game, windows, and drivers installed to see if it was software conflicts) here i am like "I can't fix this" lol

About 2 weeks ago arma started to lock and crash or just lock and i have to force close with task manager. Since then I have tried a multitude of things from setting launch parameters to a clean reinstall of windows. It happens almost exclusively when I open the map. I would blame mods but it happens on different servers using different mods the only mod that would be the same throughout all servers is cba. Unknown when that last updated tho... The errors it gives me range from unable to init dx device to access something or other. Any news on this?

Even a full reinstall of windows couldn't fix it...

lol its any server that allows mods that why i didn't specify, and its any mod i use. don't matter which one. if there is a mod enabled that happens..

Oh someone please help lol... I really wanna play arma 3 but i really wanna use mods too...

Can't join any servers with mods enabled even servers that allow mods... Doesn't matter what mod. All i left on was VTS resting once and still same thing every time... Used play withsix and the regular arma 3 launcher.. doesn't matter... edited the start parameters and left them alone either way doesn't matter... No matter what I do including a full reinstall and redownloading the mods the exact same thing happens..I connect, Select my class (like At, or recon, or whatever) It loads for a bit then gives me the usual config error that something is missing and its never the same message and happens rather mods are enabled or not and happens when it lets me play or doesn't. Then I click ok to make that go away, the loading screen comes back the little bar above the smaller server logo box goes across but the screen never goes away. I have sound and everything... my soldier guy will be calling out locations of enemies and stuff but the loading screen is still there...

Wouldn't mind having a gps mod that you can set a destination on map and the gps will show route maybe even turn by turn directions? eliminating the need for way points or stopping every now and then to check the map...otherwise the gps is just a mini map...not really a gps at all..
