dr_zakharotta 10 Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) hey all, As I share the love for this game, and for what it boasts of a multitude of units, I would like to offer a chance for community players to participate in a remake machinima of Behind Enemy Lines (gene hackman and owen wilson 2001 film) Since most of the units in the actual movie are already in game, and the A.C.E.2 mod augments missed units and weapons (like the ejection seat from the last scene) it's my distinct pleasure to invite all players who read this to do camera shooting of the scenes of the film with friends one another , We will receive the footage as FRAPS recording per member, shot from an angle he likes, and will edit the sounds and special effects from the movie selectively, to produce Takes. Each take should be related to a part of the movie. We will announce that each week a scene is to be made. so that in 4 weeks the movie will be assembled out of best shots and compiled onto a trailer and a movie on Youtube. All participants of selected movies will have their names listed at the credits.. I know some of you might think, why do it? There are tonnes of videos online on youtube from Arma and Arma 2 with same setting. But we strive for the best of cinematic production, as I happen to know alot of effects and have many friends who would share in the feedback and editing. So you'll probably lose a few MB/Gb on hard disk from Frap-ing, but the outcome shall be tremendous.. **IMPORTANT** All videos upped on rapidshare should not exceed 3 minutes. Format for captured unedited video should be AVI H264 Resolution 640 X 480 **notes on FRAPS** before you record, open fraps and make sure the capture is clocked @ 30fps. We dont want stutter and flickering damaging the footage. Q. where do I get fraps?? A. Fraps is available on THIS site as trial. You should be clocked @ 15 fps, but my advice is buy licence online. For $37 thats giving away a decent meal, or a few mileage from Car Fuel tank/... And it's very compatible with the new systems.. of course some might have the torrent pirated faulty version. Dont bother uploading your video because the watermark will give you away. Also, fraps has a digital watermark which we have programs to verify authenticity. so no foul play please. Also remember to have the final video scanned for viruses before upload on Rapidshare With permission from moderators I wish this thread is Stickied and if improperly placed, you have my most sincere apology and you have discretion of moving it to appropriate forum. Only send me the new thread link @ dr_zakharotta@hotmail.com Technical details on how to: A) record by camera without crosshairs the cameraman (unarmed soldier Online friend presumably) should have his init like You simple add this line to the init field of your unit: Quote: player exec "camera.sqs" You can then press L to get rid of the cross. Also use Quote: player exec "camera.sqs"; showCinemaBorder false to remove the border should want to. The controls for the camera are list as Buldozer in the control options, so you can set it so you use a joystick for extra smooth movement. ARMA CAMERA SQS TUTORIAL HERE You can also use an old pc with capture card as a substitute for fraps( not recommended at all!!!) B) Record in AVI ( I dont know if fraps records in AVI but if all else fails, you can use TVC (trial @ just make sure that settings are for AVI H264 and 640X480 If it crashes upon selection, change decode by internal to the other option and retry.. make sure to leave the converter overnight and not to use it as background converter (would degrade video quality) C) upload to Rapidshare easy.. www.rapidshare.com Browse to file and select it then click upload. Wait till upload finishes, RS will give you a link, you post it here @ this thread. If you are using narrow bandwidth connection leave it overnight or while at school. D) File naming ideally, the files should reflect something about movie name, the scene, the situation like under threat, reminiscing, firefight, takeoff, rescue, etc...., along with the date of capture, and uploader name (player name) a typical title would be for my case BEL2001CarrierSceneTakeoff2642010dr_zakharotta.avi which for those who actually saw the film would be when owen wilson and gabriel macht catapult either when the nato approaches and the cat is cancelled or when the brand new car music scene(actual flight). In which case there is 2 scenes of same location, like the one above, the file name can be altered to reflect: BEL2001CarrierSceneTakoffNATO2642010dr_zakharotta.avi or BEL2001CarrierSceneTakeoffActualdr_zakharotta.avi E)Forum is down, where do I send link to my RS file?? dr_zakharotta@hotmail.com just put your filename @ the title bar on the e-mail I hope you set to sail early, gents, that would be all Edited April 26, 2010 by dr_zakharotta

Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted April 28, 2010 I would suggest using the F-14 addon for the video, it looks better, and i think it has a 2 seater. I have a partly done F-18 that I could use for a video, but it's only a 1 seater, and is in RACS Camo. Your best bet would probably be to wait a while to see if the 2 seater, USN F-18 will be released.

Is there a way to lock view onto an object from afar with camera.sqs controls?? Nevermind if you're not familiar..
