out of memory crash

hello to all,

I have bought arm 2 from steam but practically I cannot play, always in the same points of the main campaign or in the single missions I have crash with message out of memory

My PC is:

Core 2 Duo

3gb ram

ati 4870 x2

win xp

the version of the game is 1.07

I have tried to change all the configurations video of the game but the result is always the same, in some case worse because the crash is during the loading

also I have tried to use - maxmem=2047 and cpucount=2 but no result

someone can help me?

What is your texture memory set to in graphics options?

Strange, I had the same out of memory crashes before 1.07 but not after.

As you've got a 2 Gb GPU, try to set video memory to very high.

Try “default†so it uses the “localVRAM†value in the ArmA2.cfg rather than trying to force the low/normal/high/etc values?

in my arma2.cfg localvram is abaut 16 gb, is correct?

my pagefile max is 4096 mb

I believe "high"/"V high" is only 512mb but if localVRAM is set higher than what is on the GPU card then it would still try and address memory above what is not there on the GPU card to avoid fragmentation in ram, i.e. only 512mb will be used but it will span the localVRAM address space I think?

Try making sure your ArmA2.cfg is not “read only†so it can write to the ArmA2.cfg

Try deleting localVRAM=########; & nonlocalVRAM=#########; from the ArmA2.cfg so it gets replaced on next start-up.

Add the correct localVRAM value

Regarding changing VRAM values in the cfg, Suma has already confirmed in another thread that this does nothing, as the game only writes these values on first launch but never uses them.

excuse but from what you understand that there are processes in execution?

I cannot be sure to 100% there arent but I do not understand because now in my PC they are installed approximately 15 games of which some now out and I have problems only with arma 2 and for this I would have to formatt

after 5 games installed on pc the better formating

for me everymorning i do format to keep games working fast with high quality ;)

but just copy the list of the working process maybe i can guide you to fix it
