KetsuCorp: KetsuSuite (incl. ArmA Config Parser)
ketsucorp posted a topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
KetsuCorp is honored to announce the first release of the KetsuSuite set of tools for aiding in development purposes. The KetsuSuite is developed by an expert programmer by the name of Zooloo75. His work originally focused and aimed at cutting down repetition and code fatigue and grew into a larger set of tools as time progressed. Here is the basic outline of the KetsuSuite now. KetsuSuite includes: *ArmA Config Parser; A dedicated .cpp analyzer, allowing quick searching of parent class information and parameter searches. This speedy tool is critical in developing classname readme's such as the one for GEARS, or General Equipment Addon Release by KetsuCorp. A project with many classnames & equally as many config.cpp. http://pastebin.com/dX3YFF81 *ArmA Sound Class Information Initializer; ASCII (ArmA Sound Class Information Initializer) is a tool for a new generation of sound artists. Modders can now hastily set new config files up by simply dragging and dropping audio files into the program and it will parse and generate a config simply based on the information input. This is the second feature now included in their KetsuSuite saving users hours of programming! DOWNLOAD LINKS: ArmA Config Parser: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=28245 KetsuSuite: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=28244 Final Words: Essentially we requested Zooloo75 at KetsuCorp to build this series of tools as a pro-active measure to ensuring our work is finished on time. What we would like to do is ask YOU the community to suggest tools that would make your time easy in developing. We appreciate the abstract as much as we do the precise, so any discussion on what we can do to add for the future will help you as much as it will help us. Thank you. Is your suggestion to add an array of queries such as the following example; "DisplayName, HitBlood, Bleedchance" and type it in spaced by comma input? -

So perhaps rename OCP to MCP and then release Scorp 2 as OCP in addendum. ---------- Post added at 13:10 ---------- Previous post was at 13:03 ---------- Update: At present we're working to finish the ABU system to better match its compatibility with ACU. Upon completion of that we will review camo's prior released. That way we can assess not only the following change but also the impact of whether it will be worthwhile to do given time: *Eliminate or reduce requirement footprint on Core. *Restructure modification to release individual base colors, BK, CB, SG, OD, TN. *Restructure modification to release individual eyewear in; BK, CB, SG, OD, TN. *Rename of OCP to MCP and implement OCP as Scorpion W2 variant for release. *Any misc fixes in near future. Are those the current changes requested at present? We will set up a review of the featured changes if so upon finishing the camouflage requests at hand. Thank you all for your feedback and critique so far. -

Keep them coming, we want this kind of feedback for potential releases of unannounced expansions. Also we are expecting to patch for support for Marksman DLC which will be coming soon. ---------- Post added at 03:07 ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 ---------- That's an excellent example. Albeit I am told that OCP/Scorpion W2 is simply Multicam (same color) but without vertical camouflage...? Do you wish for us to modify the Multicam and just make a new one or are you asking for this specific swatch as a pattern addition also? -

ketsucorp replied to ketsucorp's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If you can provide us a texture swatch for Scorpion W2 issue OCP then we'll have it worked up. By proper velcro placement are you asking for the army combat uniform? As you well know the kit for ArmA III uses Combat Shirts/Pants and Crye uniforms, we haven't access to a standard issue ACU with mandarin collar, slant pocket groupings and sleeves. We are however looking into this, possibly. Texture swatch for Scorpion 2, use tags please. -

Give us some time, we may release all camouflages first to get the basis finished and then attempt to adjust just CORE later and have it work itself out that way. Our development team is steaming onto ABU/ACU in the next few days. Please provide critique on the data such as texture quality, etc. If we can improve textures do tell us. -

Private Message me and we'll get ontop of that as soon as possible. I need your startup/launch parameters incl. all mods you use plus a .rpt. That would help me determine what the cause of the crash was, okay? Thanks. :) -

ketsucorp replied to ketsucorp's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Perhaps this solution will work best for all of those concerned about size; We will locate the dependency files, isolate them and correct all further references to depend on a significantly smaller (albeit content is hidden as a simple patch) and we attempt to release these camouflages all as a set of individual items, the file directory listing looking a bit more like this: *GEAR_US_BK.pbo *GEAR_US_CB.pbo etc. and then finally separate Goggles/NVG's into its own distinct PBO due to size. This way, the current framework would essentially be only that. Failing that, we can attempt to make it a simple code-only patch, whereby you can also use a specific version of GEARS_CORE but it is only in code format and data will work but functions such as Night Vision, Accessories etc. do not appear. Feedback please. -

This seems like a pro-active solution, let us get back to you on eliminating the required addon status, there is a ton of content to redo if this potentially is to work at all. Thanks for the feedback! -

The development team is considering expanding into area's such as the potential for a new UI slot available in-game in the virtual arsenal. If successful, kneepads and more could be demonstrated successfully as an independent object too. Fingers crossed, that one is very tough to implement. As always big thanks to you Six, you've provided an element of autonomy to dispatching the modification across several platforms. We'll be setting up a screenshot for the GEAR MARPAT once we have concluded post mod release in the next few hours. Work is tight with the team all working and camouflages become more diverse. Again, many, many thanks for all of it. The main objective of the modification is to provide an HD aspect to ArmA III's default uniforms, so retexturing is the principle aim, you're absolutely right. The sheer number isn't what is impressive alone, this project essentially is estimate to taken (initially) three years to create. In three months KetsuCorp devs made incredible leaps and bounds towards developing quicker, higher quality textures. The practicality comes in when using virtual arsenal, and with the import/export function, a user can create a number of units or teams based on their preferred load out. Furthermore, with the intentions to create units based off of these and other kits, the team is quite excited about the aspect of the library in of itself. We appreciate your interest in this, keeping in mind that this is a project aimed at computer science, a lot of our development team are students looking to set up their careers in game design, what we have accomplished is a larger-scaled modification in game-release timespans and did so with quality in mind. It's fun! Finally, thanks for the critique, since the development team changed hands in the last few months we have seen exceptional increases in development time and our work continues towards a unified goal of learning, teaching and doing. That said, do you have a pro-active recommendation or solution to your own concern about the quantity of content? By far we have exceeded our agenda of development goals, so perhaps if you could provide an actual solution we'd enjoy the opportunity to implement this development as we continue moving. -

Thank you ! We appreciate your support in this, we may edit some of the MARPAT material later but please don't hesitate to try it out and PM critique. That said, enjoy and thanks for your support as always. We would have provided this but given the vast irregularities in uniforms on ArmA III mods, our development team have striven for purpose-built libraries of uniforms. Choice is always superior, and we have had a lot of talks about releasing a "lite" version, but in the end using the templated system of saving "kits" using virtual arsenal, this became a moot point in the discussion. We did at least discuss the request and did reply to you. That said, the entire point and purpose of GEAR is to provide a template industry standard for regular uniforms. While CORE is incredibly vast, on the surface teams will enjoy having the basis from which to add to camo variations in their kits at any level. That being said, we've begun a finish on the last camouflages, and we are now down to approximately 8 left. I hope that helps clear up your questions, and an update to anyone who asked, these versions will be including server keys and require tests, so feedback is vital, please provide any critique or feedback regarding their implementation as tests continue. Many thanks and gratitude for support. -

We'll release a MARPAT pack next then, seems extremely popular around the developer network and my group as well. We will be releasing monthly if not weekly, so stand by for quick releases as making Multicam only took us three or so weeks to complete it. We'll keep you posted. -

Please put in a PM with myself, we may take onboard custom commissions, a project that is entirely yours but is developed specifically for your own purposes, although for now we may permit someone to take off the flag tags and identifiers if the need arises. This is definitely a good point you did bring up :) -

Agreed, and we apologize for the U.S. Orientation prior, if we knew how many people made up the A3 demograph who appreciated generic kits we would have catered sooner. Contact me personally with the request as to what you wish to see, this modification is a showcase of our talents and will expand into a new project by the end of our work. We're inclined to disagree, there are tons of reskins but the quality plus quantity shown here is what counts. There should not be any missing or error based bugs in your logs, ensure you have everything working. Considering we aim to cover every camouflage at high quality and do it quickly (seven months for 5000 is nothing) we probably will fulfill some of the biggest demands in a short order. The community will enjoy this. Now for my personal opinion, I agree that there is a lot, but in order for your argument (or anyones) to be had about content and its size, we'd imagine that someone out there has not been satisfied with just getting a mod pack with his or her's camo. Sometimes people want specifics of belt or gloves or even boot color. We aim to broadstroke all of this fully. Hope that helps clear up why there is such an expansive array of camo. Not sure, let's keep our eye on that one. :P haha! And as always many thanks to Foxhound, your work is ever presently impressive and we appreciate all your efforts to maintain a clean ArmA III modding experience. -
