5thElement 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Lost USB joystick control after installing 1.30. Did clean reinstall and patched to 1.3. All USB devices working in Windows and other games. It worked fine in 1.29. (worked since 1.20) Also installed DX8.1 and changed controller IDs. Â Saitek GM2 USB is OK. Anyone else found problems?
letterboy1 0 Posted November 18, 2001 Same here. I typically use MS Strategic Commander and it worked in previous versions. I performed all of the prescribed procedures to assure that my USB Root Hub and Host Controller are operating correctly. I also made sure that all necessary drivers are installed (both Windows USB and Strategic Commander). I also made sure that my device passed the connectivity test. My device works otherwise. Any ideas? I'm surprised that there are so few posts about this.
zovirl 0 Posted November 19, 2001 That's odd. Mine works fine. Have you checked the control settings in the game? Maybe joysticks got turned off somehow? Don't know...
5thElement 0 Posted November 19, 2001 Letterboy, I agree with you - I'm also surprised there are so few posts on this. I use Saitek GM2 along with joystick and until 1.3 they worked beautifully in OFP - other games needed to see the joystick as #1 ID to work but OFP always worked irrespective of this. Now it doesn't read the joystick at all. There is definately a problem on the USB side of things. Microsoft know how to do it - FS2002 reads any device correctly, anytime anywhere! letterboy1 0 Posted November 19, 2001 This may not be relevant, but I noticed another person post about losing USB joystick control because he had multiple devices hooked up. He says OFP will only read input from his USB steering wheel (a problem that he didn't have before). When I get home I'm going to disable joystick in OFP to see if it was trying to read my gameport joystick and thereby causing it to ignore my USB device. Who knows, perhaps a clue? Either way, the other post seems to indicate that something about USB is definitely different. letterboy1 0 Posted November 19, 2001 I went ahead and posted on a related thread to show that something about USB is different in 1.30. Perhaps there is a simple work around to this?
