Joystick detected but not working

My SideWinder Force Feedback 2 joystick is detected by the game (it appears in the 'Controllers' window) and is enabled, but I can't do anything with it; the game doesn't respond. The device works fine in Windows calibration, but fails in ArmA.

Did You map the controls?

Thrust: Slider

Left/Right Turn: DO NOT MAP

Bank Left/Right: X axis

Nose Down/Up: Y axis

Left/Right Pedal: Z axis (twist)

Hmm, the configuration for the controller was already there, but it seems like I had to remove the keyboard controls for it to work. Thanks ;)

So I can pilot choppers fine, but the joystick doesn't work with ULBs.

I haven't tested yet but I think the ULB cannot be controlled directly. Like the UAV its semi-autonomous so you just click on the map to give it waypoints.
