patch 1.50 crashes my game,1.30&1.40 worked fine please help

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I purchased Arma2, installed it and was able to play it.

I updated straight to 1.05 which is said to be ok and the correct way of updating patches and after installing patch 1.50 and rebooting, I start the game using icon from arma2 folder and when it gets to the screen where you can click single player multiplayer etc it just crashes every time and I get APPCRASH and goes back to desktop.

I uninstalled the game then reinstalled, the game starts fine on 1.30, I then installed 1.40 and the game played fine with sound etc all working ok...

Every time i try to install 1.5 it crashes, I have tried 3 different file locations for patch 1.50 and all give me the same problem of crashing back to desktop.

APPCRASH give me this error

I think you can go straight from vanilla install to 1.05

I tried placing –noxp –nosplash -maxmem=512 in the target

I think you want -winxp instead of -noxp

Also use -world=empty to load quicker
