Hi Matt,

You can extract it to anywhere. Maybe use c:/temp

After its all done intalling (and tested) you can delete the folder it made.

Nam Assassin: YES, you need latest DirectX

Just 2 b on the safe side: extracting isn´t installing, you´ve got to run setup after extracting the files.

Lol, yeah. Matt its only asking where to extract the install files to. Then you can run the "Setup.exe" from that folder to actually do the DirectX installation.

Request for steer from a forum expertise :

On a similar vein, I downloaded x3daudio1_6.dll from the MS link posted in this forum; I did a bit of googling to check where dll files should be extracted to.

So I extracted to Program Files / Bohemia Interactive / Arma 2 Demo. I also checked that I could see all the dll files in that folder. All looked OK. I rebooted my pc.

But, when I launch the Demo program, I'm still getting the error dialogue-box about missing x3daudio1_6.dll. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Resolved - I downloaded the latest (Jun 2010) DirectX version from MicroSoft's site. All works fine and dandy now
