marcasino 10 Posted April 26, 2010 I just brought Arma 2 and tried to install it onto my machine. I first tested the disc on my mum's laptop as I was at my parent's house when I brought it. The launcher worked so I left it at that. Now I come to install it on my own computer the disc isn't recognized. I insert it and after some wurring noises my disc drive does nothing. When I click on it, it just say's "Please insert disc to D:" My drive's working on other DVD roms and cd's and the disc worked on my mum's laptop. Can anybody help? Bulldogs 10 Posted April 26, 2010 Try updating your DVD drive's firmware. Find out what DVD drive you have and go to the manufacturers website and download and install the new DVD firmware.
marcasino 10 Posted April 26, 2010 I tried that. I don't believe it's my drive as it will play other games fine. Could it be securom or something?
EDcase 87 Posted April 29, 2010 Sorry but just because other disks work does not mean your drive is compatible with this one. It is most likely that you must update the firmware or need to use a different drive I'm afraid.
marcasino 10 Posted April 29, 2010 I managed to fix it. I created an image of the disc on my friends laptop that would recognise the disc. Sent it across my network to my computer and installed the game from the image. I then updated to patch 1.05 and it now works.
